  1. Technically I didn't name names. Nonetheless, the bottom of the barrell hasn't been reached yet re: NZ. (Can I say that?)
  2. Eww. We'll have to start calling you Barry, H_T.
  3. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
  4. Our sport really does not need this. 99% of me desperately hopes this is false. But if someone must be found guilty, Essendon is a good choice. 1% of me wants this to be true.
  5. This made me feel sick to the stomach, regardless of who it is. I hope the player is ok.
  6. *Any posts that name the player, allude to who the player is, or attempt to narrow down who the player is will be deleted on sight.* (even if it's clearly tongue in cheek - sorry Billy)
  7. Billy, Hogan is a listed Melbourne player.
  8. I've uploaded Six6Six's photos. There are *lots* (great work Six6Six!), so we don't flood the thread I've only posted the first 5. The rest can be found on this link: http://demonland.com/training-28012013-six6six/
  9. Six6six, I got your PM but can't respond or do anything while I'm browsing from my phone. I shall give you a hand in an hour or so when i'm at the PC
  10. This is how society's attitudes change though. There's a (very long) period of ignoring the elephant in the room, then a period of "shouting it from the rooftops", and lastly comes acceptance. I'm quite happy to move from the first period to the second on this issue.
  11. Good story and I fully agree with his stance. The fact that it is still something that needs to "come out" shows that we've got a long way to go in our society in regards to acceptance. I look forward to the day when homosexuality (or any-sexuality) is not some big secret we need to muster up the courage to tell our family and friends.
  12. Then again, maybe not? Wrong era it would seem - although "went to school with" is a very loose term, it could mean one was in year 12 at the same time the other was in year 7. FAMILY TIES Melbourne draftee Michael Newton (No. 43), from the Murray Bushrangers, is no relation to the Demons’ media manager, Leigh Newton, although the former ruckman has a brother called Michael, who went to school with this Michael Newton. If that makes any sense. Source: The Age via diesel_18 on 'ology: http://demonology.midnight.net.au/Index.PHP?Mode=Forum&SubMode=DisplayPosts&MessageThreadID=10498&BoardType=0
  13. 1999 - M Newton could be Michael Newton, brother of Leigh (referenced about half way through that article). I vaguely remember the earlier Michael Newton coming up in discussion once on Demonland when talking about "our" Michael Newton (which is how I knew to try and track this guy down), but I can't find the thread now. If I remember correctly it was around the "Juice" nickname and how it was actually Michael (the first)'s nickname and not Leigh's.
  14. W.Pearson = William Earnest Pearson? http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/player/7192.html
  15. Probability of me getting that level of info out of him is zilch WJ, it took months to get a solitary password from him. Graeme might be able to as he knows him on a more social level, but even then I imagine it would be a huge stretch.
  16. There was an article published on the MFC website last year that Neeld discovered it after poring through all the players' draft notes quite late in the piece, indicating that it was indeed a discovery.
  17. Going back further than that Bob, I believe Demonology started out as an email list or news group or something like that, and Demonland was a school project.
  18. Do you expect the 'average' supporter to intellectualise situations? I think you're giving it a depth of thought that many footy supporters couldn't be bothered with (not speaking for myself btw - I agree with you).
  19. I think everything mentioned above is about the continued existence, but the reason the two communities exist is because they both spawned from two very differing methods of online networking, back in the late 90s/early 00s and both sites were alive and vibrant by the time they both became forum based. Both are proud communities and there hasn't been any need in the past to merge the two sites.
  20. By the sounds if it, it's a wonder you haven't been banned from the footy full stop. You sound like a nutcase.
  21. I don't think I'll ever care what other supporters think of us. Truth be told, I don't even really care about what half the MFC supporters think either.
  22. Christ, they could be brothers. I hereby reserve the right to just refer to them both as "Stisby" (or "Clark", if I feel like being extra confusing).
  23. Your ability to miss the point is stunning. Do you read, or do you just post? Demonland isn't just a way of voicing your ill informed opinion, it's a great way to learn a thing or two as well. I'd start with rpfc, Ben-Hur and Fan's posts.
  24. Phew! Thank goodness they finally played Clarke, Wade, Warner et al. Definitely made them a stronger and more competitive side.
  25. He's a stock, ordinary player who has forged out a career out through competitiveness and mental strength. I admire this sort of player greatly, more than any other sort of player really, but I wouldn't go expecting any more than what we get now.
