Pretty much agree with RR. A lot easier to sit back and throw abuse when you have no idea the inside workings of a club! Not sure what you mean by Jimmie not being around to see what Don has done to the club. Jim was involved with everything last year including the sacking of Bailey and appointment of Neeld. For what it's worth I think Don is doing a great job and things will turn very quickly. This time next year hopefully we will all be laughing at this!

I for one won't be there. It's seriously a little to far from New York, but I will get up at about 3am to watch. Maybe I might be the Dees lucky charm!
-
So not worth watching the replay? Glad I didn't get up at 2:40am to watch it!

I was talking to someone that use to be at the club and has plenty of mates still there. The point he brought up was the three guys that have excelled this year in Clark, Magner and Jones are the three guys that over the preseason not only trained the hardest but were also doing all the extra work and sessions. Not only fitness but rehab and a like.
I think we got the selections right and it's not that the club isn't developing players sometimes it's on the players themselves to put in the extra work. A great example is Gary Ablett. One preseason he simply just worked his arse of doing a lot of extra runnning and weight work and we all know the story from there!

I thought LJ had a great 2nd qtr but faded a bit in the last half. Is it just me or does LJ not fly for his marks anymore? There was a point midway through last year where he stoped flying for marks and ever since then he seems to stay down and get the crumb. Get the boy back in the side and tell him to fly for everything that comes near him.
We do need a forward crumber as Davey doesn't work hard enough. Also Howe likes to spoil every teammate to try and take hanger every time.

So was Watt's good enough to get a recall. I can only listen through the radio (Box Hill station - A family member plays for Box Hill not a Hawks listed player and the commentary is horrible!) and from what I heard he wasn't great. They mentioned Murphy was playing on him who was the Hawks best and Watts wasn't named in the best.
With the sub rule would love to see Jurrah as the sub for a few games.
Also with our poor kicking and run out of defence the sooner Blease and Tappy can get spots the better.
I'd like to give Fitzy a couple of games taste of the big leagues before putting him back.

I would rather the players playing for Casey stay home and focus on the game tomorrow. The players are required to attend, mostly functions and etc. Some would have had to stay for the after match ones.

Moloney in the Age's best second week in a row but still has shite put on him.
-
People just need to work out the role of a player manager. ALl player managers go around and see what other clubs are interested in there client and how much they would offer. This is there job! Not sure why all the Moloney bashing on here.
-
Jones is a frustrating one. Love his attack on the ball and will just go in hard but his kicking is attrocious. 44% efficiency yesterday by footy. Moloney was 53% by foot. Have to do better.
Howes 2 marks were exciting. he will take mark of the year one day. It would just be great to see him kick some more goals
I thought Rivers was good and Davey was showing some positive signs.
I would hate to play in our backline. The amount of times it comes in there.
My frustrations were the easy goals Watts and Clark missed in the 1st quarter, DAlhaus was basically allowed to do whatever he wanted. Frawley couldnt get that ball through for a point that cost us a goal and how we just couldnt get the extra goal to get in front.
I think with Moloney's is comes up low because he often gets the quick kick out of the centre. As our forward line had Dunn and Watts near the half forward line neither impose themselves enough to mark the ball and were often out marked.

Was far from our worst today. Gave some run, made a few errors but give him a few games before writing him off this year. Just an easy target for the keyboard heros.

If we stop stupid turnovers we would be right in the game. Sellar, Jamar and Bail just stupid play! If Clark can settle down we are a chance.
-
They do have the web jet sponsor but Ofcourse nothing on back.
Jumpers look so much better without a back sponsor. But hoping for one soon!
-
Hope Cale does well today. Far to many people having a crack at him. Will most likely need a few weeks before he hits his best form in the top level.
-
Oh yeah, football. Forgot about that.
LOL at Moloney's "injury". Soft. Wish they had just said "omitted for playing like garbage".
The sad thing is, our midfield just went from bad to worse!
Would love to see you call him soft to his face! One of the best and toughest blokes at the club. Keyboard hero at it's finest! Not that your the only one though

2010 we had a similar shocker then came out and nearly beat collingwood. Very kneejerk reaction over yesterday. Don't get me wrong i'mm as pee'd off as anyone, but writing players off who have one bad game and labelling players soft is no good.
-
Ok, I am their biggest critic but...
Let's just give them some time.
If we are allowing everyone else the "getting used to Neeld's gameplan" excuse, you have to give it to the older boys too.
It would be harder to adjust for them as they would be more use to the old one. So you do have a point.
-
Because it is terrible. We all know the score- same types- we have extractors with no outside class. We have flat track bullies, we have no pace and the fact that a first gamer in Magner was BOG for us yesterday is pathetic.
I would keep Magner, Jones and McKenzie as they show heart. I would consider trying to turn Jones into a small forward because when Viney comes in we will have too many similar types playing mid.
It's been said before but we need a star. I know they are not exactly growing on trees but if we can't draft one we are doomed to fail until our next window is open.
I would put everyone on the trade table bar Jones, Frawley, Trengove, Martin, Howe, Watts, Magner and Clark. Our compo pics also.
Who could we get? Who is available? Proven midfielders with leadership and heart are our number one priorities.
You have pulled the trigger very very early! Magner plays one ok game he is untouchable. Moloney gets 19 brownlow votes wins the best and fairest by a mile, has one bad game as the lions clearly thought he was the main person to stop and he is a dud we need to get rid of!
-
i have a mate who nows Moloney quite well through sponsorship at the club and he has told me that he is really [censored] at not being in the leadership group, and is carrying a major chip on his shoulder
Also Beams did a great job on him as well. Jamar having a shocker didn't help.
-
Davey is definitely gone. Is a pea heart and and has been down for a while. Green is struggling to hold his place. Moloney just came of an B&F season and was heavily tagged. No excuse for today but it gives him time. No ruck tap outs didn't help.

Mckenzie will struggle to keep his spot. Moloney had a shocker, Jones was ok and Magner was good. Mckenzie is a bit slow and a shame as he seems to have the best hands of the lot.
-
its your fault casey lost
93 beats 87 doesn't it?
-
Ah there are 18 teams now!
-
Howe does more damage than good with his flying for a mark. Serious needs to pee off and let Clark try and mark it!

The annoying thing is these media people keep saying how the older players don't care and look to be gone but never try to get an interview or comment from the players.
