It’s why Ling was probably the best, he negated the player and got the ball himself. If we had a decent tagger I’d want them playing every week.
I must admit I was sceptical on chasing him as he plays similar to Fritta, but if Fritta and Melk can play well together in the coming weeks it’s prob not a bad option for a Grundy trade, but I’d also be loathe to give port a better ruckman.
Howes traitorous face makes me want to punch it and vomit on it, then I smile as I realise he has only lost grand finals. Never won it.
Salem unfortunately is injured half of every year. But he has been poor this year. His kicking even when not under pressure has been woeful by his standards. I hope he finds his kicking boots the next few weeks cos he is a weapon when fit and firing.
Rivers can be a better version of Salem on his current trajectory. Ie if his skills go to the next level and matches salems because he is a better defender, I’d happily see him play some midfield time. Bowey, McVee, Salem and pig are enough back there.
I know the goal line decisions going to be the main talking point but really we have so many problems that need addressing before worrying about that. Selection on a greasy/wet night was not great. Still love bomving it long to outnumbered or out sized contests. Players don’t shepherd for each other, don’t do the hard yards for each other. Max whinges more than the whole of England. Also flops around like a fish out of water. Salem has some of the worst disposals I’ve seen in a long time. He was once elite at hitting a target now he is elite at panicking and butchering the ball. As bizarre as it sounds Petty out might cost us any chance.
