  1. The NBA does have a salary floor...in the event that a team falls under the floor, teams are mandated to pay out the gap evenly to the players on the roster. It's not a 95% number though.
  2. The current collective bargaining agreement expires in October - with the new tv deal you'd expect the AFLPA to negotiate a better deal for the players. It would be stupid for any player who doesn't have to, to negotiate new deals under current arrangements, and it wouldn't be shocking if the PA have requested that members with two or more years remaining hold off extension talks till the end of the year.
  3. Matthews: Initial reaction has so much to do with the jumper the player is wearing. Jed Anderson was apparently a superstar after a pretty limited showing in a hand full of games this year. Hogan already touches the ball 4 more times a game than the much-lauded J.Cameron (that's taking this years career best avg). Matthews is just lazy - remember the comments re: Clark? He's not providing a comment on the players quality, but analysis that has no basis in any reality.
  4. Jetta is a guy who can fill a bunch of needs in a pinch. He'll have increasing value the better the team is. There are certainly players on the full list who Neville deserves to get games over. Seems a low-risk move that the club decided to carry through some time ago.
  5. IF it went down the way it looked, he should be suspended by the club, at the very least.
  6. So just wanted to hear some reaction, currently o/s so no one to bounce this off. Age top 10 today is: 10. G Chappel/ s Waugh 9 ponting 7 benaud/McGrath 6. border 5. Miller 4. Gillchrist 1.2.3. Yet to be announced but probably bradman, warne, Dk lillee My reaction IS PONTING NOT SERIOUSLY UNDERRATED on this list? I know his captaincy has been questionable...although he's probably a glen McGrath misstep away from being viewed entirely different. Best australian batsman since the don, no?
  7. While Malthouse is 'the coach', i reckon that clarkson is the go...I don't know if Mick has it in him for one more, I put up a thread about age of premiership coaches that some people didn't particularly favour but this seems tantamount to David Parkin moving to Carlton - good move dees
