  1. I think the issue is not age, but quality leadership. I don't think Dunn & Garland deliver.
  2. One year of Scotty Thompson playing won't hurt us. in 2 - 3 years time our maturity void in the 26yr, & 24 yr brackets won't be a concern. But right now it is. And the leadership at the top end is really low for us. So One year as player & on-field generaling, along with Jonesy, would be very handy in the transition away from Roosy. Our list is full of kids.
  3. McCartney could get the best out of fringe players from GWS, Swans, Crows, Saints, even Cats, Dogs. I hear he could even put rhythm back in some Blues. lets not just sift the tiges.
  4. I would say we may look at de-listed aged rucks who would like to go round again, and a young ruck around 22-23 yrs, who is looking for opportunities. If Vardy gets the shove, that'll be interesting?
  5. He is mobile & a great mark. The only way I could see this working is if he was rookied & played at Casey as a follower/ruck only. Not as a forward, If he showed promise, then maybe worth keeping on to ruck. But I doubt it now after a non existent AFL profile.
  6. No way.
  7. I think Goody, & the footy dept will know if Thomo can get thru games, But remember, he will be able to play both at the Dees & at Casey if needs be. We are still teaching kids in both teams. So his on-field guidance will be beneficial for both. Our recent growth in young players, & in terms of our new culture are not set in concrete, yet. They are fragile. Maturity stability & experience are whats needed, & to maintain the same platform that is bringing us the new positive growth.
  8. 1. to play St.Kilda up in the Northern Territory 2 Essendon round 1 Friday night (saw that Essendon was proposing this. I think it'd be an awesome way to start 2017 with a win at the G on a Friday night)
  9. No, but he can make us better thru his knowledge & guidance. Its leadership we lack the most, followed by speed & skills. In the light of our most recent game at Catland, we do not want to regress next year without Roosy, So I would say that more mature experienced leadership to help support the players, is crucial.
  10. Footy is not all about the kids, like life. Make it all about the kids & spoil them. They must earn the rewards. Goody must want the Thomo in, as confidant, & to help general the troops onfield, Both in the red & blue & also at Casey. He will see close up whats happening on field with the players, as Goody will need to make decisions at the end of 2017, re list management. Thomo would be great to pass on tips & help the leaders onfield.
  11. Absolutely. We have to let Goody set his plans & getting Scotty Thompson back in, a very professional footballer, is a great idea on a short term playing contract. He can also help set the game plan & his maturity will help. The other thing is we can make amends to how he parted & his time when at the Dees, at a time when we weren't developing players very well. I think this can only help us develop further next year.
  12. What about Billy Longer? He's young, & needs some more work, But is tall and has a massive leap. We had a chance at Kreuzer last year. H's had an excellent year 2016. Now Vardy comes up? A possibility to fill short term role? But we still need to get another youngster in, or near youngster like Longer.
  13. Don't worry pd, Eddie won't let Bucks out, until he's polished Bucks right off. Until that time, the end won't be coming for him.
  14. Back to the mcc with you, where you can laugh politely. I'd have Hodge over Judd as player, leader, captain, every day of the week.

    Predictions?

A player with not many weapons has to learn to work harder & harder, & to increase their ability for hard work & pain, each & every season, pushing past their previous limits. I think ANB can do this. Or maybe if he wants to go home one day maybe we could arrange something with Port in the way of player transfer?
  17. Caaarton.
  18. The Tigers need all the most professional types they can muster together to change that club. its been a problem child for far too long, as we were, & as the Saints were up till the end of Tim Watson's time there.
  19. I wonder if the club has been in a habit of paying too much for little return, from the past, and i wonder if those players who demand too much & not performing, are on the outer? This maybe a part of fixing the culture issues, as well ? no more fat cats falling over & refusing to get up?
  20. yes, so if Grimes is kept on, then it must ave been Roosy's issue with him?
  21. Are you thinking, to the Lions for our Christian lad Grimesy, beelzebub. off to the northern Coliseum with him? could be an epic 'howdown?
  22. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-has-tough-calls-to-make-on-jack-grimes-and-jack-trengove/news-story/2baa437e4c13b520fff7f2ab7c7cf54a Melbourne has tough calls to make on Jack Grimes and Jack Trengove SIMON Goodwin will have to make tough calls on two former co-captains in his first weeks as new Melbourne coach. Jack Trengove and Jack Grimes remain out of contract for next season after spending the bulk of the year in the VFL. While the pair will meet with Goodwin early next week to discuss their futures, Trengove, 24, appears more likely to be retained for next season. Grimes, 27, is expected to consider his options in October’s exchange period after only two senior games this year. They are difficult decisions for the Demons as Trengove and Grimes are two of the most popular members of the playing group who shouldered a lot of burden throughout the disastrous 2012-14 seasons. But midfield spots will be tightly contested at Melbourne next season as the club looks to integrate banned Bombers pair Jake Melksham and Michael Hibberd into the senior team.
  23. Did you consider that he is, leading by example. That he is showing the way being aggressive, to the younger players. Take it to the limit, but not beyond it. A fine balance. And perceived pressure.
  24. Deledio is currently 29yrs as we speak. He isn't really in they're future plans. they are not in the running for next 2 years. So he will end up delisted by 2018 as they are rebuilding. they obviously have culture issues at tigerland which have not beeen fixed. They seem to be like we were amateurish. So they need some of what we've had matures to help changer things. The guys I've mentioned have been through the wrong ways, & have witnessed first hand the right ways, recently. They will have learned how to go about correcting the wrongs in footy clubs. This is what the tigers need more than more kids entering into a filthy den. kids need a good culture to develop within. this has to occur first before you bring newbies into a diseased environment. They're are no inoculations for this disease. michie, terllich, jones, your showing youre immaturity and ignorance, of cultures in footy. you seem to think its all about talent, but it is not. its all about what is done with the talent, how it is grown.
  25. grey woof, is that you Blighty ? how many coaches know about native Red Cedars & buttressed trunks? unless they're Qldr's? or landscapers? Are you lookin for a job down here? By the way, I had a dream as well, & it sounds just like yours. But it was in a TiPi, out bush, with squaws in full headdress, & not much else on, but bare skins on the floor & the flickering flames of the fire, teasing the shadows.
