just on a side note for my curiosity but just what is "underage"? under 16, under 17, under 18?
-
nothing wrong with passing rumours on but next time give your source so we can put a weighting on it

no, not the compensation, that is not affected and a different calculation the only diff is that can make a restricted FA (8 years) into an unrestricted FA therefore no option to match offer in reality being an ufa or a rfa doesn't seem to matter so far, although it may in the case of danger frawley was a rfa who became an ufa because of this rule and it didn't affect compo anyways, the afl could easily fix this anomaly by using the average pa value of the contract if they wished to
-
that's definitely got ring of rationality to it, moonie
-
i dunno judging on his draft profile seems to have as many bad points as good ones. doesn't seem to have a lot of upside but it's just a raffle at this level
-
when melksham gets banned the afl may allow us to temporarily play him (like with essendrugs in nab cup)

DOE in their inestimable wisdom decided to order some burning back up near romsey today in 37c heat now there is a bush fire and some people are being evacuated just hope bbo and the lads are safe from this another great decision by the doe in their desk bound central bureaucratic sites and dark suits

let me put it another way clubs can be, net front-enders, net back-enders or pretty much neither a club like melb with youth and inexperience would most likely be net front-ended to avoid over-payment of players and to build a war chest a club like the dorks with older players, more stars ans success would be most likely be net back-enders to avoid exceeding the cap and to free up some space for mature trades i don't doubt hawks players are taking below their worth but there is only so far you can go with this and keep so many top players happy and free up some cap space anyway that is how i see it and that is what makes me think a lot of that 800k will evaporate quickly to other back-ended contracts
-
was more thinking of players they have been bringing in recently take frawley at 2.5m over 4 years. if that was backended to fit him in then his salary now starts to increase. there are probably others too
-
let's just say jw wouldn't have fit in
-
and maybe a big chunk of that is required for recent back-ended trades coming into effect next year i wouldn't assume they have just got an 800k surplus unless you know their contract's statuses
-
still reckon it would have made sense to let him go another season

there were a lot of demons in sparta

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
daisycutter replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
agree it's bollox, but i can't see how they can factor in the unknown unless they have very good augurs or haruspices on the team -
i don't understand his attitude client is rfa and adelaide perfectly within their rights to match offer......them's the rules what happens then is a diiferent scenario and really outside of fa. it is essentially back to the old ooc status to avoid the matching offer the cats could always up their offer....that's their choice and it is a market, but they want their cake and eat it it would also suit connors to get more loot for his client (commission) anyway i'm sure crows aren't taking advice from connors. it's between carlton and crows i'd say
