  1. Tom McDonald: lots to like, but he costs us goals with the constant turnovers. Seems unable to kick to a Melbourne player and have the ball arrive at the destination.
  2. Not catastrophic - especially given the cattle we have out there. Too many unable to hit a target by hand or foot, turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Haven't minded some of the younger players, doing OK. Newton, Stretch, Salem. A long way to go though ...
  3. The same Riley who in four games this year has a total of 36 possessions, 5 tackles and 7 clearances? Yep, that'll make a difference.
  4. The million dollar question isn't so much why top juniors can't cut it, it's why junior players who aren't even rated at all end up winning Brownlows. The draft: informed guesswork, but at the end of the day, still guesswork.
  5. Dawes, Pederson, Frost all unavailable. Tom Mac will be needed forward, so Oscar the only possible candidate. Godf luck to him.
  6. We're all affable, pleasant, people. Of course.
  7. No, it's the players' job as part of their responsibility to themselves as elite, professional athletes, as well as to their team mates and their club/guernsey. Does anyone here think for one minute that it's Clarkson's responsibility to get Luke Hodge "up and firing" for each match? Effort isn't something coaches bring, it's what players bring.
  8. That's about how long it'll take - until Brayshaw, Viney, Stretch, McDonald, Hogan etc. are "senior players".
  9. "No, he hasn't been suspended, we just thought that it would be better for his well-being if he didn't play this week".
  10. Biggest issue I feel is not just players out per se, but the lack of team stability. Even given the players available, the constant changes in personnel are not helping. Doesn't help the players either. Fitzpatrick and Toumpas (OK, OK) have both been in and out of Casey - whatever they might become, neither we nor they are going to find out if they can't string a decent run of matches together.
  11. Misson is not our problem, and if he is, he's a long way down the list.
  12. Our senior players and Leadership are Pathetic. Carry on.
  13. I'll take his attitude every day of the week over some of the others. I'd keep him on. Not sure who he's keeping out?
  14. Not sure. Murphy off is big, but we're still 4 goals down.
  15. Haven't minded them - which is a bit of a surprise, had them in the "not quite up to it" basket. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone else, including the "senior" mids doing much/any better. Jones and Vince, 5 disposals each. Meanwhile, Murphy 14 and Cripps 13. There's the difference right there.
  16. Selective. Have a look at where those "luminaries" play. Our best two young players are Hogan and, arguably Tom McD (back to his best on the weekend). Bookends. The Dogs' best young players are ALL midfielders (Stringer aside). It starts and ends there, regardless of whoever else is in the team. Sure, the Dogs have a few fringe players, but in the engine room they have the talent that we don't. It makes all the difference.
  17. We're light years away from being a great club. Perhaps by the time Jack Viney is captain and Hogan, Brayshaw and A Nother (Salem? Petracca?) are AA, we might be, but until then ...
  18. Don't agree. Perhaps he's frustrated, but struggling implies that he's not doing what he could/should, which I don't believe is the case. Not sure why people keep looking at Roos here - until we get some decent players, who then get a decent time learning to play together, there isn't going to be any miracle turnaround, no matter who the coach is.
