  1. i'm a big fan of this guy too....good to see you've used other sources to support this guys cause...i'm impressed with this thread and trengove

people...fast forward to the 5min mark of this link! fantastic stuff!

He was the only one with eyes on the ball!

at the 5:28 mark he shows a bit of pace too.. he loses the ball.. but a little burst of speed like that near the end of a grooling final is pretty impressive!!

  2. Just thought I would let you know that here in SA, the media has gone ape$hit about JT..... His performance was quite staggering IMO

On 5aa (sports show) Stephen Rowe started telling Graham Cornes how he thinks Trengove is as good as Gibbs, McLeod, Riccuito and Wanganeen were at that age.... Cornes' response was, "The bar has been raised, he is better than all those guys at that age, I would put him level with Nathan Buckley".... Not bad!! :)

Those two guys are Glenelg boys, through and through and were praising the kid like crazy!

Luke Norman (Sturt coach) was just on the news here in Adelaide and said that Trengove will be a 200+ game AFL player and that at the start of the year he was touted as a Top 10 prospect.... But now he is certain he will go 1 or 2.... Was pretty stoked that he would go to Melbourne ;)

Norman also said that Sturt is keeping Jack away from the media this week and that he is definately not going to be at the draft camp (obviously).... They just want him to concentrate on the GF on Sunday.... He said that he has a maturity he has never seen before in a young player and that his committment to the club on and off the track has been "phenomenal"

I knew it.... I knew he would come to us.... Thank you God!!!

    Hooooooha!!!

  3. Cameron Schwab on Twitter :

"Jack Trengove played the house down for Sturt today. That's got the twitterers twittering."

Hopefully this means the scouts were there to witness his display..... Got a great feeling he is ours!!

Cam also made an earlier statement whilst watching the TAC Cup GF

"Watching the TAC Cup GF. Anyone looking for confirmation of the value of choices 11, 18 and beyond should tune in. Bit of size as well."

    :D

thats great news! hopefully that pretty much confirms we take him :)

what is the link for his twitter page?

    Jack has said to me-

Has no preferences on where to go in the AFL, Just wants a crack at AFL footy.

I then asked him if the Dees picked him up would he have any temptation to go home like Scott Thompson did?

    He answered-

if i got picked up i would love to be a one club player. there is no incentive at the moment for me to come back to adelaide. i can see myself settling down wherever i went next year. as long as i had a good group of friends at the club i went to, i could see myself staying there for my career.

So yeah thats for all the peeps worried about the Scott Thompson disease haha

    your welcome :)

you spoke to Jack?? How? when? are you serious?

thats great news.. hopefully when he tells that to the melb selectors it will eliminate any doubts of him bailing!

  4. Guys, I was all over picking up Morabito at number 2 and was content with the idea of picking up Trengove but now that we have pick 11 does that force us to pick up Butcher at 2? Butcher regarded by many as easily the best key forward and picking up a player that is in Butchers shadow simply because we need a key forward seems a waste of a high pick when we could pick up a gun in Luke Tapscott for example.

    1. Scully

    2. Butcher

    11. Tapscott

    OR

    1. Scully

    2. Trengove/Morabito

    11. Carlisle/Talia

    ???

i could be wrong.. but you would think Port will pick up Tapscott with their pick.. and if they do trade shaun burgoyne to hawks for their 1st round pick.. then there will probably be 0 chance of him being around at pick 11

  5. So what, Fevola gets [censored] at the Brownlow. Good so would i after a long year. Chill out FFS

You all sound like Ned Flanders. Fev is a good Bloke who enjoys having Fun.

    That is no crime....

    i agree..

most of us have probably had a few nights where we have had too much and feel guilty in the morning! he knows he was wrong.. but i wish the media would get over it.. hes a funny guy who actually has a bit more personality unlike the majority of the footy players out there

  6. Last week I had a conversation with someone as high up as it gets at the MFC.

Anyway we were talking about the benefits of getting Burgoyne to the dees. (At the time he was hopeful not confident of getting him, strictly implying that we wouldn't trade for him, the only way he was coming was the PSD).

I mentioned that if we got Burgoyne, Davey could quite possibly take his game to another level. He agreed and continued to talk about Davey in a glowing manner.

Based on this conversation nothing he said alluded me to the fact Davey would be leaving.

    thank god !!

  7. Ok i will not reveal my source - you would not believe it... The very same source has said the following .. Davey wants out - to play with his brother, the players as a group have no idea what the game plan is and there is much anger about the C.J send off. I know i will not be believed but it was the same conversation about brock. We will have to work hard to keep Flash.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. This is no rumor, this is a fact. Brock will not be at the Dees next year. One more star player is about to walk out the door with him.

another star is going to leave? i hope your kidding!! we need some older stars to stick around and teach the kids!!

The deal that has been put forward is Pick #11 for Brock McLean + swap of 3rd rounders.

where are you getting all of this 'insider information'?

why would the dees swap our 3rd round pick for their 3rd round in the deal? shouldnt they give us pick 11 and their 3rd round pick for say our 4th round pick and brock? he was pick 5 in his year!

  9. This is what I fear the most from this rumour, a player that bleeds for the colours now wanting out? If that's the case then we are in some trouble.

It seems many here though are keen to move him despite a deep and continuing passion for the club (for all we know), which IMHO is just a terrible move. Mclean is the poster boy for a new kind of Melbourne player, tough and loyal, and a leader.

this is a tough call on brock.. i agree completely with you though..

Brock has almost been the new face of the dees.. he bleeds for the club, put his own money in, etc.. the dees are getting the reputation of screwing their players and not giving them much respect (which they admitted recently and said they would try to change.. eg bringing Woey and Farmer back for a club night not long ago)..

it is hard to judge Brocky on recent games because he has had so many injuries.. but he did play some good games this year.. just look at the 'demonland player of the year' thread where he rated fairly high!

having said that.. i agree with most on here that a mid field with Brock, Jones, Moloney might get a little crowded with similar players.. and getting pick 11 could get us someone like Talia, Tapscott, Jetta, Panos, etc

trade week will be very interesting!!

  10. i put $10 on Swan to win

    $10 on Boyd to win

    Goodwin most votes crows

then did a few massive multi bets with all of the favourites from each club.. got it up to about 11 or 12 and chucked $10 on it

nothing massive.. but enough to keep me interested
