Great to see Tyson out there.

Lol the cringe factor of this is off the scale

    God I hate Seven’s coverage.
  5. Tip against us by all means. Have a punt against us if you want. But saying we "can't win" against Port is downright stupid. Some people's MFCSS is clearly incurable.

Massive props to have him ahead of Cerra who has future star written all over him. Yet not unreasonable. Spargo would be pick 11. JT is smashing this gig atm.

In: Tyson, Garlett, T Smith Out: Harmes, Hannan, Pedersen Vince will be better for the week off. His good games this season haven’t gotten the plaudits they deserve and coming up against a much more experienced side I want him out there. Jeffy is a bit of a punt but when he’s on he’s a game changer and this game is all in.
  8. Highlight for me was Roosy having a chuckle at Demonland's working term for the veil of negativity, i.e. MFCSS. Other highlight was him slipping in a "we" when talking about the current day team, not the one he coached. He's red and blue for life now
  9. Losing the clearances 47-28 against the Dogs was mostly swept aside at the time due to the dominance in other areas but in retrospect it was a warning sign. We have the best tap ruckman in the game and a wealth of talent on the iniside. We need to fix it up and quickly. I rarely subscribe to the “loss we had to have” theory, but if ever it was to be applied, this was the week. I get the impression our players are still prone to being very happy with themselves. This was a reality check that may not have come at a good time in terms of the occasion but came at a good time in terms of the season.
  10. Lever will be the loss we feared. Defence was almost back to its shambolic worst. Smith performed admirably but we clearly needed someone back there to marshall the troops. The extent to which we lost the clearance battle was alarming. If we can get the ball forward we are one of the most damaging sides in the comp but on days like today when it is one way traffic out of the middle we get badly exposed. Not too many positives, team or individual. Hopefully some lessons learned.

We can not win a clearance.

Pass. His kicking in front of goal would do my head in. I like the dead eye dick thing we’ve got going.

Vanders will be an intriguing one as you match his versatility, size and strength up against his dodgy kicking. We’ve seen that if you struggle to hit targets by foot you will find yourself being squeezed out of this side (see Bugg, Hunt etc). How he performs at Casey will determine his future but as it stands I think there’s enough to persist with him for another year. Kent I’d keep on the back of what he was showing before he got injured. Both he and Vanders will have a fight on their hands to break into the side but as depth we could do far worse. Given the timing of entering a “premiership window” (horrible term) I’d opt to keep decent players in this age bracket rather than replace them with a couple of kids that are unlikely to provide immediate competition for a place in the side. Spargo has hit the ground running but he’s the exception, not the rule.
  16. No, that’s the point. There doesn’t have to be just one. They’ve picked two ruckmen in the past. It’s rare, but it can happen. Gawn and Grundy on form would be amongst the top five players in the league right now. It’s stupid omitting one of them. Grundy is racking up midfield numbers and deserves a bench position. As far as key indicators for a ruckman are concerned, Gawn is a pretty clear first choice.
  17. Also, Martin is not having an All Australian year. In fact he’s arguably not even close to it.
  18. Blatant attempt to attract attention and discussion. Gawn will be one of the first players picked.

I understand Hardwick wanting to defend his player, but his reaction to the criticism was almost as embarrassing as Rance’s act itself. This is absolutely a stain on Rance’s career to date whether Hardwick wants to accept that or not. And no, players don’t pretend they are on a 10 metre platform “four or five times a game”.

It’s also crazy not to have Tarrant in the squad of 40. Of course Rance is in there though. Permanent marker.
  21. This was never really in doubt but it’s still great to have him locked in. My hair is thankful for Tommy moving forward.

    Yes.
  23. Roos thinks Frost will come in with Hibberd to play the loose intercepting role.
  24. Josh Smith... These numpties really don’t deserve what they get paid.

Jones is also playing great footy this year but hoping for him to be picked in an AA side is akin to hoping for a lapdance from Natalie Portman.
