Untill we can develop or recruit a star on baller who consistently gets the ball out of the Middle and a couple of quick outside runners we are going to be cut open like this a few more times. Tyson was very disappointing,Jones was tagged and I felt Garlett and Lumumba could have been used more in the middle. We just couldn't keep up with the runners of GWS.

The old melbourne still lurks beneath. We still need a star midfielder who can change a game. Why not put Garlett in there this quarter, have to do something.

He is playing high level competitive sport and has been been paid big bucks for it. If he can't take a bit of sledging then maybe he should take another year off?

Vanders just looks like he is the complete package.....big body, knows how to find the footy, hurts the opposition, kicks goals, great Mark,and good tackler. We've got another like this possibly even better in Petracca , so Future looks good and I love the big bodied team mentality.

I don't neccasarily think that two changes are definate. It could just be Dawes in for Toumpas, and give Bernie another week to be absolutely jumping out of his skin. If not I'd say it would be Brayshaw by the way Roos was speaking. A nice hard bodied senior experienced team to take on the young Giants.

Jack Watts was great, contributed to five scores and Garlett eight score involvements. With someone like Hogan to straighten us up, skilled players like Watts and Garlett had a picnic on the periphery.

Who's the sub?

Anyone can see this is a side based on foot skills . Roos has said before if you can't kick , you would have to be bloody good in all other areas before you get a game in his side. I think they are Slowly moulding their perfect side based on talent available and as we have increased our depth with the influx of new players it gets harder and harder to get a game for those like M Jones and Grimes if you continuously display too many skill errors.

I feel the 22nd player picked will be out of Brayshaw and Michie.....and if that player is to be the sub, which would be Roos way of easing in the first gamer it has to be Brayshaw , not only because of that, but because he is more likely to be an impact player than Michie who just sort of accumulates possessions and is more of a link man.

Hogan , Garlett and Lumumba should make us at least a four goal better side than last year. Factor that in and we would have won eight or nine games last year if they were playing. I would settle for no less than six to eight wins this year, but hoping for more if something clicks of course.

Don t worry about Toumpas , Olly Wines is better than Jack Viney by a mile as well.

Jim Stynes is a legend of the game.....to put someone like a Tredrea ahead of him is a disgrace, and Sheahan is a Melb supporter. Has any other so called supporter done more to disrespect our club than the mumbling Sheahan?

Viney is an ok player so far, hasn't done anything to set the world on fire.

He played on because the silly ump didn't pay the mark.

I thought Gawn was better than Jamar, takes more marks and looks more of a threat up forward. It is disappointing though that none of our home grown players have come on and started to stamp their authority on games, like Toumpas, Viney etc... It takes players from other clubs like Lumumba and Garlett to highlight how ordinary our current players are. There is hope for the future though with guys like Salem, Vandenberg, and hopefully a Brayshaw, stretch and Petracca. What I don't get is the panic during games, choosing the hardest option, which could cause a turnover, rather than protecting the ball with your life, and playing the percentages. But I agree with Roos when he says the mistakes ain't just the fault of the player with the ball, it's the lack of leadership around the ball and not providing enough options for the man with the ball.

That's a lesson in how to lose a game of footy......some pathetic mistakes tonight, by a team that thinks it's better than it really is.....
