you're probably right bb one final anal comment from me I took "Sydney win the 2014 Premiership. Longmire succeeds Roos. Again." as meaning "Sydney win the 2014 Premiership. Longmire (as a result) succeeds Roos. Again." instead of "Sydney win the 2014 Premiership. Longmire (then) succeeds Roos. Again." i know...i need help -

it was a pretty strong inference given it was coupled with longmire winning the 2014 premiership anyway, if you want to go down that extreme logic path then roos would have to coach another side this year, then be succeeded by longmire, also this year and for that side to win the 2014 premiership. alternatively longmire would have to succeed roos at melbourne this year and for melbourne to win the 2014 premiership which is currently mathematically impossible unless a number of sides above were to lose premiership points for some indiscretions. you really do like to draw the long long bow so, hope that clears up your lingering doubts -
i would have thought that obvious ever heard of an alias

he only could if roos coached the swans for a second stint and was then succeeded (replaced) again by longmire which of course he hasn't so if longmire wins a premiership this year he won;t have succeeded roos twice simple really -
well don't expect the afl to enforce their own rules

that sentence doesn't make sense longmire can't succeed (replace) roos twice do you mean he owes his success to roos twice (by inheriting his list/culture) or do you mean he surpasses roos twice, in which case he would need 3 premierships or do you mean he would be twice as successful as roos i'm guessing you mean option three -
i checked the write ups and they said 9 goals after half-time......but you may be correct anyway i wouldn't call one goal just before half time as "kicking an early goal"
-
lol, you mean like that game against the pies where he kicked a huge bag but none in the first half?

it's not the property of the mfc vagg (believe it or not) it's the property of the mcc (being the owners of the club at that time) -
break out the champagne, stuie's back bbo, he couldn't resist the logo thread

what a condescending pile of carp sd. loyalty and emotional connection is why i am a club supporter, winning flags is only satisfying because of that. it is the desired result not the cause of my attachment.
-
i understand that (and the logical side of me agrees) i'm just musing on how this is just (another) part of a bigger change to the game that impacts on the more abstract side and challenges supporter loyalty i know FA is a reality and is here to stay at least in some form I know players now see their participation more and more as a job where they make decisions to maximise their payments as a priority. everyone has their price and money talks but.....no supporters loyalty is limitless or endless (and i'm talking of club and/or afl loyalty, not the players)
-
if you read my post it was not about the players, it was more about the direction of the game it was about how the game is being hi-jacked and FA is just one part of that the club changes as time goes on in order to comply with the dictates of the afl and the"stakeholders" (profiteers) as the game changes then the club changes with it until it just erodes my attachment to the afl and hence the club little by little that is not hard to understand when it gets like nrl with players swapping around willy nilly you start to question whether it is a club or just another receptacle of transient players it's just an opinion (and not that uncommon) plus i'm probably feeling a bit maudlin today and peeved with posters who just analyse it from a real-politik, pragmatic, logical point of view and ignore the emotional allegiance aspect of it which is so important to the traditional club supporter rant over
-
all very true nut from a logical point of view however my "loyalty" and connection to the club is based on emotion, like it or not as the relentlessnes of professionalism and money-first continues to march on, my loyalty and connectedness is gradually eroded it's not just me having these thoughts i'm starting to hear similar things from others afl footy is starting to become just another media-based reality show run for the sake of making money and exploiting a great and uniquely australian dream and no i don't blame the players maybe d-l and flanagan will understand
