  1. Do not hold your breath. Those that have some contacts say it is all in the hands of the state government. A government that is broke and an election in November. I don’t see this as high on their agenda. No votes in giving money to the MFC in fact it could be the reverse.
  2. How lucky are we to have had Tmac as a player at the MFC. Tom arrived when we were poor and was sometimes the only reason I went to some games. He has been a good player for well over a decade and was one of the reasons we won the flag in 21 kicking 2 goals. We saw last year how valuable he was in the backline last year add his comments in this Doco and my admiration only rises. Some years ago I was in a line waiting to enter the Werribee ground for a Casey game. We struck up a conversation, he didn’t seem to have any trouble talking to a nobody like me. Thank you Tom.
  3. DD does anyone thinks White will be anymore than an Average player. I believe there is a reason no one showed any interest in him at drafting time!
  4. So beating us by 10 goals suggests we are nothing flash.
  5. Re the above injury list imo only two are serious losses, Viney and Bowey. May has been average the last two seasons. We will miss those two so lets see how their replacements perform. The rest have yet to show they are up to being senior players.
  6. For whatever reason Vineys season is over. He has done next to no preseason and still has the injury so bad he struggles to do more than walk. Sadly this season is over for Viney. Put him on the long term injury list.
  7. LDC I think you give they them way too much credit. I don't believe they are that clever.
  8. I am familiar with the shallow end, we have been in it for the majority of the 60 years. I look at the two sides we play in practice matches and I see teams that have crashed out of finals contention in recent years and are struggling to get out of the shallow end. North have been there for a considerable period. I actually think they will be better than the Tigers this year and I will not be surprised if they beat us. They have a legion of kids who are starting to find their feet at the top level. Beware the Roo in 26.
  9. In between those wins we lost by 10 goals!
  10. I am hoping we don’t get belted like last season. If we can be close to the Roos it will be a good start.
  11. I need to see how we performed against the Tigers and Roos in the two practise matches. We have been easy beats for St Kilda the last two seasons. In case anyone has forgotten we gave up 9 goal lead a few games back to lose. The saints have added some good players. Our additions in the main are kids and we have lost two GF winners add a new coach and learning a new game plan and I am not expecting much this year.
  12. The Force is no longer with him DF!
  13. Was there much on as competitors Macca. I was out Friday night so I don’t what was on, now was it the best of a bad lot? TV rights is what drives the AFL if the media want two games next year they will get them. Honestly the AFL are a strange lot we have a fixture where the first game of the year is actually the second round of the year. The actual first round of the year is the Opening round. There a weird mop!
  14. DJ, did picket have any impact for the WA team? He can be brilliant but he has a lot of quarters where he has little impact. At present he doesn’t have the impact on a lot of games that guys like Charlie Cameron , Daicos the young or the Ashcroft brothers. Now don’t get me wrong I am glad he plays for us but I don’t have him in the top bracket of players in the game.
  15. It’s amazing that we change the rules because umpires cannot bounce the ball. Something they have been doing for 150 years.
  16. You are not alone!
  17. Thanks DJ.
  18. I have to admit I did not watch the game. From my scant info I saw no mention of Kossie or Max. They did not get injured so in the end I am happy.
  19. Have no fear rjay. With AI and predictive script typing rjay is hard work it took 3 attempt each time, keeps converting it to "that". Now it says the Grammer is incorrect go figure. Hmm back to dancing with your sister rjay!
  20. Depends on whether he is right or left handed!
  21. If Kossie or Max get injured at this nonsence match I will be throwing up for weeks.
  22. Hmm, dancing with your sister stuff today. I want to see how some of these February champions fare up against another AFL team. Lets see how they look against the Tigers and North.
  23. Exactly I would avoid it like the plague.
  24. Forever, it takes away the need for us at Caufield. They can then put off any changes at Caufield. They haven't got the money needed to develop it to the way the current plan looks. I would be extremely careful about moving to waverley we could easily be stuck there for decades / forever. It's also the [censored] weather location in Melbourne.
  25. I have a feeling DJ that if we move to Waverley it reduce the need for Caufield and the timeline will increase. Staying put keeps the pressure on the AFL and the state government. Even though I don't believe the state government feels much pressure.
