The face that this thuggery is a fine only is an indictment on the AFL and the game

I'm sure the AFL won't be surprised when all our players turn and do the same to their Geelong opponents at the first siren next Saturday? Only a little tickle.

    Jackson 2.0?

Jack Watts 2.0. The least physical big man I've seen for some time.

Always happy with a regulation 43 point win but my god some of the footy on display especially in the first half was woeful. Can't blame fatigue on this one!

Hogan should get a week and Greene will be out. Ralph reckons just a week which is crazy

Brisbane player last night jumped in the air and collected someone in the head - can't remember who, did anyone see it? Must get a week going by Kozzies suspension.

  4. Saints are pretenders, a pretty B grade list overall. Dogs had the heat on all week, were gonna come out firing, glad I backed them (and didn't make the mistake of flipping last minute like I did last week when I initially backed the Bombers 🤬)

Dogs aren't going anywhere either mind you, two really vanilla teams who put on a snooze fest. Compromising the fixture with 5 day breaks so we can put on games like this no one wants to watch?

Too true. The AFL almost totally relies on , and always has, the support people have for their clubs.

Burn those people, by creating and overseeing an unfair completion combined with the unlikely prospect of seeing their team win a premiership in person, at the peril.

    They are deluded.
The current quality of the spectacle is not that good.
It’s about Club loyalty and always has been.

But they keep telling us how great everything is and their lackeys in the media are so glowing in their appraisal of how wonderful everything is like their week long [censored] up in Adelaide despite the further inequities it creates in the fixture.

Loyalty to the MFC is being superceded by my hate for the AFL.

I have reduced the amount of media content I read, listen to or watch in recent years. Far too many morons and sensationalists. One of the few I still watched or listened to, had been Garry Lyon. Not that I agree with everything he said, but I mostly I have, until.....

Listening to a replay of the SEN breakfast show this morning (avoiding the 70 mins of ads) I had to turn off.

Like everyone I've heard comment on the tribunal outcome, he thinks it's a joke. That's a no brainer. However, like some others, he believed Lever milked it. He then went on to say, he believes the AFL should call Lever to tell him, that's not on.  Furthermore, he said Lever should be told that if he repeats that action, he himself, risks suspension.

Lever's head HIT the ground! It will be of no surprise to people here that I have hit my head hundreds of times. The reaction each time was to reel my head in the opposite direction of impact. It's a natural human response.

Throwing your head back and raising your arm (which causes head contact) to win a free kick is a blight and a dangerous aspect of our game that needs penalising.

I would love the club to call out Lyon, Buckley, Dunkley, tribunal advocates  and any others that are victim blaming here and defend their player.

I would also love the club to challenge the AFL on the difference about what is said and what is done is relation to players health and safety.

Did he say they should also call Rozee after throwing himself back when tackled by Rivers?

    Cameron cleared

Anderson finally had a win at the tribunal despite getting references to players suspended previously incorrect

An absolute farce. I'll always love the sport of Australian Football but I've fallen out of love with the league, just a corrupt organisation.

So Butters gets off? Right call or not? I think it introduces more confusion. I swear someone got suspended for a similar action last year. Was it Rankine?

A very good player and one I’m glad we’re linked to

But if I had to pick one player for us to chase this off season it’s Max Holmes

He’s an absolute jet and just the type of player who would compliment our existing team

Just a shame the Cats beat us to the punch when we wanted to draft him in 2020 😭

I don't get the interest in Holmes. Quick yeah but seems like a poor kick and not sure he's the best decision maker.

With all due respect to the contributors, there’s absolutely zero doubt that the podcast would be twice as good if it were half as long.

No! No no no! Doesn't listen to him Andy, there is nothing wrong with 2hr plus podcasts as long as the content is engaging. I recently started listening to a podcast whose episodes average 6 hours each, that's the beauty of the medium, you are not constrained by pre-conceived timeslots and can leave off and pick up again without missing a beat and allows for long form discussion.

I planned our wedding for the weekend before the footy season starts so we can always go away for our anniversary … and then they went and introduce [censored] round 0! 🙄😡

That's why I got married in November 😂

Wife's birthday is mid-September but I had no choice in that!

  12. Best footy podcast around, it's a never miss for me. I haven't noticed the "um's" but even if there are too many remember these guys are not pros, they are doing it for the love of the club and to provide you content!

One day I will get around to that 5 star review...(Sorry don't use iPhone).

    I agree to a point.

But with the way we play, in particular our incredibly aerobically taxing all team defence and the distances all players have to cover (10 plus ks minimum) backing up after only 5 days is very difficult.

It's all about recovery, and even one less day than the oppo makes a big difference.

They were clearly paddling in the last quarter,  so were the crows,  but I think we are fitter, which made a difference.

Tracc talked post game about how hard they found it.

I've been tracking the impact of the break between games for almost a decade for punting purposes. And there is no doubt when a team has to back up inside 7 days, and the oppo has an extra day break its a huge factor. It's something i always factor in.

Doesn't bode well for our Thursday clash against Carlton off a 5 day break in a few weeks (they get 6 days)
