We need two or three midfielders that average more than 100 dream team points every week. Our best midfielder Jones only averages 80 Our backline and Forward line are ok. The problem really is with the midfield, as far as possesions won, fitness and pace. Two things will makeus competitive again : 1. A new coach who is proven, like Roos, Choco,Eade,Clarkson. 2. Do or die, we must target two or three very good established mids. ( AFL assistance here, with extended salary cap and draft picks to trade with.) Once we have success on the field ,the rest will follow.

Blease is the only guy we have with running power, its the oppositions ability to run with some pace thats killing us.

Ok we need pace and we need to get the ball into the hands of those with good kicking skills. Davey should play the quarterback role he was playing when Bails was coach. Gotta get the ball into the hands of guys like Toumpas and Watts in the midfield and half forward line, as well as guys like Blease who can run and take em on. Bring in Nicholson and Clisby as they both have good pace. Have Dawes , Howe and Gawn inside 50 and the plan is to kick it long to these guys. Trengove and the Jones boys as link players outside the packs, with Magner and couch gettin the ball out. I wanna coach the Dees!

We dont work hard enough off the ball, we just dont provide enough options for the guy with the ball to get him out of trouble. Watching Hawthorn and Collingwood, they had multiple options , players running past screaming for the ball.

Terrible Mark and turns it over a bit, but i do see potential.

Collingwood had their pick of loose players inside 50 all day. All mostly midfielders whose opponents failed to run back with them.

I dont know, but i feel fitness has a big part to play. The midfield running group just cant keep up with the good sides especially. Im a little perplexed with the skills because teams like Collingwood can introduce young players, who dont miss a beat.

We try hard , you can see that, but the last two weeks have shown me its all about skill and run. We constantly turn the ball over = poor skills The opposition always run harder, and get more players loose = More run and speed and run and carry.

Untill Watts learns to love physical contact he wont develop to the next level. Wth the ball in his hands he is a great player.
