MJ is winding back the clock. Not since Thomo have I seen batsman with a look of being frightened. I'll give credit to Bell he is the only one that has looked to being up for a fight. The big Q do to we bat or enforce the follow-on? I would bat again. make a quick fire 200 Their bowlers will look tame compared to what MJ has done, the batsmen will still be shell shocked and it will be playing on their minds while in the field. Perhaps Lyon can get amonst it with the wicket breaking up. Plenty of time left. If we destroy their top order on a 4th day wicket. mentally they will be shot to bits, if not already. Bell must bat at 3. At least they might be a chance to make a decent total. It weakens their middle order, but they need to do something.

Aust is really in the box seat to take a firm grip of retrieving the Ashes. Good to see the review system working as it should, the umpiring has been a decent std,no howlers. Luck is finally going our way. I am not sure if this is some sort of a trivial record, but Aust has reached scores of 50;s by boundaries or over the fence throughout this innings. The longer we keep them in the field and wearing down their bowlers the more chance of grabbing this series by the throat. The poms 2 or 3 down before stumps.

It looks like some of the info coming out of Wongs is all Wong. A phone tap will sort this out. At further risk of upsetting our Indonesian friends, Wong doesnt sound Indonesian, but I could be wong. We may have another diplomatic uproar ,so sowwy wong number.

I had a conversation 8? yrs ago, someone was bragging how good we were, I agreed. Australia "A" had a team that would beat most our countries. The likes of Hodge, D.Hussey etc etc. couldnt crack the main test side. We had approx 2 teams filled with players of the same age, that meant they would all retire around the same time. I pointed out they need to rotate the Aust A team with some young blood. Not kept playing the same players, regardless if Aust A is performing well. Its far easlier for a young batsmen / bowler to come in and perform in a winning team than one that comes in .. perform now or your out. A good winning team can carry a up and comer and give him time to adjust. What happened, those 28-34 yr olds in Aust A either lost form, or didnt get a new contract. Hayden Gilchrist Warne all retired etc etc , Hodge gave up. suddendly the next tier of young players were found wanting. Our main test team lost the backbone of the team. We found ourselves on struggle street, because we failed to blood or unearth young players to fill a void. Warne, Gilchrist cannot not be replaced, but the need turn over young players was crucial for our future. It didnt happen, now young batsman come in find themselves under the pump. Until the top order fire, we are going to be under the pump to win games. The bowlers when fit! have done their jobs. Its time out luck changed, the last few 1st tests in the ashes series, we were well placed to win, only to be thrawted by rain delays or just sheer bad luck. In Brisbane we are well placed again, lets hope it goes our way, and then the Poms are under the pump.

Not good. Our flaky top order. I was predicting a minor fightback, then the slump between tea and stumps. See my post above I amended it between. Tea to stumps

Most on here will remember the 10year rule. 10 Years at one club and they were free to go to the highest bidder. Nth.Melbourne threw truckloads at targeted players when Barassi was coach, to build a team to win a flag, and they did. When FA was announced I feared it was happening all over again, but this time a club got compensated for their lose. And there is talk of taking away compensation if clubs lose a player through FA. If clubs dont get compensated the weak clubs will be milked dry. FA is on paper a two way street, players not getting games, can try their luck elsewhere, BUT why arent they getting a game?, most times, its because their club have better players above that player,he can choose to go and play for a club of his choice, and it doesnt mean he will improve that clubs player list. IF a club has an abundance of ruckmen, and they need a small, seems fair to trade a ruck for a small, or let a ruckmen go in a FA so he has more chance of making it in AFL with another club. That is a win for club and player. The way this is panning out, whats the point of having a priority pick, when the player spends his 1st 8 yrs honing his skills, and game experience, the club does the hard yards, only to see a required player walk to another club. The weak clubs havent the cash flow to match offers from the wealthy clubs. Some may argue the weaker clubs have more room to move in their salary cap, therefore can invite A grade players to come to them, but whats the point if they cant win a game? The only players they will entice are players past their best, and looking for top dollar to see out their playing days. They may fluke getting an A grader, once in awhile, but to be competitive a club needs more than a handful of decent players,if they keep losing some of their best players every time a player gets 8 yrs up. they are going around in circles, and going nowhere fast. Now taking our situation into account, who would blame a player wanting out, who wants to play every week and get smashed. Club loyality died many years ago. the only thing stopping them leaving, are the friends they made, a good repore with coaches and helping the club climb the ladder and if success is achieved, the reward is more forfilling. Back to the real world, if they get a better offer elsewhere to play for a team with more success. Why stay? Having said all that, think back a few years. Aaron Davey was reported in the paper,as signed sealed and almost delivered to the Bummers. I ask where is he playing today? The point being most times its media beatup to sell papers, until its announced offically from either club or player its business as usual. If we do lose a couple of our good players, it isnt the end of the world. If they dont want to be there, cya later. The onus is on the club to keep our best signed up and happy,if they cant do that, whats the whole point of it all.

Ok, who's the wiseguy? I gotta relo who cant login. It could mean a split in relations if the ban cant be removed. Why ban nana ? Aferall she is harmless, its not if she just fritters her time away. She hasnt been able to post on the forum for months, she is going bananas.I havent seen someone do their narna since John Bourke lost it down at the Lake Oval. Atm she is sedated on the banana lounge.I wanted to-a-peel to anyone that could remove it, or warrant any justification to ban nana. Perhaps some smoothies on here can sort it out. Before she starts to think its become a banana republic or something... After feeling cut up she may do something silly over something trifle . thx

Hate to put holes in a great story...but cassette tape? Someone should inform that floating Island, the mainland has gone digital. Surveillance cameras were tapered with by your offsider no doubt,as you would knocking us off the headlines. Man seen tapering with and stealing from art gallery. But with no video evidence of the forementioned heist, you may rest easy on the good ship lollipop. May I also suggest if you are Sydney bound, check the "Rocks" DB is between a rock and a hard place atm.

After relentless banging on my 6inch thick bunker door. I thought its either rumble from the fallout or someone wanting something. I peaked out through the pothole. The sun is out,the birds are chirping. The dvd player got stuck while playing the '87 prem final. I thought it cant get any worse now. I was given an ultimatum, stay in there, and miss out on my chrissy presents, that happen to be new MFC footy goodies Do I choose the risk of death?, you betcha, settled on the footy goodies. 2 pallets of popcorn ,one opened, to go on ebay shortly.

I heard that on the news today. A true sportsman, and a Pom to boot. Too bad some of his fellow pom sportsman dont share his intregity. We might have not sufferred a white-wash in the ODI, if those pommy cricketers had waited up and let us catch up. On the punctures... it brings in a new meaning of tack-dicks during the Tour de France
