  1. I think you're right on the money Dee tention. Reckon they will (and should) pick Scully and Trengrove as 1 & 2 and try and look for a KP with a trade. Trengrove has climbed significantly in a lot of people's minds due to his game against Vic Metro. He reminds me of a young Mark Bickley who finds the ball very easily and uses it exceptionally. He like Scully has leadership qualities stamped all over him. Freak having seen Butcher play twice this year, I don't think he has the potential to be an A+ grade player. He doesn't have the workrate or the attitude at this stage of his career and I personally don't know whether he can develop it. Whilst he's certainly got many strong qualities his height should not necessarily dictate that he goes as high as pick 2. As the game is getting quicker and quicker (especially when you consider the WB, Geelong, the Dons extra speed this year and why Collingwood are so hard to play against). It isnt the height, rather the speed and their ball movement. For what its worth I think Ben Griffiths would be a good pick up, although a bit of unknown to many that I would love to see at the Dees is Nick Westhoff (from West Adelaide), who is the cousin of Justin & Matt Westhoff at Port. Nick Westhoff is a 198cm, full forward who has been playing in the seniors at West Adel. Has a basketball background similar to J. Watts is very athletic (with very strong workrate) and making waves in the SANFL. Recently kicked a couple of bags of 4 and 5, with a massive upside to his potential.
  2. Ricky and Yze Magic - I have to disagree and believe that he shouldn't be playing. The reason Jack hasn't been picked is due to his development. Whilst he might be the no 1 pick and best teenager in the country, he still is only 17 and in school. The difference with other No 1's is that very few of the past top 5 players over the past few drafts have been in yr 11 when drafted, and yr 12 during their 1st year at an AFL club. From memory Luke Ball was in almost the same scenario (except being a no 2 pick and not a KPP). Others in the same boat are Sam Blease, Hannebery at the Swans. By playing them too early when they're bodies aren't ready for it is a diservice to their development. What are they going to achieve by playing them too early? Satisfy a few supporters like yourselves for a very short time, before they suffer a long term injury ala Schwarz due to being rushed.
  3. Wona and Sylvia have absolutely no chance of being selected this week. Sylvia has played only half a game in Casey 2nds since being dropped and his form was far from that expected. Considering that both didn't play on Saturday for Casey, and the fact that Wona confirmed on sat that he's still another 2 weeks away due to more hamstring issues, I find it almost impossible for the selection committee to consider either of them (notwithstanding how good both of their preseasons have been). IN: Martin, Maric OUT: Jetta, Bennell
