  1. Will be very interesting to see how Neeld will utilse the Jones boy ( and others ) Plaudits to the guy I thought he was well down on footy nouse but hes improving.. Hope he continues the trend.
  2. DWA...I really hope he can as his tagging ability is excellent. Hes just too costly in other areas and ruins his balance sheet. , destroys it actually. If ha can attune this area of his game hell be invaluable, if he cant he be valueless. No in between .
  3. I find it hard to ignore or gloss over this. He plays invariably as a negating defender so when HE murders the pill and allows the opposition a freebie it really hurts us. He either has to fix this or is moved on. Just cant afford these flaws in our game.
  4. Just had a listen and to reinforce what HT alluded to I think Barry is looking at football ability as being the the number 1 , 2, and 3 aspects with all else as a indicator if appropriate. Im not really interested in whether a Melbourne player can feed the world, write an essay or wax lyrical about life goals etc etc.. I just want him to be able to kick a ball, that would be nice.
  5. Its been a false dawn for many a year now, that is the notion of a rampant trade week. It always sounds good then fizzles and splutters to nothingness. I always find this week and its lead up to be quite intriguing. I enjoy the posterings and the permutations, alas these are more often fleeting and ghostlike. This year I really think there wil be action galore. The whole dynamic is changed as a result of not only GWs but the recent chance to view what happened as a result of GC coming into being. I sense many clubs will have learnt there is genuine opportunity to reshuffle their lists especially when the traditional shopping source of the draft is so severely compromised. Weve also seen how players have grown to understand the opportunity that presents itself and now are becoming more astute/brazen/informed as to the process. Players are now driving this more than clubs. Players like Warnock, Gunston,Tippert etc wasted no time putting their hands up. Clubs are forced into action . Theyve learnt they will get burnt if they dont do something. This then brings into play the "3rd Club" Often trades are done on the dealings between 3 clubs so as we speculate as to whom might be worth x y or z its not so clear cut. Theres a sort of natural balance about all of this in so much as if theres an equilibrium between various clubs wants and excesses then there tends to be a gravitation ( albeit often only eventually ) towards a satisfactory outcome. Id empahasise satisfactory as opposed to ideal or desired. This is the grey world of deals...what can be satisfactory for the parties involved. Much posturing and rucking occurs before fear and common sense make present their efffect. Roll on trade week.. love it
  6. Gun, i'l lleave it at that
  7. Now this might just be me, it so often is,( lol ) but I have a sneaking suspicion that Neeld might be far more exactling in his estimation of where and what Brad ought to not only be capable of but ought to be doing that n dear ol' Brad has had to deal with in the past. Brad on his day is a very good player. Cant question his bravery or ability. I will question his work ethic and consistency ans he fades in and out of games. Again might just be me , but he often only seems to be travelling in third gear, seldom top. He gets away with this often for when he is at the ball hes good. Someone like Neeld wont accept this. Its 100% of ..theres the door. Brad is our most experienced player by a street but you wouldn't always suppose this watching him. ive been amongst a handful here who have pushed the idea that there was a group of players who had it all too easy under Dean, for whatever reason. id put Brad right in the middle of that group. Now before some of you start arcing up and howl for a supposed bash, read again. Imnot. Im just stating what IS. Hes a very good player but often when push comes to shove hes gone missing. Hes not the only one. This will NOT have gone un-noticed by Neeld. Its Brave New World time for Brad ( and friends) ...its called accountability. Brad..suck it up, sign..or move on. Simple really
  8. in other words he knows jack !! Hes just guessing
  9. You know what...I have no real idea of what is or isnt going on with respect the Green situation. There is however history of some 'posturing' regarding his dealing come contract time. Brad like a few of his mates come from a very different era of the MFC, theyve been used to a certain treatment etc. I am going to speculate that with al the reshaping and rebuilding of this fine club of ours that with this will come a different attitude come contracts and drafting etc.. Brad , and he wont be alone , might be in for a rude shock. He may well feel affronted. Im going to trust the club and its newly found 'feet' to handle such dealings to the benefit of the club.Thats all that matters to me....the club !!
  10. Is this the long awaited catalyst weve all been waiting on ? Too easy and simple to suggest so but it bodes well.
  11. possibly the consideration of other's offers perhaps ?
  12. I havent seen Melbourne mentioned in the despatches as being interested. Be curious to know who we ARE though ( interested in)
  13. Yes, very hard to tell as to what dizzy heights Grimes could scale save his tendency not to be on the park. If as they say you have to be in it to win it, then id suggest you have to be on it to captain it. Just a reality , like it or not.
  14. you only have to run your mouse over the members name to see when they joined B)
  15. Perhaps the most sobering fact: #102. We have not won one since 1964 !! As warm and fuzzy as all that info is, I'd like to win one. Sooner rather than later.
  16. He really must have a soft spot for us after all !! B)
  17. Indeed one might ask whats happened to a few ??
  18. Dean Bailey joins the Adelaide Crows as Assistant Coach Good luck Dean.
  19. makes you wonder ( salivate more like it ) if many of our boys are ready for whats about to hit them ?
  20. SMCF ...this is a troll thread..havent you twigged. though i rather thought the IMDb tag very apt.
  21. Also be happy to retain both. It begs the notion though that if both even paid the same as before theyd still not be a major sponsor bit somewhere just above Platinum, whats that.. really-really-special !! Hope they do stay in some capacity...and thanks. Its become very intriguing now to see who it is and why the wait. Are we continuing our trend this season and poaching someone else's ? The FoJ must be in the neighbourhood of 2M pa . Not that many in that rarified atmosphere but having said that there was an article somewhrere over the weekend about what amazing value a sponsorship of an AFL club ( a decent one ) is to a potential sponsor. Must find it .
  22. merge merge merge !!
