  1. just a state of mind, mate earth hasn't always been like that and i'm sure those creatures in their own time thought it was beautiful too
  2. glad you cleared that up d-l sadly i'll be 6' under by then
  3. i've never claimed modelling is a waste of time. one has to start somewhere and build on it what i complain about is the sometimes slavish belief in a model which many commentators and environmental warriors claim one must always have a good appreciation of the limitations of any modelling and not fall into the trap of becoming a zealot granted, good data, and more data is always required but it is much more than just data, it's more about getting the correct algorithms into the model. realistically global climate modelling is in it's infancy and is a monumental task i noticed recently the space probe has reached pluto and is starting to receive close-up data. the first comment from the scientists is that it is much bigger than they thought. makes one wonder how accurate their knowledge of space bodies hundreds of light years away is if they can't get something this close right i'm not anti-science or anything, in fact very much the opposite, but it's always prudent to keep one's perspective firmly rooted in reality with a liberal dose of skepticism
  4. but, nut, we already know he is a tool
  5. just tell him to run it out, ht, and stop whinging just joshing
  6. i'm sorry,dp, but anyone who believes that current science understands the earth's global climate mechanisms well enough to construct a model that accurately predicts global climate is either indulging themselves in an exercise of gross arrogance or is completely deluding themselves.
  7. you might be right diitd at the time i was in quite a bit of pain and had a bad limp. when i limped into his room he just glanced at me and said "ligaments left knee" he inspected my knee with his hands and said "three twisted ligaments. i've untwisted them. don't play this week, give nature time for it to settle" i hadn't felt any pain whatsoever and was unaware he had manipulated any ligaments and i was very used to ham-fisted trainers in those days who knew how to hurt. total time had been less than 2 minutes. i walked out with just the slightest limp. the guy in front of me in the waiting room was down from the country and told me he came about every 1-2 years. had a chronic bad back problem that no-one else could help with except mitchell. he was there with his son who had to help every time he moved around the queue. he was obviously in a lot of pain. he too was in the room for only a few minutes. when he came out he had the biggest smile was unaided and upright. there were lots of stories about bill mitchell's "magic" and people travelled from everywhere to see him he treated from the trainers room at lakeside oval and the waiting room was the player's change rooms. fee was a token fixed charge http://midlifexpress.com/great-healers-born-healers/
  8. hardtack, there was a legendary trainer down at south melbourne called mitchell i would have advised you to seek him out, but he passed on a few years ago i had a similar thing once. after 5 minutes with him i only missed a week
