Reduce the interchange bench back to 3 players. And have 2 emergencies, for serious hospital cases only. Reduce the number of rotations by 10 per quarter, from where they are now in 2018. I'll give him a clue; take the rules of the game back to what they all were back in 1993;,,, and then leave them the Hell alone.

I don't see either of those two as Pure-Inside Mids,,, and that's what we need;,,, well rounded Mids to compliment our tough on-ballers. Tyson was hopefully to be this, but hasn't. This is why I say, of these two, Murphy or Sloane. I would think the obvious choice would be Sloane. Add Gaff into this equation, and I still think Sloane. Because with Sloane we have that well rounded Mid who will give us enough time to grow a young kid from the draft to become his successor. I just don't think Gaff is quick enough, for what he will cost us. IF we can only take one more top talent at present, with our cap space, I'd rather Sloane, or De Goey. Of these two, I would prefer De Goey. Rich mans ANB

not only Goodwin.

I'm smelling an AFL push around these matters. Ans since PJ was saying he would stay on 12 months if necessary, to mentor the incumbent. Now it seems October is the deadline? Somewhow I don't feel like this, is all our boards walk?

its time we took a good one.

What do you mean, swyl? I am for Pert.

I hear the Lions need mature players. and leaders. So, of the mature inside Mids in free agency, would you have Murphy first, or Sloane ? This is my main concern, with our current Mid setup. We are currently very one paced, across most of the field. Too much so, for the big games. Now that we are topping off our weaknesses, we need to add more speed. This choice this year, is possibly the last big name we can bring in. So IMO we must get someone who has at least some genuine speed, or a turn of speed. And good decision maker under pressure. I noted DeGoey's kicks, early in the game on Monday under pressure, were very good, and hit the targets, which resulted directly in goals. So DeGoey is dangerous when forward, and when up around the middle. Maybe he is a genuine centreman, in waiting ?

Most likely they did RM. ... but what IF the choice was down to a shortlist of say 3, and the board was divided on close choices. _ and then, what if the choice was leaked from head office, before the board had chosen ? What then ?

"cleanskin", not wearing any collingwood identifying paraphernalia. but rather showing Melbourne's identity.

I don't know the difference in market values,,, only the clubs would. But I do know that a top 10 pick would go a long way towards that end, as trade in part for De Goey. Now I know we all like Gus, but unfortunately he is a long term risk. We are not the complete list, that people have been talking about in recent seasons. And I know one pacy player is not the answer, just as Diamond Jim was not the answer on his lonesome,,, back in the 60's. We need to include about 3 quickish players into our lineup, IMO. Stretch might be one? Hunt at present, isn't. DShiel would go some way to help. Degoey would be fantastic. Gaff wouldn't, IMO. Buying in, would mean, we have to make some tough (ruthless) decisions with our list. We have to enter trade;,,, and yes trade some favourite players.

Simple; one is a goer, & the other is gone.

and hopefully get a little something back.

Brayshaw for top 10 pick. ... pick ontraded for De Goey ?

I disagree on Garlett this year. Hasn't deserved it. You have to earn it,,, by doing the things 'the coaches' and 'the team' want/need. Not watt 'you', want to do only. Watt was quick as well, like a fox, unfortunately. But not so much a 'team' man. just one of the' buoys'. floated around waiting. 'watt of the wisp'. We want pace, with 'attitude',,, or 'brute', see Danger. 'will of the wisp', not so much. I guess that's why we got Spargo, and Baker, both have 'tude'. But both not what i'm talking about. 'De Goey will be hotter property, and I am thinking he's skills are a better investment, than Gaff's gut run. .
-
And all of them were here at a time, 'when',,, and now we need those memories, out of the building. Jones aside, as he is not one to be lead astray; but is a leader. rarity.
-
time: churn the list.

I don't m'nd that idea 'BD'. Junes Big Freeze, on Queens Bi'day.

Why do you say, 'instead of teaching him'? Don't you reckon we've been trying to get him to use the ball better since last season ? The coaches of course, would have been working on that with him. And so we have worked hard on getting ur half back sorted so we use the ball better coming out of defence. We have been much better at this, in 2018. But sadly Hunt has not been able to capture his best form, from the wing. Our depth has miraculously improved from defence, since we recruited Lever, and others last year.
-
that's the spirits buck_nekk. I think that Monday's game result won't effect us one way or the other, come September. Except the next few weeks we might be a bit sharper. The Lever loss has shaken us a bit, Re our goal to goal line. But in the long run, it will make us stronger, when we turn over another find.
-
I already have FAR more respect for Fritz than I ever have had for watts. Apart from Watts's first 3 seasons. He just got worse as he matured.
-
And guess who could have played on him. Lever action. Now we'll have to rely on Joel ? I guess. We're all half right, you bloody lefty, you you you you.
