As Dc said I too do not see how playing a guy who is well below AFL standard at this point helps his development. He played 7 games in a row for two reasonable quarters. At the least he should have been dropped to Casey after the Geelong game. He is not yet ready for AFL. The mistake we made with JW was playing him for too many games in his early career lets not repeat it with Weideman.

I would love to know what the instructions were to Weideman in the first 4 games Ernest. Get where the ball ain't? As JD would say.

Sorry to be negative Fifty- 50 suspension show a lack of application and sense. Injuries hurt but the Dogs had some bad injuries last year and still managed to win enough to make the finals and win the GF. Because IMO their talent level is better and deeper. We are still 4- 5 players off a finals team.

You have a way better opinion of him than me RN. Now that does not make you wrong just a lot different. when he missed that easy goal in the first quarter last week he dropped to the " will let us down when it counts" list for me RN.

I actually think he will play on Sunday I am far from convinced Petracca will play. Ernest as Dees fans we constantly see a number of our players as being better than they are it is natural situation that I along with other side have been sucked into. We are still a bottom eight side with a number of players who are barely AFL level quality as our results show. Yes we are a lot better than a couple of years ago but we still a way off being a finals team.

If he does not play well on Sunday how could he continue to get games? He played last week because we have got to the " no one left stage" because of injuries. But then we played the Weid for four weeks when he should have been at Casey after the first two so I guess anything is possible.
