  1. if we look at the actual picks in and out with the players in and out it looks something like this. (Not positions) Steele for petracca CJ for spargo Miochek for clarry Max heath for McVee Pick 7, 8 and 37 for being ship in 2025 GC 2026 1st round making up somewhat for huge losses on all the players Look I get it. We can’t be at the bottom when tassie come in. Had to make moves now and it’s unfortunate that it’s not on the back of another 2 flags with the list we had. Break ups hurt when ur in love. That’s how I’m feeling. Very sad. Anyway my brain going through it again knows that being down the bottom has helped us get the picks we have had to bring in 4 first rounders the last 2 years - members of the next MFC premiership team we all hope. The rebuild is being fast tracked and the emotion in the reality sucks but long term it will be better for us. Just not the clarry one. We got rolled there and that pisses me off. He will dominate next year and we will be the laughing stock.
  2. Can whoever ends up with pick 2 go on a bidding frenzy and make these clubs pay up. Thankyou
  3. It’s not on the run anymore. It’s full blown. GWS have been cheating since day one with scully’s old man. Got us with him, Bedford and now clarry. Can we pick one of their most promising off? I’m going to hate watching clarry run around dominating not for us
  4. So disillusioned with this club. So sick of getting steamrolled when we have the upper hand. Make gold coast give up a future first and then give them back a future second and pick 28 King is starting a long way back in my book with how he is coming in and making a fire-sale with clarry. So over it all
  5. Possibly. Either way i think we’re keen to move up further and we’d still do that to get pick 3. Drive a harder bargain and get one before pick 18 if its going to get north pick 1 and 6. Mckercher, duursma or watson gets shaken out that way and a chance for sanders for north at 6.
  6. Definitely gives some room for a big fish. Who are the free agents of 2024? Im thinking we are every chance not to have a first round pick after this trade period so free agency could be good for us. HP might mean we get one from adelaide if he requests and we relent next year.
  7. something that’s been bugging me as I'm not 100% across the list rules and ability for teams to stockpile picks for players that are bid on. I note gc and dogs have 10 picks each to match academy and father son. I was of the impression you could only have as many picks as you have list spots available. Does this mean that after delistings, retirements and trades that both those teams have a few players that remain unsigned to fulfil this requirement and following the the draft they are then re signed? Does the gold coast still have the concession of a larger possible list size they were granted as part of the list concessions a few years ago? is there an opportunity to scour these lists and pry one out as a delisted free agent as if you are uncontracted after the draft you can delist yourself and sign where you like before list lodgements? I’m not sure who’d be available but if the list rules are as i think they are, it’d be worth investigating.
  8. Dogs have traded future 1st to get pick 4. hawks/north wont trade future first as it could be top 5 pick again. we have no qualms trading a future first. Will prob want something back though.
  9. Yeah think we need to snag a lycett or hayes as a delisted free agent. Surely ine of them is about to be cut with port picki g up 2 rucks in the trade period
  10. 6 and 11 for 3 and 18 3 and future 1st for 1 and future second
  11. I think its a good sensible move. Need some depth and experience to replace what we have lost in jordan and harmes. Haven't really addressed our obvious key fwrd needs but im sure they tried. I think the grundy experiement really has cost us a year in terms of geting in the ears of a key fwrd, either last trade period or this one. Dont think we wont still try and move up the draft board
  12. To me this has a last minute ‘oh yeah we’ll take him feel’ like lachie hunter last year
  13. I think riv and mcvee are signifficantly positionally different from billings and so can still have both. Brayshaw jordan laurie and harmes minutes he would take if in the seniors. Not riv or mcvee. i am looking forward to seeing mcvee after another pre season. Work on one on one strength and get him chasing kozzie all pre season.
  14. I’d be interested in picking up Jack Billings. Saints are pushing him out so hardly going to cost much in draft capital. I think if we spread his 2 year contract over 3 years he’s a good james jordan replacement. Think we would like him to push into the midfield and he has ability. We need some depth in the mid with dunstan and jordan and likely harmes off our list.
  15. Im thinking outside the box here. Say we dont have a big fish on the hook and we suddenly have a fair bit of salary cap space - jordan, hibberd, harmes, grundy. Thats well over $1 mil spare could to benefit us, we trade grundy to swans and say we pay sydney his 600k salary for a year. And even 400k the year after but bringbit forward to next near they give us pick 11 sydney pays some of that money to jordan and it inflates his value per the comenatory pick we get. So it ends up being a first or end of first round? jordan wins the most out of this but also sydney get grundy and and extra mil in the cap for a year. Melb get a decent trade value and conpenstation pick for grundy and jordan.
  16. I for one am stoked we no longer have an O’Brien on our list
  17. Pick 10 was O’Brien to carlton
  18. hillie replied to Goffer's topic in Melbourne Demons
we have no picks in the rookie draft
  19. think gawn is ahead of spencer even with the knee injury. spencer is on the rookie list for one. gawn can take a contested mark, kick the goal iwhile resting in the forward line and is a lot more coordinated than the big spence. i really like this pick and think he'll be alright. really think he'll be quite damaging offensively, just hope he doesn't end up like max bailey and not be able to get on the park.
