I don’t know about all of you but it has officially just hit me. I thought I was doing pretty well with all this and taking it in the stride but it just got so massively real. Palpitations, a few shakes here and there. I had a dream last night that Collingwood beat us by 8 points in the Grand Final and it felt so real and tragic. I’d love to play them in a Grand Final but that would hurt beyond belief, I really don’t want to risk that situation. I wish I had the confidence and the no fear attitude that so many of you have but I’m really scared. Winning a final and going out in a semi is ok, you can live with that. But the jump from semi to prelim is huge and in the territory of there possibly not being a better shot at it. Then there’s the Grand Final if we make it. I thought we were going back there every year after 2000 until about 03 when it was evident the moment had passed. Im also so nervy about this special moment that I have no idea what to do. Should I just stay in Melb or break the bank and get over to Perth because if we win and I’m not there after going to every game in Melbourne this year it may hurt. I know it’s not about me, I guess all these years you dream of the big moment and want to do everything perfectly. I know life isn’t perfect though. Appreciate if anyone else is feeling the same, it’s just going to be so tough to deal with. I didn’t want to make a new thread for it and I apologise if it’s too negative for some people I really do. Seems like MFCSS could take some time to subside.

Couldn’t have put it better. Used to use this a lot to pump up for games.

Joeboy you’re a dead set legend! Great stuff, very much deserved!
  4. Imagine a Griswold family vacation road trip to Perth!
  5. There would be nothing sweeter. Nothing sweeter at all! Just hope I could make it to that point!

So currently 2-0 with 20 mins left. Spurs have had moments but have generally looked off the boil.
  7. Nailed it. Theres a lot of people here that are happy to flirt with Collingwood potentially winning a flag for the possibility of us playing them in a Grand Final and that’s fair enough. I can’t do this.
  8. Yeah, would have been easier to see GWS smashed by Richmond than Collingwood
  9. Such a disgrace. They should be serious, and go to bed straight away.
  10. I dunno, the Fitzroy Bears aren’t too bad. I reckon they are a fair chance for the pennant next year.
  11. He stinks
  12. I’m disappointed in this GWS side. We’ve sunk so much money and draft picks into this crap and it would be nice to see this bucketload of talent work together and pull this off but no, they will just fall away and be a trophy less bucket of underachievers.
  13. Yeah look there is something to this. Our return to the finals last week seemed to have so much more meaning and flavour being two Victorian teams.
  14. Collingwood have 70% got this
  15. Where’s Broomhead?
  16. Collingwood on a roll
  17. That was disgraceful
  18. Haha, ā€˜mates’ or superficial golfing journo buddies. ?
  19. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty of this and cut through some of the BS. That first quarter from GWS was the worst quarter of any team this finals series and one of the worst of the year. They should count themselves lucky to be 7 points down. Come on Giants.
  20. Collingwood really should win this. Everything going their way.

When the siren went last night my first thought was ā€œI am going to Perth come he’ll or highwaterā€. 45 minutes later the chances went to 70% when briefly looking at this. After speaking with my mate who is only sort of keen that went to 50-50 and after sleeping on it I reckon I’m a 30 % chance to go. I can not get the leave on Fri and it is just a massive goddamn amount to fork out for what is not guaranteed to end well. And then if we somehow make it to the next week, that’s another $1000 outlay most likely. i wish like hell it was a bit easier. Adelaide or Sydney and it’s a no brainer but I think this might just be a bridge too far unfortunately.
  22. Joeboy, this was brilliant!
  23. What a fantastic night mk 2! We did it! I know there isn’t something special about writing here moments after the win but these last two weeks I’ve just lost it! We were not particularly great but the big takeaway for me is the we stood up in pivotal moments of the game. The two biggest was red time in the 3rd quarter, and when the Hawks kicked 3 on the trot in the last. The latter was a massive test as we had barely touched the ball in that period, but the ability to win that centre clearance and generate an opportunity through Mlikshakes was something we couldn’t do in the past and from then on we started winning contested ball again and wrestled the momentum back. Sometimes that means so much more in a final that playing the perfect 4 quarter game. Jack Viney - BOG by a very long way. An absolute man possessed. All those training sessions and him getting flogged would have had him so sick of not playing and he has just unleashed in the last few weeks. A man that was made to play finals! Michael Hibberd- In my opinion they were the two best. There were periods in the 2nd and 3rd where the ball spent A LOT of time in defence. Their delivery was pretty good as well and we were under siege. The number of times this guy saved our rear ends is probably not measured by stats and his ability to kick a brilliant weighted ball out of the defensive 50 under pressure to a target is so valuable. The Backline - Along with Hibbo these guys had their work cut out for them. I wouldn’t have been surprised if they were really knackered by half time. Jetta was incredible keeping Breust quiet, an AA forward. Oscar and a Frosty continue to really impress. By the way Oscar hits nearly every short pass to a teammate so it would be refreshing if people would give the maligning treatment a rest now! T-Mac - 10 marks, 3 contested in the 50, 4 deadly goals! When you need a clunker he provides it. So valuable. Gawn and McEvoy had a good duel I thought early but Maxy took over! An kick a goal now too! That mark in the last quarter was something to behold, is equal to our chances. Petracca played a very good game and moved well, thought he chopped his kicks a bit often to be considered in our top 3 but he was much less fumbly than last week. Oliver the clearance king, Brayshaw not as active but two clutch goals. We showed that we can beat quality opposition now with a few more gears to go to. We have exceeded expectations, not getting ahead of ourselves but it is fair to say that we are a good football side and a finals football side. We belong! I want to go to Perth badly. I am probably way too late to the flight booking party and the cash outlay will be ginormous. It could be a bridge too far unfortunately but hoping for some kind of miracle. For now though, just take it all in! Lastly, to all of you. You are the best fans to be associated with. Seeing all the red and blue again and all the people at the Mountain View after on the rooftop bar singing the song was such a privilege. I love you all ā¤ļø
  24. 6. Viney 5. Hibberd 4. T-Mac 3. Jetta 2. Petracca 1. Gawn
  25. Thanks for your input David ā€˜Melb will do some damage in the finals’ King.
