  1. unfortunately if that were true d-l they would have wound up the inquiry long ago just as when they had a little word to libba mind you in libba's case i wouldn't be surprised if the carlton-crew also had a little word and visy presented a paper bag too
  2. i had a herring the other day for dinner.......it looked just like a banana..............coincidence?
  3. what's so unusual about that. it tastes berry good.
  4. you really think it would die down? every article about mfc in the press would have some little snide remark tucked in somewhere and tanking threads here would run into the 100's of pages sponsorship and membership numbers would be affected arguments on governance and executives would rage none of the above would necessarily be fair but still inevitable NO, get it over quickly (edit: without capitulating that is)
  5. you are much too nice sue
  6. i really hope you are right bossdog, but everyone is human and it will be very hard to totally separate yourself from all the public speculation
  7. it's a bit hard to really enjoy the footy with this hanging over our heads and much as everyone will be trying it's bound to have some negative effect on the players they don't need this could be two seasons soured by idiots in the afl over something they were instrumental in encouraging in the first place
  8. you don't have to go to either..............AthiestLand is neat and much more like DemonLand Hell is much more a place for rock spiders and the Jimmy Savilles And P.S. they have full replays of all 13 winning grand Finals
  9. you'll be disappointed but.......................only ch9, no abc or internet and they play the 2000 gf non-stop
  10. yes macca he was a good 'un (even if he did go to wesley..........just joking) 2 brownlows (at 29 and 31) and he played in the nwfu (tas) for the ages of 23-26, supposedly a player's best years, after playing for mfc at 22 for only one year after returning from ww1 not only the coaching but chairman of selectors till he died
  11. personally i'd have checker hughes before geddy lyon - much greater influence
  12. so maurie...........its AFL groupthink versus Demonland groupthink may the better side win.......... if only the body politic was so simple
  13. you shouldn't post fan when your mind is boggled - LOL
  14. out of curiosity....... has any other club been the target of an afl inquiry lasting 6 months?...(and still going) royal commissions have been known to complete in this time frame is there a logical reason for such tardiness especially when it spills over 2 seasons even if exonerated we will have paid a price
  15. plus you forgot to say that the price of quality toilet paper dropped dramatically further reducing the usefulness of newsprint
  16. wish they'd update the membership counter
  17. can we please get back to fighting the powers of evil and not ourselves and no this is not a victim statement man the barricades.....vive les démons
  18. yeah reminds me of that ex swans player talking about drugs in the afl a few years back the afl REALLY wanted to listen didn't they?
  19. i have noticed though that she is often quite ashen faced. i wonder what that indicates?
  20. macca at the moment the print media are fighting like cats and dogs for their very survival they will blow-up and sensationalise whenever they can just for circulation and advertiser dollars now is not a time to expect any increase in quality, class or ethics whilst they are sacking journos wholesale and cutting expenses so yes you are asking way too much (but you knew that didn't you )
  21. Anderson's Fatwah? I like it
  22. I suppose this is where the teach them to be nice to girls, avoid racist slurs and keep away from drugs i wonder if they will teach them not to make inflammatory comments about other clubs or players unless they have the proof to back it up (a'la Mr UnClean)?
  23. let me understand this "the afl had to investigate but it didn't want to" so they put together a team including the hercule poirot of the UN and they drag it out now for 6 months including questionable interrogation techniques c'mon ben does this sound like the actions of a body doing something it doesn't want to do? they may now wish they hadn't created this mess but at the time they started they definitely "wanted to". At least three of them did anyway.
