Took 8 weeks for the favourites to start doing their thing.

Not for you. lol I think you being the only one picking Falcons might make everyone look completely stupid in about 15 hours time.

I'm with you. I reckon it was just a classic case of a linebacker passionately and single-mindedly keeping a player from the first down marker. Which is why he defended himself so much. I feel like you have to ping him in some way shape or form because late hits on QBs are a plague... but nothing more. I really don't think it was dirty. The things they expect of these footballers in such short periods of time. When you watch it in real time... it's ridiculously close. Second part... It's starting to look like a lot of people think Jets win. I can't think of a better example of how weird and wonderful the NFL is. The team that 7 weeks ago was fielding 0-16 win-loss bets is now seriously being talked about as a winner against the team who had the Patriots more than two scores down in the third quarter of the last Superbowl.

Yeah. 62 air yards. Biggest in the last two years by any player anywhere. And people knocked on his deep ball pre season. Check out the power rankings. Rams #2, Eagles #1...In a month or so we'll be seeing Goff vs Wentz late in the season. That will be a massive game. I worry now about Eagles, down a starting middle linebacker, and Jason Peters who has been lights out. Last year, in the first few weeks Eagles were the same as what you've seen this year early on. Then they lost a tackle to suspension, and Wentz fell off a cliff. Peters out now, plus a few other injuries elsewhere really could limit the Eagles a bit.

That doesn't nearly say it. Watched them again, they were basically perfect, even before Palmer went off hurt. These guys had a massive game the week before, and you brought them right back down to earth. What's scary is seeing their D, and run D specifically, rounding into super form. Like they need a defense with that offense. Wentz's best game yet by far. 17 TDs too. That's crazy number for someone not in the top 5 QBs. As of this week MVP has him in front... Probably Brady still there and Smith too. Hunt as well.

Goff played like a star. Dak is having a better year than last according to many. And Wentz is probably leading the MVP markets. What a draft year for QBs.

NFL
Wow. Wentz. MVP frontrunner now.

We saw the Bengals look similar, then fire the OC, and suddenly they can score again. They definitely should make a move now. Their season isn't done, and the list has enough talent to keep them in it this year.

I was pretty amazed when I tuned in, at that score. Something's gone wrong. I still feel like they'll do what Dallas have done, and make the switch, and get back on track. I just can't see Julio and Ryan NOT doing better very soon. It was disappointing. But you did call it. I had more faith in the Packers, and it turns out I got it wrong. Having said that, I reckon you'll see them use Hundley more now. After all, what else is there to do?

So when can we talk to you about this first half of your guys' game?

NFL
After going 5-0, KC have dropped 2 and their division is wide open again. It's like some sort of dream. Only team to only lose 1 game, the Eagles.

Yeah you just don't see that. I thought it was bad until I realised he ran all the way from the bench. Luckily Richard is doing ok so far. Keep scoring Oakland, make a game of it. Both QBs 200 yards passing in a half.

This game pits one of the NFL's oldest teams (Cardinals, NFL's oldest roster) against one of its youngest (Rams, 3rd-youngest roster). In fact, the Cardinals have an NFL-high 10 players older than Rams head coach Sean McVay, including QB Carson Palmer (37), WR Larry Fitzgerald (34), and RB Adrian Peterson (32). From NFL.com... Brilliant. lol

Wow. I wonder what it was a week ago? Maybe that's what I was looking at. That's a crazy stat. What's weirder is it might be the only sport that is absolutely certain to have a tangible home ground advantage you can use that the other team can't.

NFL
I read a stat somewhere that can't be right. Something like 60% winning away percentage for all teams.

Oh man I forgot. I was on the countdown a week ago, and it slipped my mind. Well done NFL fans, and Macca for the tipping comp that's responsible for about 170 of the 200. And yeah, I'm not saying it's all rosy. I just think wait and see. Funny things happen when the seconds come in sometimes. This is the first time in ever that Nelson, Adams, Ha Ha, and all their other good players can feel like the most important player on the team.

Sure has. But he's a trenches coach. Always has been. Get the big uglies organised and the rest will follow. Only problem with that is there's a reason he's never won a big one despite being successful. Back on Hundley, I look at a guy like Watson as a good marker. Doesn't play anything like the QBs that were starters ahead of him, but the coach adapted quickly. His line isn't anything to write home about, but he gets the job done. And I don't think it's right to say that Texas' receivers are better than GBs. Aside from Hopkins, they're not superstars. Where it falls down is that they have a pretty damn good run game with Foreman and Miller. I'm interested to see what GB do with Monty, who's shown plenty over the last couple of seasons, and Jones who's performed well in patches. The Giants lost 5 in a row, then decide to lean on the run game with a couple of duds... and look what happened there. It's all on McCarthy now as you say. Here's another fun stat. Since 1992 (??!!) Green Bay have played 9 games with a quarterback not named Favre or Rodgers. That's insane. Just imagine how many QBs Browns have had in that time.

NFL
Fair enough. ie the Scott brothers. And yeah. On the plus side Hundley's been there, what, 3 years? McCarthy at least knows his man. And his man knows the playbook. Romo would have been terrific fun... but Hundley is your best chance.

I'm really interested to see what changes. I reckon your Displeasure at McCarthy will double if he rolls out the same system for what is essentially a completely different player. This sort of thing can be a great opportunity for growth. Imagine if, in the next 10 weeks, Hundley throws for 20TDs and 10Int and authors some good wins and gets his team to the playoffs. He'll find himself straight away into a starting job next year for someone, and you'll have a juicy new second round pick to get that Tight End you want so badly.
