I asked about this last year and was told it had to do with fitting in with the local football teams. By playing at night, the Scorpions would not be taking people away from the local community clubs and vice versa although I note that the crowds at the night games didn't appear to be much greater if at all as a result.

With the advent of the Casey Demons and the wearing of the club's traditional colours, I think it might become easier to make out who the players are. This would be helped if MFC players were able to wear their normal jumper numbers irrespective of whether they're in the AFL or the VFL.

I hope someone makes the suggestion to Peter Jackson. After all, he's not only our CEO but they've named the "Peter Jackson VFL" after him ?

Whenever my beloved Norwood come up against the 2 imposters, Crows & Power in the SANFL comp, booing the AFL players is made easier by the fact they wear their listed jumper #

Both clubs have non-listed players who I actually find difficult to dislike due to the fact they are just young blokes having a red hot crack...

I understand that the passionate Casey supporters may not be overly impressed with the decision to change jumpers but surely they must understand that Melbourne has helped grow the club, and the game, in the region and Premierships tend to cancel out any dislike anyway

They dry quick to so u can go for a dip in the pool and a couple minutes in the sun and your all dried up.

They'd want to do something special for $80 a pair!

I could get a slab of Woodstock 440ml cans for that and by about the 8th one I wouldn't care if I had shorts on or not

I think Port [censored] up choosing to play, of all teams Gold Coast, the team that shares the national colour of China,  in China.

Crowd will naturally back Gold Coast

I mentioned this on an SA radio station when I was telling them that Port are NOT pioneers when it comes to the whole China saga...

Surely Port realise that the Chinese people LOVE the colour red

I don't care they got O'MEARA I legally as such as I don't think he will get on the park much. More a swipe at the incompetent fools running show. They will destroy the game the way they are going.

And we will destroy all opposition on our quest for greatness!

I'm having a real "glass half full" evening here.. Spring has sprung

  5. The AFL brand has taken a massive hit with the Essendrug saga and if it wasn't for the Bulldogs heroics this year then the league would be in need of a shake of the upper branches to remove the loose hanging fruit.... So it doesn't surprise me that they have found a way to uphold the validity of this trade

But seriously.... do we care? It is bloody Ty Vickery for goodness sake :)

Jaeger O'Smeara does not a Premiership team make!

  6. I took a while to pick my response but I looked at it from purely "My own" opinion and not from the greater club/public as a whole...

Thus I chose Option 2 as I was already personally confident that Jesse would sign so for ME the most important aspect of this post season has been the signing (upon request) of Jordan Lewis...

This is huge in the scheme of things...

Just people wait until NEXT year's post season... We will go BANG! and recruit a genuine gun of the competition who will see that the possibility of bringing this great club back to the top is an opportunity one doesn't want to miss being involved in...

The days of good list management and quality player development are upon us my friends!

    In Melbourne I trust

    May not be too disastrous.

plenty of people in town for GP and not all like to stay at the track.

imaginative marketing and maybe packaging provides plenty of potential to build interest.

Align with a GP team with red and blue colours and adopt them for the weekend.

players in celebrity shots with high profile visitors, promotional tickets at discounted rates for celebs. Packages for Melb members including discounts for GP tickets

Associate with the high performance and quality of an International team.

Maybe get some joint sponsorship arrangement with existing GP team, and enhance above appearances.

Build the crowd with AFL and govt major events people. Put our club in a positive light.

All better than a minor match against an interstate team.

Oh and prepare and select the team that will match up and beat St Kilda

    WIN

Your name is very appropriate :)

He's currently the Giants midfield coach and is moving to their Melbourne based list management and recruiting team. Nothing to do with us.

Pretty $hitty way of explaining it from the author...

If it was Crane Blades we'd have the answer to our riddle.

Very good Sir... The kid has some serious skill and swagger... Actually his body type is a lot like Petracca...

Thick hips, strong overhead, big legs and that familiar pigeon-toe prowl around the ground...

I'm sure there's more highlights of him around the tube... Big talent but occasionally his body language lets him down (we all know we've had our share of watching that) but along the lines of Hogan, it's more in frustration at himself and the delivery coming into the F50...

Worth a punt though I reckon from what I've seen!
