  1. Took me a minute to figure out what all the Dunn references were. Bit slow on the uptake - must be tired Done Lynden all the same. Good luck.
  2. My money is on him wearing Brisbane colours next year. This just smacks of the good old "negotiate by media" stunt so many player managers pull each year.
  3. I thought the Jordan McMahon worship was amusing last year, but I reckon now that he gets way more credit than he deserves. It's just embarrassing now. I reckon we should just let this very forgettable footballer disappear in to history with the rest of all the other very forgettable footballers and leave it at that.
  4. Heh, well done. My favourite was Cameron Croad - quit Carlton so he could go smoke weed with his mates in the bush. Nice.
  5. Correct. We could've also taken Grimes with PSD #1, but chose Joel Macdonald instead. Redleg says that he's disappointed that we couldn't get him. I'm not disappointed at all because it's not that we couldn't get him, but that we chose not to. I'm yet to see any evidence as to why we should be kicking ourselves other than the fact that his surname is Grimes.
  6. Indeed. I've always wondered whether McLaren would receive the beating he cops from fans if James Hird had not singled him out on TV.
  7. I agree with that, but I wouldn't put anything past the current Essendon administration.
  8. Wasn't he part of the proposed Fevola deal but gazumped it because he didn't want to move to Melbourne? Also, bit early for the silly season isn't it?
  9. Did you read the rest of my post or just that line?
  10. Does this really need to be worked on as a primary concern over summer? Looking back at our year, our skills by foot have been absolutely fine in the weeks we're playing well. We're not West Coast with a team full of butchers; most of our guys are capable of hitting their targets. I wouldn't read too much in to today's game. We seemed to be off in a number of areas where we've been strong through the year.
  11. I'm dead against the idea of trading in complete duds regardless of their size or position, and if Newton is the currency you're offering, that's the very best you'll get.
  12. One game of zero consequence undoes a whole season of good work? You've got to be kidding me.
  13. That's got to be the worst logic I have ever heard.
  14. Who said anything about "the boys"? Why does everyone seem to assume that because a supporter says they don't care about a match, they're also implying that they think the players shouldn't care?
  15. Not just the Melbourne Demons. The Melbourne Demons and their journey to a premiership. This match offered plenty of the former and none of the latter. It was the fourth test when you've already won the Ashes. Sure, you might still watch, but you know the result has no bearing on anything of consequence.
  16. I did nothing of the sort
  17. All the things that interest me in AFL football were absent from this game - and this was true before the first bounce, it had nothing to do with the result. So much so that I wasn't even going to bother watching but for the grace of a TV being nearby where I was - I decided that I'd stop revolving my family life around when the footy was on this week rather than in two weeks time. If that doesn't meet your standards for supporter attitude then I'm afraid that is your problem and not mine.
  18. I missed round one unfortunately (fortunately?) but the West Coast loss was definitely the most disappointing for me. What an embarrassment - those guys are woeful. In Melbourne too Best win was definitely the Sydney one, that game was almost faultless. It could've been 100 points if it wasn't for Adam Goodes.
  19. I didn't say it was unimportant, I said it held no interest for me. There's a huge difference. This year I was looking for the signs that we're capable of playing football capable of matching it with the best sides. That was met after the Sydney game (not the best opposition but an exquisite brand of footy played by us) - then we hit purple patch of form that brought our faint finals hopes back to life. Then we lost to Hawthorn. As far as I'm concerned I've seen the improvement I wanted to see. I've seen where the team is heading, I've seen our young guns, I get what the plan is for the side. Finals are gone. There's nothing else I want to get out of this season. Therefore I've got nothing but token interest left, especially for a game in that shitheap that is AAMI stadium that we were always going to lose anyway.
  20. I liked Goddard's better - don't know why. Just seemed to be more sweetly timed. Jurrah's was an absolute ripper though, would easily be MotW any other week.
  21. Wow, sorry guys, I had no idea my poor attitude towards the game would have such a huge bearing on the result. I won't let it happen again Important it may well have been for the players, for me it held zero interest. I make no (sincere) apologies for that.
  22. James McDonald's 250th was the only reason I even remotely had any interest in this game. Port at AAMI when the season is over. Yawn. Bring on 2011. Wake me up in March please.
  23. Eh? No he wasn't. Sure you're not confusing him with Dustin Fletcher?
  24. Especially considering he'll be the only rookie retained if that was the case. Hard to imagine us wanting to take a sixth rookie at the end of a draft that will have been completely and utterly pillaged by that stage.
  25. Moloney is far and away the best choice in the mid-20s bracket. I'd be disappointed if Davey was chosen - I can't help but remember the number of times I've seen him give away a 50 for carrying on about a decision - and I don't think anyone else would be on the radar.
