We've been linked with both Hirst and Lowson so if Carlton go for Deluca then we should end up with one of them.

I'm guessing Gold Coast go for Dunkley.

I hope so...  a better chance of nabbing him later.

Late in the GWS game cops evicted several Giants supporters from the northern stand...anyone here know anything?

Saw that, don’t know exactly what happened. They were seated in level 2 of Northern and Melbourne fans from Level 1 were looking up and cheering the eviction.

Edit: Isn’t Level 2 Northern a premium reserved seating area for us?

Ok what conditions actually suit Pruess??

Recruited for ???????? Plays several games . kicks two goals in two of them, and still in a team berefit of big man strength and physical presence cant get a game??? Spare Me

More to the point, what conditions suit playing two Giant rucks...  Ideally non slippery conditions.

Possibly Darwin at night,  is the worst conditions to go in with two beanstalks,  and one less small runner.

Preuss I think will get plenty of chancres to play 2 rucks in the run home...  and as the weather starts to warm up again,  I think two rucks will become more likely.

Ins: Lewis, Salem, Hibberd, JKH, Weids, ANB

Outs:  J Wagner, C Wagner, Fritsch, Spargo, Stretch, TMac (even if just a rest, he's spent)

Tim Smith should stay in, only one remotely looking like key forward today

A few others looked sore... Petty was limping a bit

... time to re-start this teams evolution.

Theory is,  not to go in too tall,  up in Darwin.

It's probably too early to get this thread going but whatever.

In an ideal world, we'd get back Salem and maybe Hannan too.

I'd be looking for replacements for Petty, Spargo, C Wagner and T Smith.

So maybe that's Salem, Hannan, Weideman and ANB?

Ins from Hibberd,  Salem,  Neal-Bullen,  Weideman, Lewis.

    Too soon IMO :

    Lever,

    Hannan

    May

    Kolodjashnij

    Kennedy-Harris

I think these guys need more game time in their bodies,  before selection in our AFL jumper.

    #   I don't think Preuss suits Darwin at Night...

Here is an even more amazing comment the Weid played well in the first half, our first two goals were from him taking two good contested marks and kicking truely. He was in the top few players in the first half. After half time our entries into the forward dropped amazingly and when they did happen they were so poorly delivered JC would have struggled. Now you all know I have not been a big fan but with our lack of forwards he must play next week.

Give him a couple of weeks i reckon  'OD', to let his body adjust... he must have missed a lot of training off legs,  early in his injury period.

He'll need some match conditioning,  shirley.!

etracca has done a lot right this season, but that internal spray they gave him mid last year for not passing off in one set up has really damaged his confidence. His goal kicking wasn't great in the early part of last year, but it has got worse since the moment that selfish play of his was allegedly pulled out in front of every team mate.

IF this is true,  then he doesn't Have what it takes to be Elite...  nor a strong AFL player.

Frost is such a polarising player. He has moments where I sit back in amazement with his chasing, tackling and courage in the air only to see him completely shank something so simple later on.

I think Hore is just a solid role player and chipping away nicely.

I saw this thread whilst playing golf with a fello dees supporter yesterday who summed it up asking would you rather play an even round with 18 pars (Hore) or an even round with 9 birdies and 9 bogeys (Frost)

I’d still lean towards Frost as we need all the speed we can get but christ he stresses me out with the pill in his hands

And he stresses out the opposition,  our team,  and all supporters who don't know what he will bring...  but He brings excitement....    and he livens up the side, lifting team intensity.  Instead of putting them into a slumber.  with a tranquilising effect.

It comes back to that perceived Effort thing... Frosty inspires,  much more often than deflates.  imv.

It seems OMc has a habit of making nervous nellies, mental wrecks  watching him play.

Its back to the VFL in my book, within a few of weeks.

We need the likes of Brayshaw and Petracca to be at a much higher level than they are. They are meant to be our blue chip stocks. Not our cheese and onion chip stocks.

Our midfield is Not as good as what people were Hoping/Projecting for,   last year.

Oli and Brayshaw both spray their possessions....

And Tracca is in traction,  half the time.

Jonesy is cooked and needs to be a 2nd fiddle mid.

AnB is severely limited,  as is Stretch.

Gawn is great when he's hitting his targets...  apart from Not taking enough Marks for a dominant big-man.

Harmes is the real deal and improving still.   And would be my early candidate fror a future captain of this club.

    .............

If Whitfeld were to wear RednBlue that could release Salem into the midfield.?

We need to hit the Draft. Quick.

All VFL standard footballers. Some may get there but right now there is a lot of battlers above.

A good team has to carry some players and that’s where role players can shine. Usually it’s only when 3 or 4 of the above get a game.  No team however can carry a dozen fringe players like we are and can expect to compete.

Unfortunately when the heat was on today, GWS looked faster, tougher and hell of a lot more skilful than our mob.

There cue was well and truly in the rack for the last and I take nothing from that.

Even with all the effort in the world you need some skill across the group and there is so many in that team who have minimal

We need another InFlux of talent.

Hopefully starting with Coniglio... or Whitfield.

... then the 2019 National Draft.

Four weeks less pre-season. I agree the first four weeks were unacceptable, we were and continue to be terrible, but a slow start to the year can be the norm after making it as far as a prelim.

We still lack the runners required imv,  'ET'...  endurance... and speed players as well.

As seen early season,  its too hard to do last years press,  under the 6.6.6.

There is a little bit of  'front-runner',  still in this club/team.

It's gunna take some time,  to change that cultural Habit.

I just want to know what we think we are going to do with Goodwin idiotic contract extensions if these sorts of performances continue?

It's a Gap year.  nothing will change that and we will be back UP where we will belong next year.

Most teams have this happen to them over the past 20 years.

Its just we had a fantastic  'tour dee form',  later last season.    And many here got too-far ahead of themselves...  just as many of ourt players did.

Having watched him on tv the last couple of weeks (whereas I normally watch the game live), and he is just not going into contests. Refuses to bend, tackle, or raise his arms. Can’t break out of a jog.

I am going to assume he is injured

    Back injury.?
