  1. Quite right nutbean, to suggest that past players have alienated themselves from the club is nonsense. Without any thought Greg Healy, Rod Grinter and Gary Lyon are three who have had a great deal to do with the club in recent years and there would be many more.
  2. Correct, besides Guernsey number F1 was never going to be available to Joe.
  3. The only form Joe ever had was on the race track. Born in Mount Isa 1969. Seriously.
  4. Seems to be a common theme these last few days. I'm happy.
  5. Twitter certainly has McCartin as the fave to go at one.
  6. Yep, free tickets easy to come by. The draft is an interesting experience however even more so is wandering around Broadbeach prior to and after and running into so many of footy's elite.
  7. Shame as he was on the way to a very good ton. Cricket is the least of Phil's worries at present, all we can do is wish him well. I was following the game on cricinfo.com and to be honest felt sick in the guts as the drama unfolded.
  8. Old age does tend to bring with it a lack of interest in specifics. That's why I regularly do crosswords and sudoku to stave off dementia.
  9. No need for apology, we have differing views, so be it. Cheers.
  10. You are a very hard marker, that first goal attempt in 2000 was from the boundary line on his wrong foot. I was in the members not far away. Essendon were a far superior team in 2000 losing one game for the entire season. To even hint that Neitz was somehow responsible for the loss is ludicrous.
  11. Neither did Simmonds. Try Johnson, Ball, Mithen, Anderson, Wells, Hardeman, Icke and Stynes for size.
  12. You need to revisit round 22 1996 for a start where Neitz slotted several great goals from outside 50, a feat he often performed. You have conveniently changed the format of your argument to a comparison with the great full forwards of the league whereas the original discussion was whether Neita was/is a club great of which there is no doubt.
  13. Nice to see Max given the chance to bring some credibility back to the number 11 after the last bloke soiled the Guernsey.
  14. That would be the dumbest post I have read on this or any other footy forum. Mate you have NFI.
  15. Nice boost in voting numbers for the semi finals. Good fun thanks Adam.
  16. Hughes and Ferguson both have a real chance to press for a place with a big innings against a very good NSW attack.
  17. Brisbane teams can't help themselves, they love the bandwagon.
  18. Like it or not Watson is the best option at three and is likely to be for some time if you care to consider technique and stroke making. Biggest obstacle is fitness and has been for some years.
  19. Frank Davis wore number 40 in 1964 and took over number 6 when Bluey Adams retired prior to 1965.
  20. No Rob, my memory is not that good. I have a hard copy list of all MFC numbers from when they were first worn in 1912 through to 2005 when I started entering data to the old Demonology site which sadly was a waste of time in the end. The more recent numbers are readily available from the footy record. Failing that the numbers can be read in a publication by Russell Holmesby & Jim Main - The Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers.
  21. Big Bob wore number 18 for 3 seasons, 1954 - 56 then 16 from 1957 - 61, John Townsend then took over 16 for the next decade. Tassie Bob wore 8 and Trevor Johnson 14. Any others ?
  22. Thank you Doctor, great memories indeed. We were a tad lucky to make the finals and just got home in the big one which I was privileged to witness. Another one please.
