  1. That's hilarious,if Frawley can get a game with Hawthorn, and guys like Shoenmakers and young Sicily, then Watts would be a shoe in. With Sam Mitchell and Burgoyne feeding him he would probably kick six every week.
  2. It also changes as time goes on. Initially the team was taught all about defence, but we've added a real attacking element to It this off season, and now it's looking like we are playing real two way football , not to mention being much harder at the contest.
  3. Geez we haven't been in this position for a long long time. Two stars to come in and maybe some youth to go out, so two of Harmes Oliver Hunt Brayshaw. We seem to win when both Pedo and Frost are playing so they must stretch the opposition a bit and make it easier for Hoges and Watts Hard call But I'm saying Garlett for Harmes as both forwards ,and Vince slots into Hunts position.
  4. Not setting the world on fire, but his 15 kicks are like some else's 25 Id like to see him him further up the ground and could develop into a Burgoyne type.
  5. Needed this to set up our year. How poetic that Wattsy is Bog against the team that bullied him in his first game. I think we have a team on our hands,it's early days but the dark days look over. Vince,Vanders,Garlett and Petracca to still come into this side and make us stronger.
  6. 6. Watts 5.Viney 4.Tyson 3.Gawn 2.Kent 1.Wagner
  7. I just watched the game again and we wuz robbed! seriously I counted four goals to North from very iffy free kicks in the forward fifty. Not to mention clear marks that weren't paid to us. All the scribes were hailing the game as one of the best of the year so far.....pity the umpires didn't join the party.
  8. Another umpires goal they got was when they said the kick out didn't go fifteen meters in the first quarter The commentators all said it was a wrong decision

  11. Guys like Kent and Harmes were probably kept in because their form has been pretty good over the past four weeks. They were probably given another chance as well as a few of others, to prove it was just a bad day. Brayshaw didn't seem quite ready and Garlands form has been pretty ordinary. I reckon Pederson could also be out but can't pick the fourth at this stage, but I'm guessing it will be one of the inclusions on the bench like Grimes as Stretch offers much needed pace.
  12. Maybe they are doing it because they plan to move Salem up the field
  13. Wow , that is a big call, they must really think he is ready and up to it. Most likely ahead of Petracca and Trengove. Dunn should be in as well.
  14. I still feel like crap, which is unusual to last three days after a loss as we have had many, but somehow this was different, probably because it seemed to blow all credibility we worked so hard over the preseason and round one to achieve. But also because I took my 14 year old son who comes to three or four games a year with me and hasn't seen a win in three years......just makes me angry.
  15. People talk about Jesse like he is a 200 game veteran. He is still just a developing kid really, and will be constantly learning about the game, tweaking things here and there, his attitude and on field demeanour is just frustration with himself. Sure he needs to break out of the doldrums body language thing and exert himself a bit more, but he had a few mates on the weekend, and last week he won the game for us. In the AFL media, way too much is scrutinised and dissected after just one game of footy.
  16. We can analyse as much as we want but the simple reason we lost yesterday was that they wanted it more than us. They came to play and we didn't. Essendon were much harder at the ball than us and after the match a bombers player was interviewed and he said the theme they had all week and the one thing they wanted to do to us was put us under enormous unrelenting pressure, and then run off us. They wanted to put us under the blowtorch and apply as much heat for four quarters as possible. we were unprepared for it and shell shocked all afternoon.
  17. I definitely agree on the rotating of back men tactic, McDonald should have been shoulder to shoulder on Daniher all game. I alsobelieve that the game day coaching by us was deplorable as you could see what was happening all day but we refused to cover the outside runners
  18. Looks a shadow of what he was last year and I can't understand why.
  19. Really disappointing today, the bombers really came to play and we didn't, which is really surprising considering how much we had to play for. They did their home work on us and played us one on one with ferocious tackling and then spread on the outside and beat us with their pace. I don't understand the coach saying we are tired , its their job to manage the teams preparation and training them to optimum fitness and readiness to play AFL. I think we thought it was just going to happen , but it never did. Big test next week....we better be ready to play.
  20. And all of a sudden Melbourne isn't a fun place to be.
  21. McDonald will never get better , he has had his opportunities,a real Jekyll and Hyde character who gives away as many goals as he saves.....we need to find a better number one defender. Bugg and Garland were just as bad today, so our backline is going backwards, pardon the pun. Salem is a good player but I feel he is being wasted down there, needs to be up the ground a bit more. Jetta is a real winner and showed the others how it is done.
  22. I think we are going to have trouble squeezing in Brayshaw , Lumumba and Dunn for round two, I say give him one game at Casey even though he is hands down in our best 22, it's all about preparation .
  23. 6. Watts 5.Viney 4.McDonald.T 3.Kennedy 2.Gawn 1.Oliver
  24. Imagine when he is fit enough to spend more time in the middle along with Petracca , Brayshaw and Viney? Stop dreaming, the premiership could be a reality in a two to four years time.
  25. Jacks always had brilliance ,tremendous vision and silly skills, and the only thing that was lacking was the aggression and the contested work. It looks like he has addressed that over the summer and looks like no flash in the pan as he has been consistently good four games in a row now. Has the Messiah finally risen?
