Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)
daisycutter replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
yes, while i had some reservations, he was signed as a ready-to-go player -
of course it's the afl's fault. it was their explicit idea and they sanctioned it it may be the right thing to do (or not) but it is definitely the afl's fault
-
the only comment you'll get will be spin about how the player's welfare is paramount to them and how the players deserve sympathy and how they are working tirelessly for a fair and just outcome, yada yada
-
by the talk in the press it is more essendon's insurer's problem one legal eagle said they want to find out how much the insurer will pay before they decide to add the afl to the litigation (i.e. if there is any shortfall) lawyers are in box seat as neither essendon nor the afl wish to go to court less their skeletons get exposed. personally i hope they do contest it so there is no excessive profiteering
-
given kelty was on the afl board for the duration of this saga (till end 2015), shouldn't he stay out of this and stop politicking?
-
no building required to be that, dazzle
-
it's a grey area. social contact is not forbidden. if he is just giving advice on how to cope and stay focussed that should be ok.
-
yep, that dank man is amazing. he gives not only medical advice but by drawing up the consent form, legal advice too and everyone at efc accepts his medical and legal status. it's quite mind blowing actually when you consider the club had real doctors and real lawyers
-
he was eating his knee?

why does that conjure up an image of bbo? -
i'm sure they could gtg, after-all they managed to find plenty of ways to be innocent without "being innocent"

i just want a winning game plan . but more attacking sounds good -
how cute, like a couple of puppies
-
i liked the bit when asked why players didn't do more to check up, he said they had done "everything possible". he said they had been told by dank that all supplements were legal so "what more could they do". i was just staggered, because all he mentioned in his reply was that just dank had said everything was ok
-
he's never needed one before, would be perfect
-
i'm sure dean robinson could offer a good deal to manage their training

the motives of the receivers in this case is pure greed and opportunism, and to be deplored. i don't think it was necessarily as sinister as being pre-planned though, as the photos were reportedly sent a year or more ago the only silver lining in this sleazy extravaganza of publicity is the warning it (hopefully) sends to other adventurous but dumb snapshotters
-
if your daughters send nude photos to strangers.......then yep p.s. i don't think your daughters would though
-
i'm not sure kb can make that claim with any authority. melbourne storm's facilities are not really theirs as they share them with mfc and the soccer clubs. doubt there would be spare capacity anyway. even if it were somehow possible they would have to pay. by my reading storm (or the others at aami) can have nothing to do with them. if they could train using the aami park facilities it would be a farce

bomba thompson's role needs a lot more scrutiny. as i understand it, his role, at least partly, was to mentor hird who had no prior coaching or management experience nor coaching accreditation qualifications. not excusing hird for his bad decision making and failure to accept his responsibilities but i think thompson has got off very lightly for his role. of course it also goes beyond these two. there was a systematic breakdown of management and governance right to the top.

nothing as long as they are not funded by essendon, the afl or the aflpa (which is 100% funded by the afl).if supporters or independent benefactors wish to fund them so be it.

i'm not sure how privacy laws can be invoked when these idiots (sorry, victims) send these photos to someone they haven't ever met (according to reports) and never requested any privacy. privacy could be assumed (implicit) for family, partners, business transactions etc, but i doubt to total strangers. bigger problems in the world than protecting these idiots from themselves.

loved the comment that worsfold wouldn't have time to understand and check supplements. lol, ffs he's a qualified chemist.
