A few points of interest (some may have been mentioned already).

- Melbourne kicked more goals that West Coast which isn't a bad thing (despite the team still losing) but showed that the forward line still weren't seeing enough of the ball.

- Robertson is still a very good footballer

- Why late in the last quarter when Cox threw the ball back to Dunn when a free kick was paid was there not a 50 metre penalty as Cox deliberately threw it high in the air and it fell short of the Dunn? The penalty would have put the ball on Melbourne's HFF and Melbourne would have had a chance to score with the game in the balance.

- Bate really is rubbish below his knees.

Would be very interested in why you think robertson is still a very good footballer?

Think he is really struggling, twice he couldn't kick the ball 50 metres. I know he is still only a few games back but he is working against age...

It wasnt a 50 metre against cox because when he threw the ball dunn ran further back. Was a correct decision.

Dunn getting smashed by hunter, and again didn't go back hard enough and the eagles player marked.

Bate having his best game in 2 years (except 2nd half against Freo last year)

WOuldn't be hard with his recent form but i don't think he is having a great game. Still not sure he deserves a game next week.

Robbo and petterd need to lift..

Jones looks great, he looks so much quicker and skills are getting better and better.

Bennel looks sensational.

Almost feel sorry for sylvia, three times was in the clear yet mclean kicks it at his toes then bruce puts one on his head..

PJ is doing really well on cox. Has good hands for a big bloke.

Disappointing for all our dominance we barely scored... TWo umpiring things, the first bounce. Why was that not called back? and the boundary umpire who was standing next to the ball when it was over!!!

THought PJ did really well. Moloney loves to have crack! And morton is going to be a gun...

The players on he LTI Jamar for which spencer was promoted made sense, but with blease who was playing a game anyway means no need to promote anyone... To elevate mckenzie would be strange as he hasn't done enough to deserve a game. And Valenti probably the only rookie deserving but why promote him for meesen? just as i write this i see on the afl website it has been confirmed and wona out for six!!!

The one thing about the melee was that the umpires just walked off... with many people yelling at the umpires to do something they said it wasn't there problem...

Now one question who's job is it? i bet it wouldnt have got out of hand if they hung around and threatened to lay reports!!!

it is far too low.. another thing that annoys me is the scoreboard, or now its just an advertisment screen, all it plays are ads.. rarely highlights or stats!!

he was definately having a shot, had a few players open but he couldn't get it to then without giving them a hospital handpass so took it on himself to have a shot.... was a absolute floater but it was struck well enough on his wrong side and went through. which i think is a great effort considering the pressure on him

i also have to feel a little sorry for him. Just watching the geelong game and seeing robbo miss easy shots and blow one out on the full embarrasingly but we still love him yet juice has been banished and bagged relentlessly...

i know robbo has a few more runs on the board but he still thinks his return was more important than the game

Get rid of:

Sylvia - Would probably be a servicable player at a better club where he can flash in and out of the play but we can't wait 3-4 years for the list to get to his comfort level. Trade him

PJ - He tries but just isn't up to it. Delist.

Bell - Shocking awareness. Trade to SA?

Possibles:

Dunn - Thought we had a real find when he fist started playing but he just seems a bit lost now. Trade bait?

Bate - Ditto. Wish he had a right side. He just seems too predictable and not sure of his role.

Jamar - I doubt getting rid of 2 rucks will happen but if we could pick up a discard ruckman with a couple of years left in them I'd cut him from the list. (King or Ottens type trades springs to mind)

Miller - Tries his guts out but might be a good trade to GC next year.

Bartram - see Miller except I am not sure on the trade possibilities.

lost me when you said we could trade dunn??? who would we get from southern football league third division that will help us? this is where dunn should be playing!

Did do a lot wrong and not a lot right but will be better for the run. Hard for guys coming in after missing early games in the year.. The positives were he kept finding himself in the right spots... and we wee playing geelong

BAte for a half forward just cannot take a overhead mark... maybe promote hughes to play the lead up forward, is better over head, just his fitness at the moment from comming back from injury.

To replace dunn either grimes or maybe bail... or promote valenti he has worked hard enougha nd played well enough to deserve a call up.

with newton 5, watts 3, and hughes 3, there is a lot of pressure for bate and petterds spot!

Also think you missed dunn a lot of niggle and pushing and shoving yet has little courage foinf back with the flight!

I also think frawley is becoming something special, looks good in defence and has great run out of defence!

surely people will start to turn from col and realise dunn has massive courage issues and is hopeless. Bate has had 5 shockers in a row but seems to be a walk up start....

Don't get me started on bruce.. typically butchered the ball, was laughable in the third against johnson and his kick to maric that nearly had him killed was terrible!!

Dunn's lack of courage and footy smarts is terrible and bate should suffer newtons fate surely... he has had 5 shockers and newton had one!!!

i for one will admit i mark valenti quite hard, but today i thought he was very good. Up against afl standard midfield in cousins cotchin and simmonds i thought he was terrific!

From being at the ground and no knowing the stats. It is also hard to tell who was who!

But newton was very good, missed some easy one but was the difference. Also Hughes' third quarter changed the game and put us on top...

Watts was good, great goal but it was a floater! Still looks a bit like a schoolboy amongst men.

Wona struggled and got some close attention.

Mcnamara was good, in the game a lot but skills let him down at time..

It was a fair effort for the forwards to kick as many as they did with the delivery they received. a few of the casey guys just butcher the ball or they run to far then have nothing to kick to...

Good question! Maybe we leave Spencer in when Jamar is due back in a few?? Maybe Valents gets one last chance for a crack. Sounds like he has been going well of late in the magoos!

If jamar is due back then we dont need spencer, with meeson doing well, jamar to come back in and PJ will do better at VFL than spencer...

With blease not in the main side i would prefer trying one of the untried rookies. Out of hughes and healey i think... healey looks ok but is only playing in the twos... hughes is still coming back from injury but is playing well at casey..

yeah it is the t.v game, some might guides say another game collingwood vs ballarat or something but that ground was unavailable or something!!
