  1. It has been reported a few times that Sydney Swans are going after Callum Sinclair (and Zac Smith).

He is a good forward and a good ruck with a huge tank, great hands and good skills.

He is a Victorian (dad played for Saints and Fitzroy).

I think he would compliment Hogan and Gawn perfectly and he would not cost the earth. If he is willing to move to Sydney for some money, he might be keen to move to Melbourne too.

  2. Still sounds like serious hyperbole from Gossage though. Gossage is the typical hanger-on that the AFL is full of - peripheral commentators who have to say big things to remain minutely relevant.

    I agree, although:

TOP 10 SANDOVER MEDAL VOTE WINNERS

Aidan Tropiano (Perth) – 45 votes

Ashton Hams (South Fremantle) – 44

    Sam Menegola (Subiaco) – 41

Menegola, meanwhile, joined Subiaco in 2015 after being left of Peel Thunder's list and despite not appearing until Round 11, he immediately showed his quality and ability to dominate games as a ball-winning, hard running and goal kicking midfielder.

    Not bad at all.....

  3. Freo can't get all of Bennell, Jetta, McCarthy, Carlise, Leuenberger this year.

Ross has already said publicly that Freo will review recruiting policies after being burned by Sylvia. He has also been burned by Josh Simpson and Andrew Lovett. Bennell is in a similar boat, it seems.

  4. Jobe Watson

    Nat Fyfe

    Sam Mitchell

    Luke Hodge

    Dan Hannebery

    Josh Kennedy

    Adam Treloar

    Travis Boak

    Isacc Smith

    Bradley Hill

    Brent Stanton

    Mark Blicavs

    Dan Nicholson

    Jarryn Geary

    Rohan Bail

The first group are footballers first and foremost. They're players who have developed a 'tank' through sheer work ethic and none of them were elite runners before being drafted.

The second group are runners first and foremost. Some of whom have greater footballing ability than others on their list.

Of course running is important. But it's fair to say the differences once you get to AFL level rest in your ability to 'play' the game and not so much whether or not you can beat a bloke in a 3km time trial by 20 seconds.

Agree completely, although Hannebury had the best beep test result at the draft camp in his year

  5. Greg Denham mentioned pretty much under his breath that both the Saints and us are having a look at him.

He has struggled with injuries a little bit and has struggled to break in to a young Bulldogs side that has a lot of young mids and small forwards.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in for the right price but I wouldn't pay heaps for someone so unproven (and small).

  6. How can people froth over the prospect of bringing in Riley, Michie, Newton, Magner, Couch, who were all completely unproven at AFL level, whilst denigrating Melksham, who has played some good footy at AFL level in one of the most horrific environments for a sporting team in world history?

Melksham played some great footy in the first half of this year as a half-forward.

Goodwin will have slightly more insight than most here.

  7. I think it's pretty easy to forget how good Jack Trengove is, him getting back to full form would be like adding another Brayshaw.

would be huge if he can get himself right.

I think Trengove is a perfect replacement for Crossy off half-back.

He has the elite marking for a mid-sized player, plus a high footy IQ.

He is perfect for the Beau Waters role.
