  1. Because there's no consequence for him being wrong. If I were rpfc I'd be telling you about how I recognise that tree...
  2. Is it that there were fewer instances, or is it that there were fewer reports of it? Skilton might not have a brain disease, but that's got nothing to do with anything really. You don't have to have been the best player to suffer these consequences, you just have to get hit in the head a lot.
  3. Wasn't correcting your opinion buddy, I was correcting your incorrect assertion of the facts. Thanks anyway.
  4. Do they really? Everyone knows that in footy you might get a bit hurt, but I doubt too many of the 6 year olds signing up for AusKick know that they're potentially signing themselves up for a lifetime of degenerative brain disease that might not actually catch up with them until they're in their 50s.
  5. Hyperbole. There's no doubt opinion on Jones as a player have been polarised, but to say that "very few people" are in his camp is complete garbage. A few months ago when I thought he was struggling, I remember being surprised at the amount of love he was getting in the POTY votes etc. FWIW right now I reckon he's currently playing the best footy in his career.
  6. Kick it forwards in to a 3 on 1 instead?
  7. 8. I think the potential upside outweighs the price we'd fetch at this point in his career.
  9. Exactly. The original question of "what's he got to do" got answered on Saturday night: "that".
  10. The realist in me says we'll lose the lot as we're worse sides than all of those other teams. The optimist in me thinks we'll pull a rabbit out of the hat at least once. Our best chance is Carlton at the 'G' I think.
  11. I'm still struggling to see what's achieved by finishing 8th this year. If it's West Coast or Carlton it doesn't matter - we'll come up against a side a class or two above where we are and we'll be given a lesson. Sure it'd be nice for our guys to at least experience a final, but I don't care one way or the other whether we park in at 9th or 10th or if we fall over the line and finish 8th.
  12. If it's okay to play games in Canberra in the middle of winter then it's definitely fine for Hobart. It rains more and gets much colder in our nation's capital. I'd be absolutely stoked if MFC played a game here from a purely selfish point of view!
  13. Not his best game by any stretch, but "better with out him" is massively overstating it. Extremely unfair.
  14. The Morton bashing is getting repetitive and tiresome. We get it. Morton's not popular on Demonland at the moment. Hurrah.
  15. The 'fallaway' is forgiveable in the conditions.
  16. We just explained it clearly to you - it's because he's gone. Don't you get it?
  17. Must be gone then.
  18. Why was Watts bad?
  19. People who copped a neck injury and may have required further medical attention? Just a guess of course, but there's a hundred legitimate reasons beyond the tinfoil hat stuff.
  20. 6. Petterd 5. Sylvia 4. Martin 3. Moloney 2. Frawley 1. Trengove Found the votes pretty easy this week, oddly.
  21. I didn't realise that was the rule. Like you're alluding to I doubt it's deliberate - but what a fantastic side effect if Scully does sign.
  22. I'd imagine with the support the club has built around him, it would be Melbourne or nothing.
  23. Odd post. I'm pretty sure the COC doesn't say "no slandering the players because they're all good boys".
  24. Thomo, Jack already covered most of this in his OP. One thing I will say though is once these threads get legs it becomes a full time job to moderate them. It wouldn't be uncommon for the Scully threads to grow by 5 pages in between Demonland visits for me on a busy day, and I visit several times a day. The other thing is that it's so painful to read that sometimes I just don't want to look. So unless someone devotes themselves to just sitting there watching the Scully thread all day and night, occasionally the threads are going to get more momentum than the mods can keep on top of. The other thing is that I don't think a lot of pearls of wisdom have been lost in the locked threads have they? And once again I implore people to use the "Report Post" button (bottom left of each post) to help make the job of monitoring poor posts easier.
  25. Yep, agreed. I had hoped that Martin might step up with the rule changes, but even at my most optimistic I didn't see this degree of improvement coming. Easily the most pleasant surprise of the year. It was always just a matter of time for Watts IMO.
