    The price of the new coach

    This topic is purely designed to try and figure out what the prospective coaches would be worth per year....

    I have no idea what Neale Daniher was on (annual salary) but what sort of money do you think an experienced assistant coach would be offered and also what sort of money would be offered for a player turned coach such as Vossy????

    Are we in a position to offer more than we were paying ND (whatever that was)???

    Thanks Neale for your service. He is a great guy and he did not deserve to finish his last season like this. Hope some of the players see this as a wake up call. You have let him down by insipid performances.

    The players were playing for a friend and not a coach in the end..... Sad end for a top bloke!

    Insipid performances is so true.... The bloke has been let down BIG TIME!!!

    Surely we are not that stupid?!?!

    Just a quick post to plead with the board of this great football club.....

    Please don't even talk to Chris Connolly if we get rid of the Rev at the end of the season!!!!

    I know he is an ex player and his side knocked us out last year, but for god's sake, we are trying to move forward!!!

    The reason I bring this up is a rumour I heard at work that Chris wants the job.....

    Give it to Mark Williams or Michael Voss before you even phone the ex Demon.......PLEASE!!!!

    We will lose to the Kangaroos!

    Factors that lead me to believe this are as follows :

    1. Lack of defensive pressure

    2. Non-existent voice and ability to help each other out

    3. Hamish McIntosh will kill us around the ground

    4. We are coming off a trip to Perth

    5. Our gameplan will be wrong

    Give me 3 or 4 picks in the top 20 and then use them in this way :

    1. Tall, athletic ruckman (with a body you can thrown in the gym and get results)

    2. Another defender in the mould of Frawley/Rivers but bigger boned

    3. Strong utility who can play either CHB or CHF

    4. Lightening quick Aboriginal boy with strong leadership (eg. Andrew McLeod)

    If we were to do this then I would sleep very well on draft night :D

    Well done to the boys on their efforts today! No question of heart in my opinion.... Skill and decision making on the other hand is still a major problem but, after an effort like today, I am willing to put that aside for this week!

    Tried hard all day and even when the Bulldogs replied and upped the ante, we never once dropped our heads and we fought to the end.... That is the Melbourne Football Club I am proud to be a member of!!

    Sylvia = Well done mate... Your 2nd half and in particular last qtr was what we have been waiting for! Keep improving and the doubters will start to believe :P

    Bell = You are one of the highlights of this appalling season!

    PJ = See what a bit of game time can do! Leave Jamar at Sandy and let PJ play out the year! I like the work around the ground and the link-up play.... Defensively also a handy big man!

    Flash = Welcome back! Finally people will once again realise that an Aaron is better than an Alwyn :D

    TJ = Continue to prove me wrong fella.... I like it! The silk may be back?!?! :o

    To the other boys in the Red 'n Blue that I have left out = Play with that same heart and intensity every week! Please! It is why we live and breathe the MFC!!

    mcclean im doubtful on, would they even take him to perth?

    I honestly reckon that they will leave him out of this weeks game against the Dogs and as long as Jones is playing the way he is in the middle, they will not risk Brock in Perth either.... It may sound ridiculous to leave our hardest and most inspirational midfielder out of the side when he is quite possibly fit enough to play, but the soft tissue injuries that he keeps re-injuring must really be worrying the club! Let him get cherry rip before we bring him back...

    That is my opinion anyway.... I love Brock just as much as the rest of you, but in all seriousness, we are not exactly in a position to play 85% fit players.... We won't be Top 4 like the coaching staff had hoped, so let's not pretend like we are! Bring on 2008 and let's just enjoy the ride for the rest of 2007.... If the boys play with the heart that they did against the Power then we will win more than we lose over the remainder of this season!

    The kid can play and I can't wait to see more of him!!!

    A couple more years in the gym and we will have one of the most determined, courageous and skillfull running backmen in the game!

    Now that nearly gives me a chubby! :wub:

    I would like to see Green and Brock given another week....

    Give Buckley and Juice a run against the dogs.... Unless Bruce and/or Petterd don't come up then I would play Green but still leave Brock for a week longer....

    Bate must be played off the HFF for the remainder of the year!! He resents well and unlike Miller, can take a contested grab on the run!

    Must totally agree with you on that last comment....

    No. 24 is an absolute tool and like I have said in an earlier post, the bloke should donate his match fee to charity! Upon donating it to charity he should walk his stoopid ass down to the Burnley tunnel and start doing suicide runs in the middle lane during peak hour traffic for the rest of the working week, or until the job is done!

    The humble opinion of a bloke who nearly had to buy a new TV yesterday! :D

    Not much to say really is there? They are a bloody disgrace! How the hell they can accept their paycheck after todays game is beyond me! They should donate every cent to charity! So inconsistent it's beyond a joke! And that decision against Junior in the dying seconds was as harsh as they come!

    Pickett Tackle

    I don't care what anyone says.... That was a bloody good tackle! The commentators had a field day with it on the TV, saying that the AFL is trying to crack down on the pinning of the arms in a tackle?!?!?! What the *&^% is he supposed to do? Bump him and get rubbed out for 6 weeks?? Maybe take his legs out from under him and get 8 weeks?? Slam him in the head and get a life ban?? If every tackle I layed in my career was as good as that one I would be stoked!

    Looking bloody good.... Give this boy another pre-season and we are in for a real star! So quick in a pack with his hands and so skilled with his disposal around the ground! Spoils like a 100 game defender and reads the play better than most on our list already! Keep up the great work Ricky....

    Much respect to every player out on that ground today! I have not been this proud of the boys in the Red 'n Blue for a long time.... Tried their guts out all day and robbed in the end of a result....

    We will win more than we lose for the rest of the year!

    Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing we will have to wait and see (re: draft picks)
