  1. You're pretty close I'd say. By my figuring there's approx a 70% chance a team needs 13 wins this year to secure themselves into the 8. Possible with 12 but a lot of cards need to fall that team's way. From current that's 9 out of the remaining games. Not impossible, just rather implausible for mine. Tomorrow might tell us a lot. Go Dees
  2. Swinging Tommy fwd these days I think would be reserved for an 'in case of fire break glass' type scenario and by that I mean he seems rather settled in defence ( and effectively so ) but if a game teetered and options were few, and there was no tomorrow as such I wouldn't hesitate sending him forward with one very simple instruction .. " all or nothing, take'm apart ". And I reckon he would. I do recall a game a few years back ( ironically against Syd at G ) he all but single handedly took the game by the scruff of its neck and willed himself to score. Don't underestimate the Mac , but I think generally I'd have him maraud the back 50.
  3. George is in a class of his own 😉 👍
  4. This ^^^^^ Afaiaa.. he's played very limited and managed minutes. No one is doubting his ability or effectiveness, certainly not I. I just wonder if this is the cleverest thing to do. Both Ricky L and May have some history and issues ( recent times ) with injury whilst erstwhile soldier Mac seems to be going along quite strongly. We'll see tomorrow I s'pose. Hope this doesn't blow up as an uh-oh!!! I'd still have managed-rested May. I think this of all games suits that. 🤔🤷‍♂️
  5. It's more to me about fitness and form . And I still don't see how currently Tmac is the one out of Lever, May and himself to be dropped... managed...whatever. Still.... it's a very Melbourne thing to do.
  6. Said similar somewhere... I.e May looking the most in need of a 'managed' rest. An odd decision for mine . Totally agree about not wanting to see him suiting up for Casey.
  7. What the ... Beyond daft.....
  8. I agree.. looks to me a very even matchup. Odds ought to be 1.90 each imo
  9. I actually don't like the way the extended benches are announced... smacks of tokenism and teasing. Probably just me.. seems so trite. Just name the team.
  10. Not expecting you to get it... Just sayin '
  11. I understand your point... perhaps you misconstrued mine . I came to Oz late 64.. my father, his brother, sister, dad ...all Tottenham supporters... in some ways I was probably destined to be a Melbourne tragic lol. We don't have many alternatives in AFL though I recall a night footy cup... an e cup of some weird description...or similar 🤷‍♂️ Ange HAS done wonders... many will be aghast if he's sacked but that seems the way... little leeway. So Ange has brought long time overdue Silverware. Yeah it's not EPL... but it's a little known savour for Spurs supporters. They'll take it and party.. I really couldn't give a [censored] about soccer these days but to be with family there and celebrate... yeah !! Meanwhile.. Dees. Here we are.If you don't understand how Ooze co-opted that flag well.. let's organise a time and place ...have a drink and mull over it. its about how we understand what occurs Don't do the comparison literally... but emotively.. maybe 🤷‍♂️
  12. The brutality that is EPL will probably still see Ange looking for another gig despite holding the UEFA cup up high. I'm not Mr Goodwins greatest advocate in fact advocacy has never crossed my mind . ( 21 was a Goodwin good win... with "help" though ) As suggested before the normal and more obvious yardstick of finals won't be a reasoned measure. Those familiar with stats and I hate the analogy here , as most stats in football abhor me, but the trends you can see in graphs etc are what we need to look for as the season progresses. If indeed we get traction ( tracc-tion even 🙄) and we start trending with better footy, better results more wins ... then... reality says ... keep going. Conversely... if it does transpire... that's the other reality. For now I'll go sit in the cheap seats , on the fence and see what manifests. Go Dees Just want to win.
  13. Kittylitter Park is the most offensive ground. Practically missing a wing ffs ( Moorabool St side ), that peatfield is an abomination. Refuse to go there. I truly think the SCG thing is more a mental thing imo. Get a tape measure and mark off 5m and 9m .. ( resp len and width diff ) ..it's not that much. I don't think so anyways. Other grounds have greater discrepancies. Ours perfect..... of course 😉
  14. I do wonder if Tmac is not in better shape than May . Perhaps it's Lever and May who need managing. Leave Disco and Tommy alone unless otherwise.. . I'm not Spargypants greatest fan but he does have footy smarts. Certainly an enigma to me. Goody has mucho faith in him 🤔🤷‍♂️
  15. Very good analysis. Learnt some things . This guy needs to come home 😉 ( bring the lad too 😆 )
  16. Good write up DJ It isn't straight forward at all, save Viney. It will be very interesting as to me it reveals as much about strategies as it does selections. If ever the notion of " it was won at selection" might apply this may be it. There's 4 qtrs to be played. Going to be a very interesting game. Look forward to it.
  17. I doubt Goody will cut Spargo.
  18. My understanding from some years back was that the playing surface of the SCG was 10m shy of the G. Many search results only suggest 5 That's not really much to me. It does seem to play shorter.
  19. You're not really selling me on him. Might be time to bring in another who's at least having a crack with results. Spargo I do concede has always struck me as something of an enigma. He's effective, but in a limited way ( these days ) Granted He's coming off a rubbish preseason but I'm more about a team than a player. Not a walk up start imho
  20. No sense bing
  21. Way too early. If we aren't seeing a trend this year ...it's not happening next year
  22. I've obviously been watching very different games in some parallel universe. Kozzie says hi btw . ..
  23. I'd take that 16 in a heart beat. You might need new dice... just sayin' Admire your optimism 😉 👌 👍
  24. Has anyone ever thought of playing Ricky across half forward 🤔 Just a left field thought.
  25. Yeah.. I was initially getting just 13s .. but kept doing it.. and got a string of 12s. Like you suggest there may well be a gap formed between top8 and below , making it quite hard. Hence even I ( big of me I know lol ) understand it might be better to view the trend and form.of of our games for rest of year. I really doubt the 8 is attainable . But here's hoping. Despite what some think... I really would prefer we're competitive and winning.
