  1. Congratulations Dees!

For 50 years I was a dees supporter and member until recently going across to Richmond. Part of that reason was a 12 month suspension from this forum for vehemently opposing chasing Mick Malthouse, then Neeld, as coaches.

Anyway, today was a great win for the Dees. Again Congratulations.

    I'd like to leave you with these words from a singing artist in 1982 named Toni Basil;

    Oh, Mickey, you're so fine
You're so fine you blow my mind
    Hey, Mickey
    Hey, Mickey

    Oh, Mickey, what a pity
    You don't understand

    It's guys like you, Mickey
Oh, what you do, Mickey, do, Mickey
    Don't break my heart, Mickey

  2. Having left the Dees last year as a member and also a supporter for over 50 years and gone over to Richmond, I can't believe that Schwab is the root cause of MFC's problems.

I always said it is a cultural thing in that there are no MFC demographics. There was one forum member on here recently who said the club needed an urban or suburban supporter base where the club and players could reach out physically to that base. I agree, but how that could happen I don't know.

In my last year on this forum before being suspended from it for 12 months as Dees Dayz, Oct 2011 - Oct 2012, I was dead against the club going after Malthouse or any other Collingwood coach. Reaching out to Collingwood for football smarts was not very smart. Traditional MFC supporters should not have to cop that.

Chasing Clarkson was the right thing to do, otherwise an ex MFC stalwart was needed. After Stynes united the club, the club should have awarded the coaching position to a Demon and closed up and tightened, a la Hawthorn. And have a look at the current assistant coaching staff... you have to be kidding me.

Then to shaft Junior Mac, then toss other senior players for the likes of Rodan, Gillies etc.... well, is that an ex Collingwood coaching death squad approach? Any wonder the players have no heart to play for the MFC. Any wonder there is no on-ground leadership. That cannot be paid for or drafted. It has to be nurtured in a tough and uncompromising way.

I was always shouted down on this forum when I doubted the benefit of tanking for draft picks. Especially with MFC's previous ten year or so record of poor picks and their inability to turn high draft picks into successful players, like Sylvia, Morton as a couple of examples.

The term "winning culture" became dirty words on this forum through 2009 onwards. Poo-Poo'd by people I no longer see posting on this forum. This forum is lucky they are currently in hiding.

Anyway, not my problem. I am now a Richmond Football Club member. An old-aged one, not prepared to waste my life further with MFC.

But on the other hand, I wish MFC every success if they can extract themselves from this [censored]. The AFL does really need them to be successful.

  3. I don't know why you have bothered then.

Your bitterness toward an anonymous mod is understandable, however if it's shaping life decisions then maybe you need more introspection...

I am a Demon and couldn't imagine not being one.

Culture is not easy to change but it's easy to quit.

We are striving as you are leaving.

I hope the Tigers enjoy your faux support.

    If true - good riddance.

  4. Dees Dayz delisted after 52 years and a 12 month suspension.

Hi guys, I’m back after being suspended from this forum for 12 months.

I was suspended for disagreeing with a potential Mick Malthouse signing for 2012 as coach, which was generally supported by the lexicons of this forum.

I was further ostricised by comments I made that one could not disagree with any Rhino Richards comments who seems to be epitome of the culture of this forum ( a moderator) and perhaps the MFC.

    All of that is fine!

I have been a MFC supporter since 1960 when I was 7yo. I was a gold member of MFC to 2011.

When I was tossed out of Demonland, I discussed with my wife and family what we thought the culture of MFC was, and further, how MFC relates to regional people who are not MCC members etc.

I declined membership of MFC this year while I decided exactly why I have supported the MFC for 52 years.

I will be signing up with the Richmond Football club as a member in 2013.

Obviously I won’t be returning to this forum. My children and grandkids can decide who they wish to follow for themselves

  5. Now let's just get our facts right here...

Is M&M the best coach in the business, as he was a few weeks ago? Or is Chris Scott the best coach in the business?

Perhaps we should have 'gone after' Chris, being a premiership coach, or should we have gone after Bomber Thompson (who was 'out of control' at 3/4 time duting Essendons final - he had no idea).

You smart-arsed people, on these boards, who 'go for the best available "coach"' are full of crap.

    Oh, yeah, Let's get M&M and pay him a $1,000,000 a year.

  6. Eddie and Mick have made the Pies a force in the AFL.

I hope the MFC can emulate the feat.

Don't get the hatred - our coach is our coach primarily because Mick Malthouse was his mentor and is a huge wrap for him.

And our Garry Lyon trusted the word of Mick Malthouse...

    Shock horror.

    What?

Time to further loosen your attitude rpfc. But M&M is just a candy baby, on the outside....poor baby.

  7. Sat with some "inner sanctum" Filth supporters today. They said that, in their ideal world, with Malthouse leaving, their first pick would have been for Neeld to take over, not Buckley. They say Buckley has not won over the players.

Fairly widely rumoured around the time Neeld was appointed as well. Maybe Eddie has backed the wrong horse.

I would also be delighted if the 'Buckley' thing did not work out.

This would povide me with more posts to greive High Tower (H_T), whom is evidently a Collingwood supporter, given the crap he loads on me regarding M&M.

  8. Okay, we're friends again.

I was there in '64 - front row.

But I you should be careful what you say about my management credentials - like you, I use a pseudonym.

So, for all you know, I could be Bill Gates or Richard Branson (or an Australian/Victorian equivalent) ...Go Dees 2012 and beyond!!

Indeed, 'Bill'. I wish I was there with you in '64, I would have been 10, but I would have come in my MFC gear.

  9. No need to be abusive.

I think I've supported - as in being a paid up member for much longer than you - try 50 years.

I've been through the best (and much of the worst) and believe, we will go through the best again in the next couple of years.

As for my "knowledge" on management...I think I know what I'm talking about here too.

Firstly, I commend you for 50 years of paid up membership. Secondly, I think I'm in love with you for this. Thirdly, you still could not manage sh__t. Fact is, M&M is gone, and hopefully never to MFC. I'm over the moon with Neeld's appointment!.

  10. There's no need to sound so bitter.

Saying he did nothing shows how little you understand management these days.

Head Coaches these days are like Managing Directors in the business world.

It would seem one of his leading protege's Mark Neeld believs in much the same thing.

I hope you don't start slagging him off like that, when something goes wrong, or is not to your "liking" ?

Not bitter, factual! And you've never managed s__t.

BangkonkDemon, one day you'll support the MFC. If you want to run after M&M, then do it. Support the filth!

  11. Great for footy, especially great for the MFC. I would have been devastated had this hack come to Melboune. His success was a result of his 'line' coaches, which were finally premiership quality after his 11 years at the helm. M&M did Nothing!

Neeld is one of the main reasons Collin#$*d had success. Now we have him and I am delighted. He was not a part of the Collin@#$% disintegration.

    I always said M&M was not woth a sh_t.

I am delighted that Geelong won the Flag.

  12. Hard to please.5008_9c00_420.gif?1265669754

Oh I don't know, rpfc? I certainly don't hate Neil Craig. I do hate the thought of off field appointment blowouts which may stretch the MFC budget to the extent we go back into debt. Some sustainable debt is fine, but not the kind of debt we just spent years overcoming through the efforts of big Jimma.

I do however hate the filth and anything to do with them. I am desperately keen to celebrate another Collingwood loss by GF's end today and will be devastated should they win. I think it only fitting that M&M should coach his last game to a GF loss, with the subsequent re-application of the term Collywobbles - gee I miss that term.

Yep. But please look up the records.. We were crap right up to Checker Hughes being enticed over by the former Richmond secretary. Checker made changes and stood on toes.

Before The hardness Checker brought, the 'fuschias' were weak. The club had only one 2 flags in a smaller league, over what, 35 yrs or so???

We had to Import How to, & Hardness to change the existing MCC culture.

And I at least hope these new club appointments bring the hardness, fight and never-say-die that we so desperately need.

  13. This curse will be gone thanks to Big Jimma Stynes...All MFC supporters should rock up to the 'G next year when Norm Smith is unvield. Imagine that, 50,000 MFC (who lack passion) we are told rock up to pay tribute to "The Red Fox"

Now that would get Jimmy Smiling.

Praise the Lord (in every religion, or other), Brother.

  14. Just been wondering.... The curse of Norm Smith - anyone else get the feeling it may have been lifted thanks our old arch enemies treating Mick Malthouse in a similar way to Norm being given his marching orders after 64. They have now lost Neeld to us may lose Watters to St Kilda, leaving Bucks without much current help. Just wondering if we may just passed the buck to the magpies - may 50 odd years of hell go your way and many new green pastures come ours

No, the curse remains... We sacked Smith for a reason (though the reason defeats me now... Barassi?) , Collingwood have sacked M&M for no reason.

Naturaly I'd be more than happy for Collingwood to start losing games, perhaps beginning this week. :)

  15. NoNoNo, Not split hairs at all.. It's an attitude. the games changed and the coach is no longer the Boss as was.

He's a front man & an Employee. As they all are.

If one doesn't cut it, you won't remove the whole thing. It's a footy dept now, & so we can't go looking to pin the 'Blame Tail' on one donkey, from Outside the Room.

Sorry, I'm trying to figure out if that is a negative or a positive post.

Probably a positive, given you don't sack all the shite in the FD.

It's a business and the weak link falls. That may not be the coach. The rest survive, otherwise it's unaffordable and crap, anyway. Interesting times these dayz.

  16. SPEND $$ TO MAKE $$$

Victories will makes debts a thing of the past...We are Melbourne....I think the Old Demon has opened his eyes, had a good stretch, dropped that big morning Fart after a long deep sleep & now that old Demon who has been gone since '65 is back Refreshed and ready to flex large Muscle and reclaim his mantle as no. 1 Football Club in the land..

Fitting that a statue of Norm Smith will be ercted in 2012.

We are Melbourne...The rest of the AFL community is in for a big suprise starting from next year....Money on it.

Thanks for that WYL... I was gettin' a little economonistical. 48yrs does that... What the hell..we're alive ain't we! B)

  17. I cannot believe people are whacking the club for overpopulating our coaching department.

The main knocks on our players in the past have been culture, toughness, fitness and professionalism.

Adelaide may not have won a flag but they were a tightly run ship who were fit and committed.Put Craig and Neeld together, coming from 2 of the powerhouses of the competition our players are gonna find out what gets done at serious footy clubs.

This is something all fans have to be happy with

Sick man, I'll just dig a bit deeper again. More cost across lower income needs some thought. We can't be a Collingwood without the income folks. Let me think.. yep there's always the debt option.

I'll refer back to this in a couple of years.

  18. Get the bloody colour red right so it don't look pink on the hardest team to beat......go dees

and while you are about it Flemo56 get rid of the maroon scarf!

    damn that maroon scarf

Spot on .........the dark pink is the embarassment NOT the collar !

    +1
