  1. From the article Middle men see Dees home: Having a teammate that you can just implicitly trust to take the grab must be invaluable.
  2. On what grounds?!
  3. Spencer is all heart, is aggressive, and has a crack all the time without exception. That's why I hate that I agree with GSOAG, he's not good enough.
  4. Not sure about best ever, but it's bloody nice to have a bloke (or two - Clark) who you can almost actually rely on to take contested marks. It's not a luxury we've had a lot of in the last couple of years.
  5. Agreed. Absolute joke that he gave the one vote to Green and not Nathan Jones.
  6. My reaction to this is pretty much the same as it has been the last few weeks, because we've played the same way. The only variable is the quality of the opposition. I'm grateful for the win. Still can't wait for this season to end.
  7. Got wiped out by Captain Grimes in a contest.
  8. Howe signs for three years. Damn, Jars had me convinced Howe was off to SA.
  9. My five year old daughter says to me "why do you bother watching? You know they're not going to win.". I wonder how she got so cynical at such a young age, then I realised she was born post-season 2006 - we've been absolutely rubbish for her entire life. Depressing.
  10. Significantly less than it would be worth at the draft table.
  11. Seems odd doesn't it? I guess we'll see. Spencer to ruck 90% of the game, Sellar the rest? The hair on the back of my neck is standing up.
  12. I had a look through the rules: http://afl.com.au/Portals/0/2012/AM_6967_0112_AFL_laws.pdf I searched for key words like "outcome", "result", "loss", "lose" and "affect" and found nothing relevant to what you've said. I scanned the contents and couldn't even find a relevant section that might cover this.
  13. Return home from the alternate universe.
  14. At least with Brock you can understand - he's a none-to-bright footballer who was baited by a pair of parasites. I'm still reeling at Gardner's decision to stick his beak in with a bunch of crap that doesn't even stack up. Frustrating.
  15. I just laughed embarrassingly loud in the office. Anyway, I'll stop derailing this topic.
  16. How could anyone forget Scott Chisolm? I'm trying to think of a worse field kick I've seen in my life, and I mean from any club, and I can't think of one. He was just... wow.
  17. I liked your post because it's spot on, but I'm a bit confused because you seem to be arguing against your own OP.
  18. Piss the AFL off before the investigation has even started - good plan. Why not give it the opportunity to blow over on its own first? BTW, I believe the club should make a statement to or about Gardner, but that's a story for a different time I think.
  19. Precisely. So much getting knickers twisted over so little substance. This all stems from a dumb comment from a dumb footballer that had words put in to his dumb mouth by a couple of parasites sitting on a couch. Those who want our senior management to "come out swinging" want them to swing at phantoms. And as rpfc said (in the other thread?), the wording of the statement is subtly clever. It implies the AFL are investigating Brock McLean, not the MFC.
  20. Anderson has the same driver to make it go away as Vlad.
  21. Yencks? Was a very regular poster once (posted as "Nugget Jones"). Haven't seen him around for ages, though the account is still active apparently. Edit: How about that? From the 2009 version of this very thread. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/16202-mcc-committee-election/
  22. It's a relief to know that in 9 pages of this thread, we've arrived at the same point I posted in post #3.
  23. Nothing will happen as nothing will have changed. As always one loss or one win in isolation mean nothing at all.
  24. As soon as I saw the thread title, I knew you were going to say "this season to end". I couldn't agree more. It's the longest, most drawn out car crash I've ever witnessed. And unlike yourself Jarka I'm not at all sorry for saying it.
  25. Same. Nice to see we've got some ex-players with at least half a brain. We didn't throw matches. We didn't organise players to miss goals, give away free kicks or use the ball badly (they did that all on their own). Winning wasn't the top priority, but that's nothing new in football. It's no different to clubs that can't make the eight sending all their "not quite fit" players in for surgery early to get a head start on the pre-season. I did like this bit of the article though: lol. Good one Robbo. I can just hear him saying, "I don't want to comment because I'm an employee of the club and I don't want to get sacked". Ok! Apparently just a "no comment" is not sufficient.
