  1. Silly comment. Casey finished top of the ladder mate. MFC have shafted them a little with the amount of senior listed players that they've pulled out.

Hence why it is a joke, the fixture is a shambles and we just pull all our players out once our season is over. I should have mentioned it was also be better for Casey.

  2. Here it is from the man himself..................BP interviewed after the 2010 draft..............and in his own words on Lucas Cook "he was a bit of the forgotten man in this draft".................so alarm bells didn't ring BP?????

Talks a lot about Cooks endurance, work rate, kicking, decision making..............and goes on to say "IF" he marks it inside 50, he scores most times or words to that effect.

No mention of contested marking, strong hands, crashing packs, etc normally associated with quality key forwards.

Perhaps he was still caught up in the GF replay of 2010, and the form of Riewoldt.

Can't be a complete dill though............no complaints with Howe or Tommy McDonald!

    [media=]

He says elite about everything with Cook!!!!

Interesting that when it finished i watch highlights of Mcdonald, played a lot forward and kicked a few goals!

  3. And he made Cook cry.

It's funny that, everyone on here abusing players for not training hard enough etc. Brent was one who pushed these young 'stars' at training and the gym. Cook didn't like it. Watts sulked after the boxing camp because it was to tough, James Mcdonald told him to harden up as he was a professional footballer. Now the two of them are gone.

  4. HUN seems to think he has walked out and Port will use a preseason or rookie pick. Weren't going to get anything for him anyway. Glad it's over and he is gone to be honest. I never liked they extra leeway he was receiving over other players, think the club did everything for him and applaud them for that until he walked out on us.

  5. Sad to see him go ? I'm sad he's on the list.

Moloney represents all that is wrong at Melbourne. The worst culture in the AFL. Bomber Thompson got it right when he was the first player he wanted to show the door to get pick 12, which would help yield Ottens. He was one of Ablett's best mates and it wasn't long after Moloney left that Scarlett told Ablett to pull his head in.

Moloney is just another ordinary midfielder that played the game on his terms. Winning a B&F at a bottom club isn't any great shakes. FFS, Davey did it. You're a bottom club for a reason, you don't have much talent.

There's one thing that all coaches requires of their players and it's called "buy in". If a coach's players don't buy in to the game plan, or the path the club is heading a coach will never succeed. Moloney was all that was wrong in this past era of Melbourne and quite simply he didn't buy in under Neeld. It was too hard. Now whether you like it, or not, Neeld isn't going anywhere, so the obvious solution is that the senior player rotting away at Casey goes somewhere. He'll be better at a different club under a different coach. He'll have no choice.

This club needs players on the same page and those with an axe to grind out the door. I hope he goes. He should go. He needs to go. And if the compensation is only third round then fine. The last thing I'm concerned about is compensatory picks. Let's start improving the culture.

I think you'll find Geelong really didn't want to let him go. Was out of him and Bartel. Moloney heard Melbourne were keen and wanted to play for the club.

Interestingly that in another thread there was talk about the players lack of intensity in gym sessions. One person that brought this and other things like the boxing camp was Moloney.

If he goes Neeld does have to stop making excuses about games experience etc. Shattered he is gone, a top bloke and despite what some think he always gave his best for the MFC.

  6. I know he would have signed off on the deal, but didn't the Storm have a very similar deal, what I am saying is that several sporting clubs got burnt by Energywatch. Heck even the company itself got burnt and had to remove the guy, the negative publicity from that idiot has probably all but killed off the company. You sound like you are happy to broad brush everyone that had a dealing with Energywatch and blame them for doing business with them as being irresponsible and negligent?

One thing I will say is that Schwab handled the Energy watch thing like a genius! We could have been in real strife but we came out looking great and got new sponsors lining up!

The other fact is the he wanted Bailey gone after we lost to the Bulldogs by 10 goals on the Friday night. He went hard to have him ousted and they were unhappy with the way things were being handled with things like Junior and the goings on.

  7. Pity it's only 2 years. I guess he'll have a clear pic of the club's outlook and be able to pull a much bigger paycheck then.

One reason would be the structure of contracts, As Jones and Howe have signed for 3 you don't want too many players out of contract at the one year.

  8. We average 42 hit outs per game against 39 for our opponents. Our ruck options are outstanding relative to every where else on the ground. Tom as an emerging big key defender has been one of the few shining lights this season. Better than Frawley on current form. We would lose more than we gain. Besides not tall enough to ruck.

The ruck issue is an interesting one, what it shows is the time to learn the set ups. If anyone has seen the booklets/powerpoints of set ups players use they would understand that it takes a lot of time to adjust to what seems to be a totally different set up.

  9. He makes sense doesn't he. Really liked his one yesterday saying that the media only look at the 7 day picture. Funny thing is during the game I was worried but by the end of his press conference!

Another thing that was mentioned when I was talking to someone was the wind. PLayers nowadays never really have to put up with the kind of breeze that was around yesterday, add this with the amount of running and the pressure this was a big reason for the poor skill level. Doesn't excuse every other game we have played.

  10. A mate of mine is a Gold Coast recruiter. not the head guy but more of a scout. He said they are looking to load up on experienced guys again as there first lot failed. Krakour, Brown Brennan etc. So Petterd may be in the mix for them. We are going to offer 13 no doubt, at the Presidents lunch against Gold Coast I'm pretty sure Melbourne invited his family to the day.

  11. Unlike the others, Jones isn't a well documented & certified headcase - he'll take it in his stride with no delusions of granduer.

So Green, Davey and Moloney are headcases? What do you base this on? KNowing Moloney personally I find him a top bloke that stuffed up once. Has done a hell of a lot for the club and the new players that come in. You are correct about Jones, a quiet guy but is one of the nicest guys on the list.

  12. Question is ... would you try to sign Blease for two or for three years?

If Howe got 3 he deserves 5. Definitely worth a 3 but will see how they structure other players. Just off topic but do GWS and GC have selections in the pre season draft. In their first years I think they didn't for some reason.

  13. His skills are worse than almost every other player on our list. Turnovers are killers

This, tries to do far to much when he simply cannot handball to a player 3 metres away. 6 turnover that have resulted in goals in 2 weeks! Having said that is only young and will hopefully learn/be taught to be better.

  14. High tackle counts (without winning the ball yourself) often can mean you're second/third to the footy, reactive and lazy.

More of the same from Sylvia. Please club heirarchy put us all out of our misery and move this guy on.

But also you have to look a half forward with a team that can't hit the side of a barn would be hard. One example when Blease tried a 3 metre handball and missed him by a metre.
