  1. I suggest it might be because they offered him a job.
  2. Next person who says something like this gets a slap in the face with a wet fish. It is very frustrating when people are unable to grasp a point, so they resort to simplifying it down to a level where it doesn't make sense.
  3. Not going to go on about it, my only comment is that if he is telling players on our list - particularly very young ones who are just settling in - things that I (and maybe the club?) thinks they should not be being told by a supporter on the sidelines, "don't read it" isn't much of a solution. No doubt you don't agree that he's doing anything harmful and you think I'm being precious. Fine. It's my view, and I shall put it forward, just as you have put yours forward. I love reading the reports. I love that he's got the confidence to say g'day to the players and have a chat; I wouldn't be able to do it. I hope he doesn't stop. I just don't like him saying "the supporters all reckon you're struggling", or "the supporters all think you're overweight".
  4. There's no benefit in doing so either. Promote the player once he has put his hand up at Casey.
  5. I get the not filling the list angle, but why did they pass for 7 rounds in a row then use their last pick? Isn't that just giving all the other clubs up to 7 chances to take the player you want?
  6. Given that nobody other than a small few had heard of Aaron Vandenberg an hour ago, I daresay you're going a tad early. I'd like to see him play, or at least train, first. And by the sounds of it, he's recovering from shoulder surgery anyway. My money is on no rookie promotion for the first few rounds at least.
  7. Give the new blokes a few weeks to settle in before starting to bother them at training maybe?
  8. Is that the "win games off his own bat and just about snare a Brownlow when playing 2/3 of the season" role? Yes, yes, I think he'd be perfectly suited to that role.
  9. Using Tyler as ransom! Love it*. * Not really.
  10. And then Dean Kent can have his third jumper number in as many seasons.
  11. Classic case of using the wrong logic to come up with the right answer. Well done Ding.
  12. I completely disagree. Most of the players on our list have busted a gut during their time on the list, including Grimes, and I reckon it's insulting to suggest otherwise. It just so happens that Jones is also our best player, so it has borne more fruit. I reject the commonly held notion around here that Jones is the only one who tries. (Not your words exactly TSKFA, but it appears to be the sentiment.)
  13. I feel sorry for him. I see a guy who did his damn best to take the bull by the horns during a dismal era for the club. It would have taken a heavy toll mentally and probably come at the expense of his personal development. Here's hoping focusing on footy yields great results for him.
  14. Gysberts and Cook were indisputably poor picks, surely? And didn't Cameron pick Morton?
  15. Who did? Alternate question: in what way have we not honoured Evans' contract?
  16. Same here WYL. I saw that cartoon last night and lost it.
  17. Hedging our bets a bit with Oscar McDonald and Frost, by the looks. I expect them to be competing for the same spot in the next couple of years.
  18. We've just added 5 babies to our list; I'd be putting the declarations of a complete list away for a while. If any more than two of them are in or near the side in round 1 I'll be surprised. One or zero more likely I'd think.
  19. I'm a self confessed clueness nuffie when it comes to draftees, but I love this from a personal perspective. Happy times in the McDonald family tonight I reckon.
