  1. Gold. Because it's true.
  2. Some take seasons to win me over. Hibberd took 5 minutes. Gun.
  3. I was putting all players names together for half an hour... so thanks for this thread.
  4. Already done it. 100% so far.
  5. That goal he gave to Garlett was the most composed kamakaze [censored] I've ever seen. What a player.

Zak has improved quite a bit, but as others have said, doesn't fill a need. I'm a big fan of Aliir Aliir (2 i's people) but he won't be going anywhere.

Fitness or lack of preseason have nothing to do with missing simple kicks and having no awareness 5 minutes into a game. He's a slow thinker, slow mover and an inconsistent kick. Plays some very good games now and then, but his stinkers are too often and too costly. Not a fan at all. First player I'd trade.
  8. Imagine they played rugby league... Did Dermott tell a story a few years ago now how the Storm players were laughing at our strength and conditioning?
  9. 5 touches and umpteen dropped marks in a winning side against Brisbane under a roof. Wowzer. On in a more serious note, I truly worry about his concussions, copped barely a tap to the head in a standard forward pack (I think when Bruce snapped on his right foot for goal) and seemed dazed and down for about 10-15 seconds. I think it's going to be a huge issue, if it isn't already.
  10. I've seen pretty much every game Lever and Oscar have played. Lever is far more composed, reads the flight of the ball far better, takes more risks by foot (which do and don't pay off) and just looks the far more natural footballer. To be fair to Oscar (who I actually like as a developing player), Lever has been supported by a much more reliable group of defenders. Lever is just a much better footballer is the bottom line. I'll be happy to have both on our list please.
  11. Two thirds of his possessions are while he's being tackled anyway. So tagging him won't do [censored].
  12. I'm spewing it cut out there.
  13. 2nd round pick + Jamar and Matt Jones should get it done.
  14. I love this kid. The most composed defender from day dot you'll ever see. Exactly what we need. Crows will be spewing if they lose him and Mitch McGovern, whom I also rate extremely highly and I believe he will definitely go to WA.
  15. Yeah, and?
  16. 83%, the most of any midfielder surprisingly enough. So now that he's mastered disposals and built a tank, let's start asking when he'll add goals to his game. Should have 20 by round 7...
  17. There was nothing down the line.
  18. The topic requires us to look at McCartin's faults to decide whether or not you think St Kilda made the right decision. If he didn't have fairly obvious weaknesses then it wouldn't even be a debate.
  19. I'm in the Bont is elite camp. Pretty much everything he does is to the Bulldogs advantage. You don't need 30 possessions a game to be elite.
  20. No one said instant star. But it's clear as day what's coming with Petracca. Who knows with McCartin. McCartin has been cruelled by injuries, sure. Petracca did have a full knee reco too you know? Maybe why he's not an "instant star."
  21. I thought about them when I mentioned Oliver's first game. The difference is he was in the guts against one of the best midfields in the league. And has continued on.
  22. Age old debate of needs v best available. They went with needs. Not knowing that Bruce and Membry would come on as goalkickers. What they did know was that Petracca has all the talent in the world, and they knew what their midfield did and didn't have and what was developing. When I add all that up they made a mistake. They overrated their midfield. They could have Josh Kennedy at FF and it wouldn't help if the midfield can't get it to him. Petracca is built for the modern game, I'm not so sure McCartin is. Saints would probably even be better off with Trac at FF.
  23. No doubt that helps in the long run, but Oliver had 20+ very good touches and got a rising star nom in his first game as a porky 18 year old. Roos and co are good, but not 4 month miracle workers. Taylor drafted pure talent and it's been on show since. Where the development takes him is even more exciting. As for the the rest of the thread re Trealor, he was easily their best mid the year he left.
  24. I swear he was my cantine lady in highschool.
  25. The slow-mo vision of that handball shown on Access All Areas really shows how brilliant it was. This kid is something else.
