I was actually asking what he said. So slagging is now what you can read between the lines. That means he is not actually using words to slag, but hidden meanings that need to be interpreted. Wow! Also, as to bringing back Roosy, you should talk to some of the players, because they wouldn't agree.
-
So obviously the club didn't know what they were doing keeping number 1 pick Deledio for 12 years, while he played 243 games with them..
-
I have the answer to all the angst, don't trade or delist any fan favourite. Enjoy the continued success.
-
Jack's or being on traded to Crows.
-
Aaron Francis, a brilliant player who hasn't got fit enough. Might be a good swap for JW.
-
If Goodwin said that, plenty on here would say he is slagging off at the players and making it an us and them. Not an all in together team. He has separated the Coaches from the Players and blamed them exclusively. I didn't think the Crows coaching was great yesterday. However, Pyke was slagging off at the players and it was a them and us statement. Poor from a coach. What he could have said instead, was maybe " the Tigers had better effort than "US" today, or "OUR" effort wasn't as good as the Tigers.
-
Recounting Goodwin's comments when Tom was kicking goals up forward and coupled with his constant bloopers down back and the fact that JW is probably going, I agree with you.
-
I still think that we are trying to link Watts going, with getting a player in. I don't think that necessarily means that we will get a player from the club he ends up at, but rather a 3 club deal. Then again it is only a hunch.
-
What did Goodwin say that was slagging? I thought he said we had given him the option of looking around and that if he was unable to get a better deal he could stay with us. That is not slagging a player. Have I missed something else he said?
-
Isn't he the 10 possession per game player, who smashed a bunch of cars earlier this year and then ran away ( probably drunk ). How would he fit in with the no d-ckhead policy?
-
Think the AFL would have wanted Houli.
-
A bunch of no names plus 3-4 stars, who all play manic pressure footy, can win Flags. That's two years in a row it has happened.
-
Is that info or your vibe?

I'll say something that may seem unkind but read it in context. If Hogan were to seek a trade home this year, after signing a new contract and then having the year from hell, in which the MFC have supported him 100%, I would regard him as an ungrateful person who I would then care little about. HOWEVER, that is not the case and he is going nowhere. He apparently loves the club and his team mates and he continues to have my full support in both his recovery and his football career, with the Dees.
-
Thank God. I would have blamed JW if they were more expensive.
-
Yes I still think that and I would keep Jack, but it appears I am being overruled by the MFC FD. Given that, there is not much I can do but hope we get a good deal. I assume those that know, have evaluated his performance and attitude etc, like they would do with every player on the list and have come to the conclusion that he is not assisting our push to a GF, nor is he the player we would select for one.

The list below makes interesting reading. Sorry for the capital letters it's the bloody computer. JW is number 19 on the list for average tackles. Billy who most would consider non aggressive has more average tackles than JW. Think of the Tiger's forward pressure. This is a must in today's game. The Tigers are not a star studded team but they have manic pressure. Tom Mac a part time forward kicked more goals than JW and Melksham another part time forward nearly kicked more. Petracca another forward/mid also kicked more. Jeffy of course was well ahead. Jesse hardly played. Not that he has to lead the goal kicking, but it shows we have other players who can kick goals too. Obviously there are a lot of things that players have to do at a club and when you don't do several you are on thin ice. Well let's analyse that a bit. BK I think will be gone by trade or delisted by list lodgment time. JKH is working on his game and had massive numbers at Casey, getting his own ball, playing in the mid field over a number of weeks. Bugg can't be accused of being soft, has a go, puts some angst in opposition players and needs to work on eliminating stupidity, but was part of the team when we were aggressive and up and running. IMO is not in best 22 but is handy to have for depth. Vince will play his last year and reportedly is ok if form means he plays at Casey and won't sook. Gawn is our number 1 ruck who was badly injured and who is AA and can play. Some of his poor play was actually players not going to right spots to win his tap outs. Oliver had no problem. Wagner is a limited player who could improve, but don't think he needs a blowtorch from the Coach. Harmes is a goer who needs to work on his disposal. Do you think he will improve with a blow torch? Salem and Billy could use a bit of a blowtorch in respect to more involvement and attack on the ball, but both have great disposal. ANB has worked harder than most and attacks the contest, has a weakness in disposal and a blowtorch would have no effect on that. Garlett showed early season passion and pressure and was clearly affected late in the year by the loss of a family member. I don't think you blowtorch the Garletts of this world, I think you just encourage them to be their best. One last thought, if you add JW to the list above, who would be the most passive, non aggressive, weakest contested ball player in that list and who has been on the list the longest and made the least improvement in their all round game?

Goodwin has been at the MFC for 4 years with JW and is now a 2nd year Coach. Reckon he might know a bit more about JW than some on here.

One thing I have learned from years on DL and that is that posters, including some who have never even seen a training session, know more about a player, than the coaches and fellow players who spend all day with them, for up to 11 months of the year and who also happen to play alongside them. What would any of those players or coaches know unless of course they read DL. Of course we can all have opinions too, but we need to remember the many people involved in making these decisions and the knowledge they must have about the people they are deciding about.
-
Don't be concerned.
-
I wonder if this is just a rocket up his a-se and we are not trading him, but rather sending a message.
-
While I would like Jack to stay, if you told me we were getting Danger, Martin, Cotchin or Selwood, we would all be screaming in delight. Therefore we would be happy to move him on, as long as we did well out of the deal. Most have said we are happy with the current FD. So, shouldn't we accept that the FD know what they are doing and just hope that they get a good deal, before we burn the joint down?
