Heard Casey are 5 goals down at quarter time but not sure about the exact scores.

Martin will probably get Buddy but I'd love to see Warnock have a shot on Buddy as well along with Frawley if he plays.

Warnock will probably get Roughead primarily.

I'd love to see a Davey V Rioli battle.

Davey on rioli would be delicious!!! but i think they will try to tag him out! or even bateman on davey would be good. Also considering it is indigenous round...

I thin martin v buddy would be a good match up. i think martin has the speed and agility to almost match franklin. Warnock is better close to goal..

We will need a loose man to float in front of roughy and buddy... Green might get the go or maybe even petterd could do this role!

Second on belly for dunn..

Bartram has been very underated. did a very good job on cooney who had little influence. Pace is very good, will get better and better with decision making. Just needs to learn his limitations (as a few players do!)

Yeah the kids doing well, run with it, see how long he can keep it up, might last the season.. reckon he might be our 2nd rising star nom-Bennell, behind Grimesy, if Morton isn't still eligable??

Bell, saw him early on as a potential 'michael voss' type middy- in and outside, big body. but he's never delivered. Last week could have been the turning point at Casey. Took a Valenti type role and did it better. Time for them to swap back.

Petterd IMO, most of what he does is great, but just needs to find it a bit more. Couple of weeks in the magoos wouldn't hurt, see if he can add that extra 5-10 useful possies per game.

Dunn, hassn't progressed. GC Bait.

Miller runs all day, but this is Footy, not athletics. Should have gone with Godfrey and Holland..

Can we give bruce a chance, now that for the 1st time in years we actually have a game plan and he actually has some decent players to kick to??

You've dropped Miller and petterd but haven;t brought in a replacement forward. Miller will not get dropped. less said the better, but petterd will be on thin ice.

On seeing casey last week the only one i can see coming in is bell. Hughes looked good with ten marks but is on the rookie list.

Bennel and green might be options if fit!

Bell did play mainly in the middle today and was very good. Has earned a call up if he gets one. Still think we need an extra option up forward with ricky p not finding much of the footy..

He actually is pretty similar to dunn, but i think he has a bit more of a crack. Likes to get in and under and works very hard! I think he will not be to far off a game.

On a side note i spoke to a mate who stayed around after the game and Danny Hughes won the frozen food award for one of the best. i wonder what that would include after i had a few dim sims that im starting to regret.

Just got home from the long trek to casey.

A bad loss in the end. Was a pretty horrid game. Skills were terrible and there was only a slight breeze.

Of the dees players, straight of the bat with Watts. Wasn't his day. Didn't really get into the game and might be a fair way off senior footy. looked good when in space though.

Jamar took some big marks and i thought was pretty good.

Bell has a real crack, kicked a goal and played really well.

Buckley was ok another that turned it over a little.

Newton was a typical newton day really kicked 2 but could and should've done a lot more.

Strauss was ok.

Hughes took some good marks, kick 1.3 in the first quarter, set up newton and jetta with clever handballs in the 2nd. Really impressive and hopefully we give him a crack at senior level..

Jetta, was creative and dangerous, missed a few oppurtunities..

Not sure who i missed... but they tried the run carry and handball game and it just didn't work..

sorrry i missed tom mac... he kicked 2 goals and was quite good.. Not sure of his proper position though was bit all over the ground. Was another guilt of a few turnovers..

spoke to him at the aftermatch function and he didn't mention anything about it... so not sure what to take from that!!

On another bright note, i was at the aftermatch function where jimmy interviewed Jmac. One thing Jmac said was that for the first time since he has been at the club there is a real feeling that we are going somewhere. That there is a clear direction and we are playing for each other and as a team. Which i think is starting to be noticed from outsiders. the way they play as a team and shared the ball is looking almost geelong like.

I thought our Forward line struggled yesterday, Robbo while he kicked 3, 2 were from average free kicks. Bate was better yesterday. But we need another target. So maybe Newton gets another crack. We had truck loads of the footy but couldn't hold a mark ni the forward 50.

If we play valenti again he needs a position. was played forward and that's just not his go.

Also went to the aftermatch function and spoke to Beamer, who btw is a great bloke and he didn't mention any injury. So not totally sure that is true but i maybe wrong.

Playing for casey this week...

Has been ill!

Why? Because he kicked his girlfriend, hangs out with unsavoury types, gets on the squirt, doesn't turn up to training and is a meat axe? That's not very fair.

Jurrah will be playing for casey this week. Would have played last week so that's why he is not on the injury list.

I think he only had an illness so nothing serious

I think st. kilda would prefer to play at etihad considering how well they play there!

I'd cut Wheatley, Whelan, McDonald, Jamar, Bell and Robertson before Dunn. In saying this I would need to see continued improvement in his form for the remainder of the year. The pressure is mounting on him and Bate to deliver on their potential. We must remember they are still young.

So you would cut our captain, our nuber one ruck and our number one forward before dunn!

Also i think maric can still get a nomination so he to may end up with one!

If he is viewed as not competing for best 22 after 5 years on our list why do want to keep a player on that clogs the list?

He is not competing against Strauss and Blease and we clearly have more preferred options in the best 22.

If we do finish last with less than 4 wins, we have picks 1,2,18,34,50, 66/ PSD #1. If we take Spencer and say Valenti we still have picks 1,2, and 18 to come onto the list plus PSD1. Thats six players on our list that have to come off through retirement/trading/delisting.

Any thoughts how we achieve that while holding onto an NQR player who is not best 22 for "depth"?

Some hard decisions will be made with one of Bate, Bell and dunn probably not being on our list next year.

I think Bennel may be a chance in the next 2 weeks. Grimes will get one for sure.

Other players who might get one will be jetta and i think Watts if he plays will get one. Mainly because he was the number 1 pick and will get a lot more air time than some other players.

Cheney could also end up with one

I've been saying this for quite a while. Not a forward, can't tag a player. Not tough enough or smart enough for te midfield.

Maybe if rivers and frawley out he may survive and play down back, but it is almost a last resort.

How far away is jamar from playing? This will determine whether spencer is a chance. If the big russian is back for casey then spencer will go back to the rookie list. I know he can be promoted for someone else but would it be worth it for 1-2 weeks. Especially considering PJ had such a great game and Martin could play forward ruck this week.

I don't think robbo has giving us a lot more than newton. The only problem i see is i don't think we can play both in the one side. Robbo's kicking is now an issue with not being able to kick 50 metres. Is newton can improve he will over take robbo!

Because he struggles with the physicality side of the game and the opposition are aware of it.

He tries to be real tough and push and shove but when it came to it the wind basically blew him over!!!

Is really quite soft when it comes to it! My problem was in the third when they got a run on and he just didn't go back hard enough for the ball and they got a mark and shot at goal. Oh and hunter tearing him a new one in the third didn't help

Batram was one of our best and his speed is a great asset. Will be very handy against the Dogs..

Our changes down back will be forced, but up forward we are really struggling.

Bate is desperately out of form and does not warrant a game, this is made more clear by robbo struggling. but he will only get better the more games he plays.

Our only marking forward options are newton, and maybe hughes of the rookie list. He can play the lead up forward role that bate plays. Can mark and is better below his knees than bate ( but so am i!!!). I would like to see how this kid goes as i think he has talent.

Cheney should be brought in.. Dunn might survive, its funny i have wanted him dropped every week now but for match ups he might be handy down back and finally find a position!

The hun is saying he will miss a large portion of the season. Although i'm not sure what they are basing this on!

I also think it's worth noting that he was on shannon hurn yesterday. (i think might be wrong) for the first half. I think he really restricted his influence on the game. Hurn has an amazing kick and really gives west coast great drive from defense..

ALso his marks were brilliant yesterday. Let's not forget three times he was loose at half forward and mclean just couldn't hit him up. the only reason he got another shot at it was he was good enough to keep the ball in front of himself and dish off a handball.

I know it wasn't a great game for col but needs to be played hff rotating on the ball. Once we get some more skilled players in the side look out.

Also on that miss in the last, i think he was the only one in the side i would have backed to kick it. Robbo had 2 shots from the same spot and were terrible kicks. PJ is the only other one!
