WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
According to Barret today Dodoro has reacted poorly to his assertion that Essendon is hard to deal with. Evidently Dodoro not thrilled with the reputation he's built for himself. Is it true Pies are the same?

Foles is doneskies. If he got another starting job I'd be stunned. If he landed at Jets though, he could do ok. Watched him at Philly when he was "good." Nobody liked him, even then.

Noone who follows the game gave him a chance. When he fumbled that first ball, he was a dead man walking. Heh. Sook. Bring on Wentz I say. lol I would even get excited about the inevitable high first round pick. But we traded it away.

Josh Jenkins
Yup. This is what makes Hogan so important. He's a power forward that makes other forwards around him better. A Jenkins/Gawn tandem would be pretty great, but I feel like Hogan with Watts and Weed there, and Gawn chipping in, they can create a home grown forward that we can do the reverse Jenkins with. We don't need to recruit one. We have our own Lynch/Tex tandem now that can make a good player out of a previously average one. Keep him in the team until someone comes knocking on the door, and then trade him. I think Vanders will actually take that extra tall spot (not that tall, I know) in the meantime.

Pleased with Eagles, but just because I liked the tape on Wentz. As I said earlier, Gorgo, you and I will be at each other for years on Goff/Wentz watch. And as I said, I think Goff has a neater NFL ready throw. Otherwise, not a great or even interesting draft at all by Eagles. While Wentz learns the ropes Eagles will be lucky to go 6-10. Will hand a top 4 pick to Browns next year. Then Wentz will be starter, and we'll go into 2018 with only one second rounder missing. Fine by me. Rebuild time.

How good is the NFL... draft day is always fun even when your team barely has any picks... Only in the NFL can the Tunsil thing happen. Absolutely amazing. Big winners for me, Titans and Jags. List wise they are both serious teams now. Jags will be so great. Defenders galore, especially if Jack gets up, but their offense is great too with receivers everywhere and a super young quarterback. Watch out for them.

Boys boys boys... I wonder if anyone managed to catch the team song on the weekend... Just as they were getting in a circle to sing, Bugg at far screen right wanders over to someone on the outer... and what does he do? He dabs!!! We have our Cam Newton/NFL fan in the team. Awesome cockiness.

Yeah he does, but nowhere near the straight line pace and bullocking that Wentz does.

Ha. I was thinking Ryan more than Brady. But I'll give you that. Get excited about him! I dunno if Roethlisberger ever moved like Wentz, he's just tall and heavy. And there's no way he has Benny's poise. I think most people just see the size and make the comparison. As I said above, I think this is one they got right. I'd take Goff first just based on the vision. But it's a close thing. I would agree. They're gunshy given their last 20 recruited QBs. They want the next Luck or bust. Having said that, not even the Browns could screw up that raft of picks. Yup. As one article I read suggested, what you want as a QB is to go to a team that's working well enough to be mid table... Just to know you have protection and a squad that can teach you. Ideally you want a team winning 7 or 8 picking first, as opposed to a team that's terrible and will burn you out, a la RG3.

Interesting your thoughts on Wentz vs Goff, Gorgoroth... From what I see Wentz has the bigger arm, but not the prettier arm. Goff's release is quicker and I think he's probably more accurate and poised. Wentz is a bigger lad.... seems to have the size and crash and bash to rush for tough TDs... he's no Superman Newton... but is respectable. Having watched the tape, it's hard to decide. I'm not sure, TBH, that either will be picked at the valuable spot. I wanted Eagles to get Elliot, even though he's just a RB. Or even better move up and select Tunsil, as they need OL help. Would have been more comfortable picking a QB at 8... but of course... they'd have been gone by then. I'm happy with either. It's a chance for the coaching departments of both clubs to earn their stripes. Interestingly, Howie Roseman (Eagles GM) has said that the Eagles looked at their history and saw that in ten years they picked inside the ten once, and there weren't QBs that year. They also looked at the next 2 years, and saw no developing QBs they liked. They mentioned Pederson is a QBs coach and while they have a good QB coaching staff, they wanted to stick with their strengths.

Holy crap Gorgoroth!!!! My boys and your boys have been walking hand in hand for a few seasons haven't we. Foles/Bradford trade, that I hated.... and now Rams move up to pick 1 to take Goff, and many are saying the Eagles got that info from them in order to make the trade with Browns to go get Wentz at pick 2! It's all happening in NFC East!

Philly are downright awful. Now though the story will be which of Giants and Skins want Dallas' spot. Eagles will be lucky to win 8. They're gone. No way they come back, not even if they improve. They would have to go from that to 35 point games.

Mother of god.... I've never seen worse offense by an Eagles team. I think this will be a 4-12 year now. Did anyone get the two Macca?

You get as many as you want. Feel free to drop and sign away. Waivers sounds more complicated than it is, but here goes. During every round, the players available are locked until a day after the round finishes. Up until the end of that period, anyone can apply for a waiver player. If you have the highest waiver priority, you get that player at the end of that period. You'll see on the ladder that you have a waiver priority number, usually it's reverse draft order... once you get a player you go back to last. Once all waivers have been processed, available players become free agents, and you can sign them without affecting your waiver.
