Just heard that the Tigers are trying to poach Scully?
made arrangements for him to form drop, so that melb dosen't pick him up.
And if melb do pick him up anyway, than he will only sign for a one year deal and ask to be traded to the tigers?
is this true?

unlike west coast, who smash there young blokes into fitness. (nic nat)
MFC fitness staff are taking the long road in developing young body's.
Putting muscle on young body's is a long process.
young men need to learn how to properly develop there body, for longevity.
-
Rivers is worth more to MFC than pick 9.
maybe Bartrum and pick 18 or Miller and pick 18.
maybe even Miller for Jarrod Morton
-
Brock - Went backwards this year, whether it be due to injury or something else he has planted the seed of doubt in our heads
Beamer - brilliant year, no problems here
Jones - Doubts still remain about his delivery and decision making
Sylvia - better suited to HFF, to occasionally pinch hit in the middle
Davey - B & F, no problems here
Blease - too early to tell, although the type of injury he has finished N Brown
Strauss - too early to tell
Jetta - Promising signs, bigger tank required and some bulk
Morton - too valuable elsewhere on the ground, could play any of 10 positions
Dunn - See Sylvia
Grimes - Will be a gun, lets hope and pray they can cure this back injury for good, no problems here
Buckley - may have been taken over by the young guys coming through
Bartram - Doubts over decision making and disposal
Valenti - Won't be around next year
McKenzie - Sore glimpses but not enough to be automatic selection
Bail - Does not look up to it, really struggled at Casey even playing Casey 2nd's
Scully - TBA
This tells me we really need to take 2 mids with our first 2 selections. I think with Watts, Jurrah, Wonna, Sylvia, Bate and co, in a couple of season there will be enough scoring otions there, just let them get used to playing with one another.
Trengove - too early to tell

Hey guys ive been reading demonland for about two years now, and i have enjoyed reading everyones different opinions.
I think i can help with this topic! I was lucky enough to get invited into the rooms before the game on the weekend,
after about half an hour of being there i noticed John Butcher was in the rooms with his dad, brother and manager
and he was talking to Jack Watts. DB and CC went over and introduced themselves, and i then got a chance to speak
to Butchers dad, he sounded pretty keen for his son to come to Melbourne and stay in Victoria, he said " i think that melbourne could do with another tall forward" and also told me that Butcher is good friends with Watts which would
make it easier for him to fit in if he comes to Melbourne. I also herd his manager say to his dad "i think Melbournes
list is in front of Richmonds re-building wise".
that's good news
-
looks to be the ruckman of the future.
he could be anything.
he's worth a punt at pick 34, if he's still there.
-
Jurrah's had a break out year for the MFC, and has clearly earnt a number change.
should he change? what to?
i hope he dosen't, he could be the best no. 48 the AFL has ever seen.
-
1. Scully
2. Butcher
3. Rohan
4. Morabito
5. Trengove
-
Dylan Grimes rookie!
from what i've heard, this years draft is thin.
if that's true, i don't think D Grimes will make it to the rookie draft.
-
this oppertunity will only come once, the choice is very important.
both Trengove and Butcher are worthy top 5 picks.
would like to see a Butcher, Jurrah and Watts forward line.

"SUPRISE"
-
would like to see Todd Viney back with the red and blue, as midfield coach.
-
use pick 18 in trade
-
Too many midfielders?
1. How do you know that Viney will continue playing footy?
2. How do you know that he will want to come to Melbourne, and that his career will be decent?
3. There are other picks in the draft, not only 1 and 2. You realise that if we take Butcher, we will still get a good midfielder at pick 18. Does that mean we will have too many midfielders? And then there are picks 34 and 50. We still have picks other that 1, 2, and this potential F/S.
There are too many contradictions by some posters.
1. i don't
2. i don't
How do you know MFC will use pick 18, 34 and 50 on mid's?if they take Butcher.
-
Drafted as a KPF I believe - he only has been forced into the ruck cos the Lions have Brown and Bradshaw.
Much like Paddy Ryder.
Very fortunate outcome borne of necessity.
I have serious doubts Butcher could effectively make the same sort of positional change.
Then again, I have serious doubts about him even managing to be a top-shelf KPF at AFL level.
I don't think he'll be much better than Newton.
Butcher will be better than Newton, he is highly regarded.
Butcher is the best KPF this year, he is a worthy top 5 draft pick.
It's a fortunate position for the MFC, regardless of who they take.
-
yes, but not on 15 year old children who still have 2 years to get there in which anything could happen.
I'm also sure that they will not factor this child into their draft choices, which you seemed to have done with Trengove. They may have had a look at him, but not much more.
anything could happen to Trengove, Scully or Butcher. anything can happen to anybody at any time?
I'm sure MFC can work out weather Viney wants to play AFL.
15 year old children? Tim Watson was 16 when he played his first game.
-
You can't serously be thinking ahead that far? What if the kid choses not to play footy? Far out people are already thinking about 15 year old's who think they will play for the club.
2011 is only 3 years.
MFC have a 5 year plan.
-
the only way would be, if he drops to the PSD.
-
I still think the club will choose Butcher and in 3 years time we'll all be stoked they did.
Hope your right.
With jack viney as a father/son in 2011, MFC would have to many mid's if they take Trengove.
-
Butcher definatly has potental to be a great KPF.
he can kick goals easily from out side 50
he has a strong contested mark
he has athletic abilty
he's a good higth
at worst he will be a good ruckman.
-
Molan wasn't considered a top 10 pick he was considered as a pick around the mid 20's. Daniher said he wanted a CHB and to get the best 1 available. Too bad it was a midfielders draft and the selection ended up being a flop. Everyone considers Scully, Trengrove and Morabito as the best players in the draft so they know who they are. In the end it may not turn out that way cause 1 player may go backwards or another may come from nowhere. If they pick Butcher they will be doing a less risky version of drafting Molan cause we will be drafting him out of desperation in finding a key forward instead of recruiting the best player in a midfielders draft.
taking Butcher is far less risky than taking molan.
Butcher is considered in the top 5.
-
Butcher really is a long term project, he will be a afl star in a few years time.
If MFC want things to happen faster then they will take Trengove, if there looking long term then it's Butcher.
The Butcher, Watts & Jurrah show would be great to see in a few years time. But so would the Trengove, Mclean & Scully show.
Lots of people on here got turn off Butcher, when he made comments about tanking. That he wouldn't like to go to a side that tank for him. Just after that people on here started to promote Trengove.
Both are worthy top five picks.
Whoever MFC pick will put pressure on our current players, for there positions on the list.
Trengove will pressure Mclean, Jones & Moloney.
Butcher will pressure Miller, Newton & Bate.
Personally i think that it would be good to have Watts & Butcher, both learning AFL together.
I'd take Butcher
