Like I said, you should consider editing or removing your post.

He is currently head of the board of said, City on a Hill. The church isn't right wing, it is just a church like other churches.

He didn't write an article as you have mentioned.

    He hasn't given any sermons.

No worries, you can leave your post but, I think it's quite ironic you are willing to character assassinate someone for something you don't seem to know much about and have listed factually incorrect information.

You probably right. We certainly could do with an A grade mid coming through the ranks.
I guess it all depends on how JT views the draft. Given this draft is stacked with mids and is super even and deep- Cal has said it’s most even he has ever seen, there will be gems found right through this draft and if we give JT two picks inside the top 15 I’m sure he will find one and hopefully two.

The other reason I think we should consider splitting is we don’t have a lot of draft capital, we currently have 5,38,45,51 &61 assume we get 25 back for Nibbler.
IMO we need a mature ruck, and a mature mid as a min to be traded in. I think we need two more mids via trade or draft and a small forward. Thats a lot of holes to fill and if we blow pick 5 on one player then we don’t have a heap of good picks after that.

I wonder if there is any chance the club may consider trading next years first rounder into this year to have another pick in the first round? Probably depends a little bit on what we would require to draft Kalani White next year I presume.

There is something odd with Ralphie's statement. I mean could you imagine being the partner of an AFL star just cold calling player agents for legal advice? Seems a bit weird for mine and unlikely.

She is his commercial and brand manager since April, not just his partner. As people have mentioned his player manager advised against this course of action in terms of seeking a trade, they went ahead anyway.

  4. For the naysayers who mentioned it was all media noise, Jon Ralph reported on Fox that Petracca and his fiancé both personally approached other clubs to find a trade solution to get out of Melbourne in the last few weeks. They also exhaustively approached pro scouts etc to find a potential trade route. Don’t shoot the messenger.

  5. John Ralph has mentioned that Smith has been asked by the board to fill the vacant position on the board at the end of the year. He also mentioned that he won’t considering sitting on the board just to be a board member and that if he accepts he is likely to be the next president and will replace Roffey.

    edit: spelling

Sure, though pick 5 is a good start.

Am I right to say we haven't traded our second round pick?

If not we'll have a mid twenty draft pick which might add a future best 22 player if we get it right.

After that tge draft is a lottery.

So we'll need to trade in at least two best 22 players.

That's a tall order, but with nibbla's, Gus BBB and smiths salary off the books, we'll have some room in our salary cap to be a meaningful player in trade season.

I'm pretty sure we traded our second rounder for McAdam? We may have got a second rounder back in the Grundy trade?

That Fox Footy article was full of nonsense.

I have no inside knowledge, just going by what I read in the media, online and my gut feeling.

If Petracca and MFC can't sort out their issues I would say that a trade with CFC could be possible. I would guess it would involve Pick 11, Adam Cerra, a future 1st round pick and Tracc taking a haircut on his contract. The Blues haven't poured any cold water over this story so the idea of a trade is probably being entertained, numbers crunched and calls being made ...

Silvagni isn't going anywhere, he has a destiny to fill ... two flags in Navy Blue like his grandfather and his father! 😁

No offence but MFC doesn’t have to deal with Carlton. As mentioned previously 5 more years are left on his contract. We will want a top 5 pick or quality player to even consider entering negotiations. Are Carlton willing to deal TDK or Curnow? Didn’t think so, so that’s where I’d hope discussions will end from Melbourne’s point of view.

Gutnick’s concerns comes as the Herald Sun can reveal Petracca’s partner Isabella Beischer – formerly a lawyer at the Hall & Wilcox legal firm, is now the business manager of Trac 5 Pty Ltd.

She is the key driver of “Brand Petracca”, which reportedly is one of reasons influencing Petracca’s desire to pursue a trade to a big Melbourne club.

She became Petracca’s business manager in April this year, two months prior to Petracca being severely injured in the King’s Birthday clash with Collingwood

Paging @Chook in Perth looks like it’s fair game now.

Thats because he really has no genuine case to ask for a clearance with the reasons so far.

Yes not everything was smooth medically but the initial diagnosis couldn’t be obtained on field or even in the change rooms. He should have in hindsight not gone back on but he was part of the Fagan that did want to try to return. Perhaps not enough patient/ doctor communication assistance artist stage hampered things.

From there it was downhill as the Club and players MAY have not kept communication channels open enough. Alternatively I have no doubt it was an extremely challenging for his family also and very draining on all concerned.

Trac’s health is still not  returned so he can only do basic tasks towards a restart to health and training.

Nothing  to say of the mental side of this still ever present.

It is really too early for decisions/reactions IMO and the elephant in the room is Trac is clearly prioritising his off field practises in his “big Club” talk.

Very disappointing. After a decade of great times and super development for both him and our Club.

Hopefully there is enough time for a breath overwork and a middle ground can please everyone. Also that his health is still the main priority.

Get Well Trac. And all the best.

Bonkers you have made some very salient observations and are crucial with my points also.

I agree with most of your points, but I have a few comments. He is currently receiving counseling or seeing a psychologist, which may indicate that he isn't in the right frame of mind at the moment.

Finding middle ground is really up to him. If the leaks continue, it leaves the club with limited options. So far, without any change on his part, he hasn't given the club much room to maneuver. Actions reflect one's values and ethics, and if he or his management continue on this path, it’s clear he’s not aligned with the team-first values and isn't invested in outcomes that benefit everyone at the MFC. As I mentioned, it doesn’t leave the club with much choice. In a team sport, when a player behaves this way, the usual response is to move them on for the best possible return unless they change.

As a Manchester United supporter, I've seen this repeatedly under Ferguson; no player is bigger than the club, and there's always a way to turn the situation around for the club's benefit. The club should be proactive in managing this issue and should start treating him as a commodity if that's the approach he’s taking—focusing on playing in front of big crowds, enhancing his brand, and so on. It seems clear to me that these are his priorities, with his medical concerns possibly being secondary. He may have grievances with the club, but without knowing the specifics, I can't comment further. Ideally, the club should address and work to improve these issues, but I understand it’s not that simple.

I don't think it’s too early to make these assessments—he's shown his hand through his actions and behaviors. While reconciliation might still be possible, my primary concern is the club’s long-term well-being. Like you, I wish him the best with his health, but my priority remains the club.

Post evidence.  You can't.  Sycophant to the likes of McClure and Morris.  Sad. Your username is apt.

You have people like Garry Lyon, Gary Pert, Simon Goodwin, Alan Richardson and now Kate Roffey having to front the media to hose speculation down. They are being asked questions and have not denied any of it, all they have basically said is that the club will hold him to his contract. Honestly do you think that would happen if there was no substance to any of this? The irony of your statement is probably lost on you, have a good one.

How do we know that he has told the club that he wants to be traded? Please provide concrete evidence.

You can't be serious, just keep putting your head in the sand. If there was no leaking there is no story. We've had a running commentary for the last 2 weeks from certain sections of the media. I can understand loyalty to Christian as he has been at the club for a long time and has been a valued player, but don't be naive.

Melbourne fc comment: Trac will be a demon and see out his contract.

    Trac and Manager: No Comment.

Nothing has advanced in this story since this.

That’s not quite true, we know he has told the club in exit meetings he wants to be traded, we know that his side is leaking to the media a lot of info. The problem for him is that whoever is handling this process doesn’t seem to  know what they are doing as there is no possible exit for him at the moment. No club has the salary space or the picks/player/s to satisfy us in a trade without Melbourne being totally screwed over. That hasn’t stopped him trying to burn the club to the ground with leaking to the media and tarnishing our reputation which effects our efforts to bring in other players to the club to ironically improve as he has mentioned he wants the club to do. I understand he may have grievances which is fair enough but what he is doing isn’t professional and is effecting his workplace that he will almost certainly remain in next year.

What has changed from my perspective as a member/supporter is how I see him and his management team, they come across ad totally amateur, childish, greedy and stupid.

  13. Reminds me of the Billings and Hunter trades, washed up and past their best. Can’t say I’m excited about this or the current direction of the club and overall recruitment strategy at the moment. Bring on the external review, accountability and transparency at all levels of the club.

  14. This is only the half of it, check out who is managing his commercial affairs and branding. As an outsider looking in there are conflicts of interest in every line of management. The whole thing looks like an amateur hour balls up.

  16. Not sure if this has been posted previously. But I find it pretty strange the type of management setup he has regarding his commercial side and so forth now, apparently all of his management structure has changed. From 2 - 3 minutes in there is some interesting listening.

  17. The only way a good club loses out of this is to play Christian or his agents game. We should be doing everything we can to become a better team and club out of this scenario and if that means we could trade him to West Coast for Reid as an example we should explore it. If the options don’t make us better then just refuse the trade request and address the internal issues in house.

The club needs to get on the front foot with player managers and the media to shape the narrative. Part of that could be that we are willing to put our pick 5 and future first on the table if the right deal were able to be struck for a player or players that can replace Trac and other holes on our list. That could then open discussions regarding any potential deals for Petracca.

If Petracca was to leave he’d leave a massive hole in our salary cap along with retirements and de-listings which could go close to $2.5m a year or more of cap space if you include Brayshaws contract and Ben Brown etc. That gives us plenty of cash as well as picks to chase someone like Reid if we are able to get that deal done. All hypotheticals of course but we can’t be victims in this process and stand still and beg Petracca to stay, we have to get on the front foot.

This could be how we land Houston and keep a first round pick.

With pick 5 we will hypothetically get a 200 game player of elite talent who we can shape the team around, most probably a midfielder to replace Brayshaw.

If we trade for Houston and get 13 back, we get an AA half back flanker for another 70-100 games and a speculative mid teens pick. I’m not sure having Houston is really going to evolve our team that much that it will move the needle and put us back into contention. If we are looking to trade pick 5 I think we’d be better going for a Key Position player or an elite midfield talent if available as it is more likely to have a greater impact on our team. One of our best finishers going inside 50 at times was Windsor, if we can find a midfielder in the draft with footy smarts and is a good kick that should compliment our existing midfield.

I don't expect Richo to be there next year, and Goody wouldn't be the first coach to say someone will be an x player next year, and for it to go the other way.

Just a hunch on Richo? Or is that based on solid info?

I didn't see on the couch but apparently Garry went full Melbourne mode

He said that in the unlikely event MFC was to allow a trade that the MFC would remind him he signed a 7 year contract but they may reconsider it in 3 years time if the trade currency was a decent offer coming from the new Tassie team.

Well, we win a LOT more than we lose, and if the defence is keeping our opponents well below average levels, that paints a pretty good picture.

Yeh it’s a good foundation or footing for our game. But that can be built upon in other areas when we have the ball.
