  1. Can't agree with the above assessment of Jimmy Toumpas. Along with Magner, who's probably BOG here, Toumpas is dominating. There's also a bloke over at Port Adelaide called Hartlett who probably fitted the above description of Jimmy T but is now considered to be moving towards elite midfielder status.
  2. They're blazing away a bit but have Port's measure although the Borough seem a bit undermanned. Shane Valenti usually kills Casey but he's not out there today.
  3. That's the difference at half time with Casey Scorpions 5.9.39 leading Port Melbourne 3.4.22. 1/2 time: Casey 5.9.39 Port Melb 3.4.22. Leading Possessions Magner 19 Toumpas Davis Sellar 15 Goals Page 2 Couch Fitzpatrick Toumpas
  4. Scorps getting on top now. Lead by 17 points after goals from Toumpas, Couch and big Jack F after a big strong mark. This kid is a big improver.
  5. Page now has two goals and Casey lead narrowly. Did I just hear the right score from Essendon v GWS?
  6. Port lead narrowly at qtr time - 2.3.15 to Casey 1.5.11 Nathan Page is the goalkicker.
  7. 10. Apologies for lack of transmission but I had iPhone issues tonight. Still a great win for the Casey Scorpions with some great signs for the remainder of the year for Melbourne with quite a few players returning to the park. More reports tomorrow.
  11. Either that or low on battery power Casey Scorpions 4.4.28 6.5.41 13.8.86 14.8.92 Williamstown 0.2.2 6.7.43 7.10.52 9.15.69 Goals Casey Scorpions Fitzpatrick 4 Dawes Dunn Taggert 2 Best Hogan Kent Page Williamstown Cordy 3 Nastasi 2 Addison Grant Howard McCallum Best Casey Scorpions Dunn Couch Fitzpatrick Magner Page Spencer Williamstown Markovic Lockwood Addison Cordy Wood Sing
  12. Jack Fitzpatrick starring. Casey has been very good this year in its third quarters and tonight was no exception. Three quarter time: Casey Scorpions 13.8.86 to Williamstown 7.10.52. Fitzpatrick has four goals including three that quarter. Lynden Dunn starring down back and causing damage with a couple of long goals coming down the ground. James Magner in everything in the midfield. The game's not over yet but I'd rather be in front, even against this wind.
  13. Dawes goals - takes the lead to 28 points.
  14. Three goals to the Scorps and they go to a handy break in the early stages of the third quarter. Jack Fitzpatrick doing a lot of damage up forward.
  15. To answer a few of your questions. Dawes kicked the first goal & moved ok in the first quarter. Starved a bit against the wind. Spencer is playing and doing well in the ruck. Strauss who was also named an emergency for the Demons, is playing well again and is pushing for promotion. Would be good if he could get the call up for the Carlton game, the club that he had that bad break against 2 years ago. Nicholson is the emergency who flew to Brisbane with the Melbourne team.
  16. Relax folks. Apparently nothing more than a bad corkie. Off for the night anyway. NOw, where do I find a hot dog in this darkness?
  17. Fitzpatrick goal makes it a 2 point game at half time. Casey Scorpions 6.5.41 to 6.7.43 Massive possession stats to Dunn: Dunn 21, Couch 14, Magner 14 and Strauss 12 Goals Dawes Dunn Fitzpatrick Hogan Kent Taggert
  18. Into time on and Willy hit the front 6.5.41 to 5.5.35. The last two goals from free kicks.
  19. Fightback by the Scorps who lead by a goal. Nice running goal from Kent.
  20. Lead now down to a point with Willy dominating.
  21. Seagulls get the first two goals of the second term, the first from a turnover from a kick in.
  22. Great start but restricted in the second half of the term. Casey Scorpions 4.4.28 to Williamstown 0.2.2. The wind advantage is at least that so the Scorps have the task ahead of them in the next term. Goals: Dawes Dunn Hogan Taggert
  23. Goal to Taggert and the lead goes out to 4.2.26 to 0.1.1.
  24. Meanwhile, the Casey Scorpions development league team lost the curtain raiser by 69 points. 2013 AFL Victoria Development League Casey Scorpions 2.4.16 3.5.23 7.12.54 7.12.54 Williamstown 2.1.13 10.4.64 11.4.70 19.9.123 Goals Casey Scorpions Hughes 2 Barry McInnes McPhie Pollard Smith Williamstown Ball Coneay Deery 3 Anastasio Burgess 2 Giles Hetherington McConnon Norton Polizzi Williams Best Casey Scorpions Tynan Hill Troutman Pollard Hughes Lindsay Williamstown Hoghton Hetherington Giles Dorgan Deery Casley The Casey Scorpions are supporting the White Ribbon Campaign tonight - it's the campaign against violence on women and congratulations for supporting a very worthy cause.
  25. Dawes, Hogan & Dunn with early goals give Casey a three goal lead in blowy conditions at Casey Fields.
