  1. oh sorry if I seem a little niggled.. Respect.. lol.. Apparently your unable to critique people is that what you summise ?? We must all tippy toe around.. Well I for one will call a spade a spade. Adem Ooze has been one of the greatest trangressors in NOT living up to his ability. His is not a great team player. he is often lazy and goes for the "heroe " shots when a hand off /pass forward set up would be far more effective !! Some of his efforts are mecurial... many are downright wasteful. He seemed ( and I am far from alone here ) far more concerned wqith the club record at any costs raahter than getting fully fit and honouring his end of the bargain. He held the club to semi ransom some years back and has hardly been value for dollar since. If thats disrepectful than quite frankly I couldn't give a rats. He's a professional..He gets paid. He can take the cirique as well as far as Im concerned. far better player than most?? lol.. thats not altogether a big rap when discussing a team thats effectively failed, with some notable exceptions, for 43 years now is it. Respect is something earned, not dished out with his oversized pay packet !!
  2. http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E19742,00.html Quite frankly I was going to subtitle this as "When will we ever learn?? " Here's a great opportunity to reap some divident from his contract...by trading him..hell he would go !!...and we still do the same ol ' dumb things !! Got nothing peronal against Ooze...wish him well. Wish by christ he'd play decent footy!! His best days are way behind him.. He is now injury prone...and we're gunna keep him !! FFS how dumb can this club get at times. CAC youve lost me on this.. If this is your idea of sound reasoning and planning going forward then Ive had you wrong all along...sorry mate, this just isnt clever at all !! Its OK for us to honour his contract but we dont care if he honours his end of the bargain ??? what a joke !!
  3. the problemis no so much wheater's kicking as it is a demon giving him a good target to hit. He cant do both!! he needs someone to kick to and if noone is presenting , making space, quick enough than the kick in gets shut down ( as is case all too often!! ). Given a running target Wheats can make it at 60-65 no probs !!...thats a helll of a start from the back line that goes begging all the time.
  4. On the basis of what "insiude knowlwedge" do you assume Kev will only want to hang around for a year or two.. .. Hadnt noticed him making a habit of it !! lol
  5. ooze is contracted and untradable....of course the..&%$@! ( wonderful player ) will stay !! Will in all likely hood play most in Zebby colours and see out year like Hollywood Bizzel did this year. Great waste of money...Well done MFC
  6. of course they will.. its not an even playing field.. The AFL pander to the whims of those with clout.. So whats new. What...you think the Wobllie's fixture is luck of the draw !!!!
  7. the problem with MFC...well one of them. Is we have quite a few players who need to move on ( for the betterment of teh club as a whole ) .Some are simply on the 'other ' side of their best days of their careers. Some just arent going to amount to more than 'adequate' players.
  8. well.. I wouldnt carte blanche endorse this idea that it would have been a Monty should Gods have played. But it might well have been at least half way towards the difference between winning and losing. Gods is quite acccountable at keeping his target close...something many others in red and blue could learn. He is far from teh worst at hitting a target coming off the half back line ( many will argue against this...but Id like them to show me proof ). He never gives up...you dont see GODS standing around watching others !! Could have been a very handy player last night. Still its all supposition , had he been fit he would have played, we'll never know.
  9. Its going to very much a time for a BIG spring clean. Forget any aspirations for serious finals next year or even 09. Its time to seriously , well if not rebuild...do some major reno's !! This will require a coach who has done all this before..(successfully ...that means flags ) ..luckily one's available. As to Walls.. well.. ...many have already done better justice to this fellow...lol He's not big on realities , let alone facts. yes Melbourne are having a clearout...he got that right...takes an Einstein doesnt it ?? lol
  10. You'd think so huh !! why settle on any apprentices when you can have the Master !!
  11. we need to move heaven and Hell ( for which I thought we had the franchise btw !! lol ) to get an "effective" ruck !! if that means going camping for the next three weeks to secure one of the two young gun rucks than so be it !! All this talk about midf ileders is irrelevant if we have no ruck to give them first use!! Priorites people....priorities edit: as afterthought... there's hardly anyone left to play anyway!!
  12. out of that lot....Id defintiely have Sheedy !!
  13. you're dead right ...and to add to that...we need the basics skills to do that. WE DONT HAVE THEM!! We constantly turn over the pill We cant ruck to advantage We cant kick for [censored]. We hospital handpass We make very poor decisions about to whom and under what circumstances the bal wil be forwarded. Needless kicks to unbalanced contestes etc etc etc.. Not just based on last nights game... much can be 'described' as simply being tired last night. What is wrong with Melbourne ? We play a [censored] brand of footy....... its as simple as that!! The incoming coach will need to start from scratch. Keep it simple as alluded in above post. Once we get that under control we can start building an 'effective' set of game plans and techniques.
  14. He certainly wasnt alone tonight... I didnt think we were going to start "kick to kick' til rnd 22 !!
  15. I think Rhino called this one right. Dutchy is nowhere near the start of the queue for "DCM's " All things being equal he ought to get another year's contract...and deservedly so.
  16. http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/connolly...6857682138.html further to Boosville moving's and shakin's.. Connolly in mix for a "role" cant say id be disappointed if he went there.
  17. pointless having the Rat amongst choice...he's pulled out.
  18. they wil miss Fraser...damn shame !!!
  19. exactly..until the end of season..not beyond.
  20. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...8-11088,00.html 'BRETT Ratten's preference to win the Carlton coaching job was made clear yesterday when he deferred an interview with Melbourne ..." I think we may asume the writing is on the wall there!!! On an aside. I think it was during the Doggies broadcast that whilst interviewing Harris he made , to me, an intersting comment. Almost a throw away. He said "they would announce the coaching position at the end of the season, hopefully in time for the new coach to have input to the trading, drafting ".... Now to me the only reason you would hold off announcing immediately come seasons end wouild be possibly if the incumbent was still coaching at the highest level! That's curious to me as it almost rules out the contingent of assistants. I mean big deal if people know where they are going if finals still on. But you might hold off if it was the SENIOR coach. Not too many fill that criteria. Williams ( Sandy ) and Sheedy ( Bombers ) might be about it . Just thought I'd mention that ... wondered if anyone else had thoughts? cheers
  21. I think it says bucket loads for all concerned. How refreshing in todays world to see an occasion where all parties rise above the menial and petty and treat an event for what it is with all parties savouring the moment. Kudos to all involved. It would have taken many elements of character by many people to let this event be what it is. Despite any misgivings about the bloke as a coach I always respected the man as a man. His ties and kinship with the man of the moment speak volumes. There shoud always be place set at the table of the MFC for one Neale Daniher for when ever he wants to grace us with his presence. A class act...Too few of them.
  22. he got up....whats the big deal.. !!!! by that I mean.. Aussies tougher than NFL !! love to see the video of the equaliser !!! Lol Yanks cant figure out how we ( Aussies ) can kick so well !! Still..they cant understand how we run all day either..heheh
  23. Im a little confused by that article.. His writing surrounds the idea that esentially he's the same larrikin intuitive inciteful enigma that he was 27 years ago. That he hasnt essentially changed. well that really doesnt say much to me except that he's kevin Sheedy. He remarks about the why's and wherefores of how and why he was sacked and the subsequesnt fallout and effects. the man was let go, the boad lied Sheedy does his job whilst doig the leg work for moving on. He's surely not to blame for that. If there's any fall out or crying or shaking of headdsin the Essendon changing room then to me that lies squarely back at the feet of the board. Apparently he doesnt quite go the way of many others by surrounding himslef with six zillion support staff.. For the most part it seems to have worked...especially on $ occasions !! Im still not sure what Smith was really driving at !!
  24. yep...still gladly have the man.
  25. or...in the now for something totally different.. we could put our team out there and let them worry about matching us !! lol. Still probably need Clogs down back....shame when he's on "fire" !!!
