Centre bounce umpire is dead set on crack. Still can't believe jamar got kicked in the ruck and free paid against him. Bizzaire.
-
Not from demonland, that's for sure. Kind of a negative, wrist slitting vibe on this thread.

Would be great to have jnr back at the club. A heart as big as phar la, it would be great if his approach rubbed off on a few of the current players...
-
Sorry I didn't watch it. What was actually said about scully?

I actually have no family allegiences. In fact, I come from a family of bulldogs (so I guess it could have been even worse!). My dad played in the ammos, colours same as dees. So of course when asked at school I say "demons cause my dad plays there". When asked for his name, I got many blank looks. But hey I was convinced! Since then there has been no looking back. And in any sport I tend to lean to the underdog. Now with a family of my own, I tell my young kids they can support any team they like but if it is not the dEes they cannot come to the footy nor sleep under my roof. Needless to say they are both demons. The little boy is asa tough as nails, so will get him signed up for the red and blue in 2016. I just hope that they see a premiership in their lifetime. Still waiting patiently for mine...

At 1.9m a year and with both current sponsorships expiring, surely we would just find room for both the korean company and bom as the two to replace current ones? Would it have to be either seeing as we currently have two major sponsors (albeit at much lower rates).
-
Not sure you are right there. Kasperksy have been on the record saying how much the sponsorship of MFC has lifted brand recognition. Basically from not being on the radar at all, into the top few IT security providers. What they want to do is to build recognition in the same way in Sydney hence their sponsorship of Manly. It would be (I imagine) a short sighted move to not maintain their brand equity here by cancelling a sponsorship that has worked really well for them. I would think they will look at sports sponsorships across each of the states to give them a similar recognition. I found this.. http://www.arnnet.com.au/article/387817/kaspersky_eyes_nsw_sponsors_sydney_nrl_team/#closeme

Thanks M9. Have also read your blog. Really useful and valuable info. I am going to do it. Thanks again.

I have received a quote from Metro Solar. Good discount for MFC members at the mo and the best deal around. Anyone installed solar power at home? Is it saving you on your electricity bills (which seem to keep rising and rising). Any thoughts on this one would be appreciated.

You are missing the point...man. Clearly you did not hear patrick moron smith on sen. He said all afl clubs stand for something expect Melbourne. I refute that and am trying to point out that we 'stand' for us much as any other club. I think man that you are the one living in the past. In the 1970s to be precise..man...
-
Mate, smith is the biggest [censored] I have ever heard. He copped an absolute serve from one demons supporter, which I loved. He is a smirky and arrogrant imbecile. It is just a stupid commment, what does any club stand for? We probably have more claims than most eg: oldest club, multiple premierships etc.
-
So basically gws trade them to the club that makes the best offer? And if they don't trade they would lose? So if our mid first round pick (plus say morton) was the best offer from all clubs received by GWS, they would trade with us? And if there are four 17 y old picks, is there a ranking system ie: if our offer was best we would have first pick and could pick up o'meara?
-
So Dr Drake, let me get this right: Let's say we lose Scully and get two Rd 1 compensation picks. If we trade with GWS - the result could be: GWS get Scully and our Rd 1 2012 Pick plus say Bate or Dunn or Morton etc (whatever player we negotiate along with the 17yo trade) Melb gets a 17-y-o eg: O'Meara, We get Viney for a Rd 2 pick in 2012 and we still keep our Round 1 pick in 2011. Is that right?
-
Sorry I agree. Should have clarified apart from those listed as a test...
-
Bail, the only one player (apart from Grimes) with a genuine claim to be part of best 22. Touch wood, but we really can't be too unhappy with the state of injuries currently....

I can't see the footy club doing it either. Thank god they are far too smart for that.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
mdemonski2 replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Viney attacks the ball like a bull terrier. Just cleaned up a vic country opponent with a fierce attack on the ball. Heard bodies collide from the stands. Playing up forqard this last quarter though and ball not really going through him much since I've been here. -

The other weird thing is that on the afl site it says there is no change yet he is an emergency. But I thought he played in the last game so how can there be no change? I don't get it. -

so he is not actually playing? that sucks...i was going to pop into the game after work, just to see how Jack goes. i am not going to bother now... -
I also have great memories of when Sean Wight was ripping em apart in the backline. Life can be so cruel and random at times....will be cheering Jared extra hard on Friday night, I know he will do the number 27 proud. RIP Sean.

Totally agree. Who was the turkey earlier on this thread calling for bennell to be dropped? Totally nfi. A few dees around me were v impressed by him today. I have defended Morton previously but geesh he was tres ordaniare today. For me: Out: morton IN: tappy
-
Thanks for update Theo. Disappointing if that is the case but hopefully it is a HOA and not an actual contract. Can you tell me what you mean though by he is showing the classic signs of leaving? Like what?
-
Don't worry. He will get plenty more chances going forward and showing some great sides. I am v happy with the rush and gys back. Gawn unlucky but can't afford the three big fellas (haven't things changed since jamar first got injured and we wondered who the hell would ruck for us!!) And bartram disposal is just horrible and I prefer Bennell to play lockdown role on richmond small forwards cause of superuor disposal. Good side this week - dees by five goals for mine...

Thanks mate. Makes a lot of sense and hopefully some of the chicken littles that post on this topic can indeed chill, be reassured by your voice of reason and, more importantly, enjoy the ride as our young and talented team make their way up the ladder over the next few years.
