  1. I'm scared that you're serious, and even more scared to ask you to elaborate.
  2. While I wholeheartedly agree with the need for the information to be out there Redleg, the truth has never stopped the bashing before and it never will. The fact is, the football media and the general football public prefer a version of events that gets people talking and winds us up. I can't see that ever changing.
  3. Agree P_Man; those three are the ones who come across as the most comfortable and candid. Seems funny that Garland seems so comfortable talking to the media given that he apparently hardly said a word when he first arrived.

    No rights

    My thoughts precisely.
  5. Here's an idea for those who don't want to discuss the collar: don't open the thread. Getting sick of wasting my time deleting posts that contribute nothing other than pissing on the thread.
  6. Is that including or excluding finals? ;-)
  7. Ron, this sounds like the Schwab model: let's take these guys with names and find them a job, rather than working out what the jobs are and then finding the right names. This is how we end up with the situation where we've got staff with wishy-washy titles and seemingly no real responsibility. To that end, I'd be surprised if Viney and Craig were both employees of the MFC in 2014.
  8. Clisby named nominated rookie As I understand it, this doesn't necessarily mean he'll play; nonetheless it's a good vote of confidence from the club. Couch would have been an easy choice. Well done.
  9. You're a funny guy. Nobody other than perhaps a small handful of flogs are going to be upset if Clisby has a poor first game. He's a rookie pick, essentially pick one-hundred-and-something.
  10. This level of commentary has reached a new low.
  11. Hawthorn weren't under administration. And presumably the AFL hadn't dealt with him before either.
  12. tonatopia shows a bit of class....
  13. Must have been horrible, watching robots win games regularly.
  14. Without meaning to nitpick... okay, I do mean to nitpick. That's not "confirming", it's just adding another dimension to a rumour. To you your source is good, to us your source is an anonymous member of staff coming through an anonymous member of Demonland.
  15. It isn't up to the new coach - hence the new structure. The only people who should report to the coach, and therefore be appointed by the coach, are the assistant coaches. As for Mahoney, I think it's up to Jackson. I expect he will either become the head of FD, or he'll be redundant.
  16. I love how "he didn't say no" equates to dancing bananas (and believe me, I felt the same). I can't wait to see the reaction when we get some actual, real good news.
  17. Our form was hardly red hot before these two games though, was it? I'm with you on the board needing to go, but this decision was a no brainer and it wasn't just because we lost to Collingwood as you are making it sound. I honestly can't see your angle on this one.
  18. My empathy is generic and indiscriminate, Robbie. My loyalty also lies with the club and I too agree that we're better off without him; that doesn't mean I can't also feel bad for a guy who now faces an unclear future and the feeling of failure that must accompany this. I am able to separate club from person, that is all.
  19. haha really? You have to wonder how some of these people find their way out the front door every day. Wish I could see this live; trying to follow it on my phone isn't proving much fun.
  20. I know, but knowing you'll probably fail doesn't make it any nicer when you do.
  21. Anyone else find this banter really tedious?
  22. Neeld won't be happy - let's not try and convince ourselves that this is a win win for everyone. It might be a weight off stress wise, but he's now unemployed, and, and the thought that he's failed in his one shot at success at the highest level will burn. I really do feel for him, but that's not to say I don't think it's the right decision.
