That is a great memory, so it is now 36 years without a home, that must be some sort of record. The MFC sure has some different records in its history both high and low.
The board must be happy with a 9 zero start as it is probably all that most members can think about. Imagine if we were 3 -6 the subject of the home ground would be getting a lot more attention as would their performance in a number of areas. Right now they are probably thinking the members are happy let’s shut up about anything else. Or perhaps I am just a half century cynic.
It appears to me that most AFL clubs have only a passing illusion of democracy. The boards control who gets to stand at election time and anyone who wants to step outside their approval is in for a tough fight. It is always justified by stability is the best method. As an individual member of an AFL club you have very little rights beyond attending a game.
Well it seems I was wrong the other day only social club members have voting rights which according to the HUN today is approx 10 of the 80k members seems fairly democratic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
